I was just talking to a friend ysdty about how at one point, I was ONLY ever in black and white. My hair was even white! Now, I feel my wardrobe is reflecting who I am at this point in my life: vibrant, open, and soft - def not words I’d use 3-4 years ago (just go all the way back on my feed & you’ll see!) As ‘superficial’ fashion and clothing can be, it is how we express our inner selves to the world. So I haven’t drank alcohol for what seems like forever now (a choice I made when I was at my unhealthiest). Yes it was awkward at first (esp at industry parties) but it forced me to face my insecurities in large groups & really own who I am - which is s c a r y. To be sober & yes, lean into social awkwardness is one of the greatest ongoing lessons of my life. Btw how great is this drank? It’s zero alcohol & in one of the cutest bars in Greenpoint!

Frothy reishi ‘latte’ - reishi, long considered the ‘Queen of the mushrooms’ is great for sleep, balancing female hormones & boosting immunity. I make these after dinner when I’m in need of a chill-out. Recipe below! 2 TBSP raw sunflower seeds 1/2 date 1 @foursigmatic reishi pack 1/2 TBSP cacao powder (optional) 1/2 TSP chia seeds 1/2 TSP coconut oil 1 cup hot water Mix all ingredients in high speed blender for 3-5 mins, ENJOY!

Last night at a party I was asked a really good question (one that many of u ask me). How do you work in digital and maintain a healthy relationship to yourself? Answer: it’s HARD AF. Over the yrs I’ve developed rules to keep myself in line: 1. Phone curfew at 9PM every night - ie I don’t use my phone until the next AM 2. Monitor screen time using app built into iPhone - it’s scary at one point I was on my phone 10+ hrs a day. Now I’m down to 3-4 3. Dedicate 1 hr every day to Instagram and don’t go over. 4. One day a week, leave my phone at home and go out. It’s FUN! And gives me so much peace of mind It’s no secret we are all addicted to our phones (esp when our work rely on it) but we can take small steps to TAKE BACK our dominion over our lives and time. While on silent retreat we ate something v similar to this every day: Overnight Turmeric Rose Oats! Recipe Below: 1 cup gluten free rolled oats 2 cups water for soaking 1.5 cup plant based mylk 2 dried figs diced (or any dry fruit works) 1 TBSP dried rose petals 1 cardamom pod crushed 1 tsp turmeric (I recc @diasporaco) Dash of black pepper Dash of cinnamon Technique: 1. First soak oats overnight in water, then drain in AM (this is to improve digestion + nutrient bioavailability; you can skip this step but I’ve noticed it makes a difference for me) 2. Add plant mylk + all ingred and soak for another day (or at least 5 hrs) PLACE IN FRIDGE 1. When ready, garnish with fruit, seeds, nut butters (whatever you dance!) 2-3 servings
