This adult Common Murre arrived contaminated at our SF Bay-Delta Center last week. Our first step with any intake is stabilizing the patient and deciding what care they need. With oiled birds, we also take feather samples so we can identify what the bird is contaminated with. We can only wash the birds once they’re stable - so keeping up with fluids and food is key! #wildlife #wildliferehab #birds #pelagicbirds #nonprofit #sfbayarea
