dusk falls upon a fiery @montereybayaquarium and waters continue to stay calm... • • • As flames continue on both ends statewide, Mother Nature refuses to calm the heat. We ask for your prayers and good acts to all those affected by these fires, as thousands of family’s are now put in such a unfathomable situation in a matter of days. We can only try our hardest now to take care of the earth and ourselves and bounce back from such extreme devastation🌍😞 Remember to thank all the local firefighters and first responders for containing as much possible and saving lives and living the #dogood concept to the fullest💪🏽❤️
HOW TO: Live with Less Plastic... ………………………………… So many simple everyday hacks can be implemented into our daily routine to help the environment and world around us, so Mother Earth and human beings can work as one💪🏽🌍 Comment below other ways you can reduce plastic!
Two generations of humans have killed off more than half the worlds wildlife populations. Populations of birds🦅 , fish🐟 ,reptiles 🦎 , and amphibians have declined by 60% after 1970.. a study by World Wildlife Foundation ~ @wwf finds.. Without balance, future Mother Earth will stand no chance against industrialization and the human race, and we must take conscious measures to work together as one. 💫
We’re officially in #NoStrawNovember! Remember to preserve our oceans and be #strawfree ! Americans alone use 500 million drinking straws per day🥤 It’s time to put that to and end!🌊
Did you know that over 500,000,000 plastic straws are used in the US alone EVERY DAY? Single use plastic straws take over 200 years to decompose. What a waste…but YOU can be part of the change. Join us in supporting #NoStrawNovember. How do you join us in #NoStrawNovember ? 1. Print this letter and bring it into your local establishment(s) (coffee shop, bar, restaurant, juice bar) and educate them on the impact of plastic straws. 2. Get their management to sign off on this letter stating they will eliminate plastic straws from their business in November (and hopefully going forward from there). 3. Go to paulwalkerfoundation paulwalkerfoundation.org and place an order for the straws (they are FREE) so we know where to ship them. Include your name in the special instructions for seller so we know who made this happen. 4. On behalf of YOU and your efforts The Paul Walker Foundation will ship them paper straws to replace their plastic straws (while supplies last). The 7 members of the PW family that get the most business’s to commit to #NoStrawNovember will receive a gift box filled with PW Foundation merchandise in December for the Holidays!
#Repost @_oneil_ ・・・ #NoStrawNovember is almost here! I created No Straw November in hopes of getting school children motivated to make a change. I would have never imagined that @jr.ocean.guardians would be responsible for eliminating around 27 million single use plastic straws and coffee stirs PER YEAR. I am beyond thankful to everyone who has supported me on this amazing and fulfilling journey. #NoStrawNovember is a challenge for people who don’t medically need straws to skip the straw for the entire month. Last year part of the patch donation money was given to @girlscouts troops hit by Hurricane Harvey. This year a portion of the patch donations will be given to Friends of the Elephant Seal nonprofit. They help maintain a free, wheelchair friendly, boardwalk so everyone can experience wildlife in the true wild. It is near and dear place to my heart and I am truly thankful to have the platform to give back to them. #DoGood art by @semichad
OCEAN NEWS • • • The European Parliament has come together to ban the range of single use plastics by the year 2021! Cotton buds, straws, drink stirrers, and balloon sticks. As well as a limit on food and drink containers p. Without this, there will be more trash than fish by 2050. Such a fantastic start to a new revolution. Baby steps is the 🔑 •DOGOOD•

Congratulations to our very own Shelby O’Neil for being awarded the Gold Honor Award by the Girl Scouts of America!🇺🇸 • • Shelby founded the nonprofit Jr Ocean Guardians to combat waste and defend the environment. Initiating a movement called No Straw November, she encouraged people who don’t medically need a straw to reject unnecessary plastic straws during November, because they’re a main source of ocean pollution. As a result of her advocacy, Shelby’s resolution proclaiming November to be No Straw November in California was approved by the state legislature. She also conducted a letter-writing campaign to executives at prominent corporations, convincing a leading airline to formally discontinue its use of nonrecyclable plastic straws and working with other companies to improve their sustainability practices. Shelby’s organization, with support from Girl Scout troops and notable environmental activists, has eliminated the use of millions of plastic straws and promoted reusable alternatives. Thank you for keeping the #DOGOOD trend alive! 🌍🙏🏽
Big smiles for October!!🎃🎃 Let’s not spook our ocean friends this Halloween month with unrecycled plastic bags🧐 You never know, dolphins may mistake them for little ghosts 👻

Here’s what happened to the water bottles we throw away after dinner. Our ocean as we know it has been covered with a blanket of plastic waste... nearly 7.5 trillion pieces of plastic alone is found in our oceans annually. Next time you throw something away.. think of where ‘away’ could be. How can we fix this? Next time you’re at the beach pick up as many pieces of trash you can find, catch a photo and tag #pwfdogoodchallenge to be entered for a chance to win $50 and some PWF merch for such a small deed. Winners will be announced mid October. It’s the little things that make the difference. #DOGOOD Photo: @instakahi ・・・
