International Youth Day✨ a day designated by the United Nations to raise awareness of the challenges and problems facing the world’s youth. On this day, I think back to my trip to Kenya that I took in February. We went around to different schools each day to deliver @lifestraw community filters so the children could have safe drinking water.✨ * The whole experience for me, was much deeper than just that. This mission was a way for me to express my gratitude and love for those children as they reminded me of myself when I had very little materially but so much passion and love in my heart. Each one of them is filled with so much power and the capability to change the world with their life. They will grow up to be leaders and teachers. I didn’t take one moment or conversation for granted. The whole experience reminded me how much I love children and how much our words and care for them at this age can shape their entire future.✨ * On this day, we celebrate all of the youth in this world. We reflect on how we can play our part in making sure they have all the tools that they need in order to thrive and be their best. What is your fondest childhood memory? * Mine is running around butt naked outside while my brothers and I sprayed each other with the water hose. We would press our thumb into the water stream to pretend it was the expensive sprinklers we couldn’t afford. Then after we would dig into the moist earth with our hands and make mud pies for each other. We were creative and free and that’s all that mattered.

Follow Your Intuition✨ There are many benefits to doing breath-work, yoga and meditation every morning but one of the biggest ones is mental clarity. With all of the outside impressions and suggestions we get day it can sometimes be difficult to discern what’s best leading to a state of confusion and doubt.✨ * My first recommendation to anyone feeling unsure about a path or direction is to practice a minimum of 10 mins of breath-work, 10 mins of yoga and 10 mins of meditation and wait for the spiritual guidance to come + trust it. Moderation and Balance✨ Sitting on the beach and sinking my toes into the sand while I watching the ocean waves is one of my favorite things to do.✨ * I’m passionate about personal and world development + I have to balance my drive for self improvement and activism with time where I can just appreciate nature, acknowledge social progress and be satisfied with exactly where I am.✨ * 3 ways you can practice moderation and balance: 1. Make a list of 7 things you love to do and do 1 thing daily that brings you joy. 2. Make a list of the progress you’ve seen over the last month. 3. Call 1 person a day that you love and catch up with them and let them know how you feel. * When you’re very passionate and driven it’s important to acknowledge how far you’ve come and cherish the people around you that love and support you.✨ * I just wanna say “Thank You!” for supporting my life’s work as I continue to grow and evolve over time with your comments and messages (I read every one). Lessons Learned✨ I’m so grateful for the blessings and the lessons learned in my lifetime so far. Every time I have a birthday it’s like my new year. I reflect on all of the good and bad and how I’ve grown from it all. In the last year I’ve learned: 1. Gratitude helps balance out negativity. I’ve always been a positive person but when life is dealing me lemons gratitude is just the sugar I need to make lemonade. 2. Forgiveness heals old and new wounds. It’s takes a ton of compassion for the human race to really heal from being hurt, abused or disrespected. Especially by someone very close to you. Think of every negative thought or emotion towards yourself or another as an opportunity to heal. Yes, it’s that deep. Every time I feel anything outside of love I “go to work” because only by mindfully healing myself can I guide others to their own personal healing. 3. Discernment is necessary to surround myself with people who have my best interest at heart. Trusting my intuition when it shows me those who are just around me for their own personal gain was a big revelation for me this year. 4. Boundaries are necessary and healthy to set when I feel exhausted or irritated. That’s my bodies way of tell me it’s not comfortable with the current situation and I need to process my emotions around it vs moving forward because I feel pressured or obligated to do so. 5. Letting go of toxic people and habits is an act of self love. I usually hang on to relationships even after I’ve being used, neglected, or mistreated because I tell myself “nobody’s perfect” but unless I can address the situation and feel good about it...I have to let it go. Same goes for toxic habits. I’ll tell myself “everyone else is doing it” yeah, and it’s still toxic so if I want to spread love “bye bye” bad habits. 6. Being gentle with myself is self care. I don’t expect myself to be perfect. I acknowledge my slip ups when I see them but I remind myself that I’m a good person with a big heart so beating myself only limits and blocks that love.✨ * Can u relate to any of these? To call my trip to Jamaica a “great” experience is an understatement. It was liberating. In just a few days, I learned so much about myself and what I need to recharge, the Jamaican culture and vibe of Negril. I challenged myself to do things I used to be fearful of like cliff jumping and parasailing. I got some much needed R&R, ate amazing Jamaican vegan food (like Ackee, Callaloo, Breadfruit, Pepper Pоt Soup, Festival, Bammy and Fried Plantain ), danced to my new Jamaican playlists, watched the sunset and sunrise so much more. Thank you @royaltonnegril ✨ * I couldn’t feel any more fulfilled than I do now. If you aren’t familiar with Negril, it is a town in western Jamaica known for its gorgeous beaches and fun nightlife. The town of Negril is small and intimate with a population of around 6,000 but my driver said it might be closer to 10k now. It’s truly a hidden oasis. ✨ * At @royaltonnegril they went above and beyond to take care of me and made sure I had such a special birthday. I highly recommend staying there if you decide to visit Negril. I will definitely be back.✨ * Yet another solo-travel trip is wrapped up and in the books! Divine Timing✨This week, I’ve been on a solo trip for my birthday in Negril, Jamaica and staying at the gorgeous @royaltonnegril to relax and rejuvenate. The past few months have been a journey full of hard work, lessons, failures and successes. It’s time for me to spend some time aligning my mind, body and spirit while also reflecting on how I have grown since last year with a little less work and a lot more nurture.✨ * When many people hear that I am “solo-traveling,” I am often greeted with concern and fear, however, in my life I’ve found that solo traveling is one of the greatest experiences you can ever provide to your soul. I’ve gotten to meet so many new people all over the world and most importantly, I’ve got to learn and experience cultures that are different from mine. ✨ * There’s a secret that I want to share in order to have a positive solo traveling experience. Of course, it is always crucial that you are aware of your surroundings, but it is also important to maintain an open mind. Any time that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone on a solo trip it made for the best experiences and memories. I’ve found that stepping out of your comfort zone is where the best moments of your trip is hidden. I look forward to sharing more moments from this trip but for now I’d love to hear about yours. Facing Fears/Bday Solo Trip✨ Believe it or not I used to be afraid of heights. My heart would start racing as if I were gonna have a heart attack. Then my best friend almost drowned me when I tried to save her from drowning in the deep end of the pool when I was 14 so until I took a water safely instructor class in college I would hyperventilate (which I didn’t know was anxiety at the time) every time I got into deep water. Most of you even remember after facing my fears and learning to swim and jumping off cliffs into deep water 2 years ago, impressed by my Mom, I dove off Dunn rivers falls and hurt my back really bad and it took almost a year to heal but it did.✨ * Yes, all those thoughts raced through my head before I finally decided to face my fears again and jump at @rickscafeonline something I’ve heard about and wanted to do for over a decade and now was my chance. Today July 30th is not only my Solar Return, but it also marks World Day Against Trafficking, something that we should never forget to shed light on. The world can be a very scary place and everyone deserves to feel safe no matter what space they’re in—this includes online platforms as well. I have been taking the time to practice grounding today and it feels SO good! Sinking my toes in the sand here in Aruba is energizing my entire body. Mother Earth is my outlet and whenever I need a boost I just disconnect from the world and plug into her sockets for a recharge. Time to clear the air✨ Bring out your sage because you might need it if you’ve ever been manipulated or are currently experiencing gas lighting and I would love to hear your opinions and thoughts on this topic✨ * Y’all might have noticed I haven’t posted in 4 days and that’s the longest it’s taken me to process something I’m going through in a while. I normally skip a day or two during my @getlovedup yoga teacher trainings because holding space for personal transformation and managing my own self care takes every ounce of me.✨ * The last 4 days have been emotionally exhausting as I prayed for clarity around relationships and how to navigate manipulation and personal slander. After a releasing meditation at bedtime I went into a deep sleep. I don’t remember my dream but I felt very good and clear when I woke. I sat up in my bed to start meditation and I was guided to an article on gaslighting by psychology today that explains how I have been treated. I’m sharing this so no one else has to experience this and if you are I hope you have the power to remove yourself from this toxic environment. I’m open to hear your experiences on the topic. I have COMPASSION for this person and how they are hurting but I can no longer allow them into my space. Love Louder✨ It’s easy to love when someone is loving you back and when the love is transactional...you do this for me, I do this for you...is this really love?✨ * Can you love some one after they’ve betrayed you and manipulated others to shame you?
