Guess we should probably start writing our wild rom-com now, huh @willahbennett? #happygirlfriendday
Its been... well, a minute.. since I’ve had a chance or the time to sit and play the drums, but a very special shout out to @tiktok for getting me to take a beat and dive back in. She’s rusty as hell, but she’ll be ready for the road soon ✌🏽
If you couldn’t already tell from my face in every single picture... #euphoria is exactly what I felt all night long celebrating pride with my team at @them, our Queeroes, and so, so many of my friends — old and new. Thank you to every person who was a part of this magical night, and of course to @euphoria for partnering with us to bring it all to life 🌈✨
Happy Pride! My love @willahbennett and I are kicking off this special week of reflection and celebration with #MichaelKors. For every #Pride T-shirt sold in the U.S., Michael Kors will donate 100% -- that means all -- of the profits to @GodsLoveNYC, a longstanding pillar of the LGBTQ+ community. #ad 📸: @jonasbardin
A friendly reminder, all reveals itself 🖤
If you’ve seen @the_oa on @netflix, you know that @ianaiexander is one of the most dynamic young actors in Hollywood. After starring in this first role —one that made waves for trans representation on TV— Ian shared with us his story about chosen family, the life-changing nature of his rise to fame, and what’s next. And I, personally, couldn’t be more excited to watch him shine. CHIKA is one of the most exciting artists right now, period. When I first found her music, I ended up scrolling down her page for almost half an hour. With every brilliant verse she rapped, I caught myself smiling or my jaw dropping at her sheer skill, wit, and intelligence. She’s a voice music needs right now — both on and off stage. After dropping out of college and working her way up, @oranicuhh beautifully and powerfully shared with us how she came to understand her queer identity, and how her spellbinding music reflects it. I hope her story in our #Pride Issue moves you like it moved us. In the middle of February last year I read somewhere that @kingprincess69’s debut single ‘1950’ was inspired in part by “The Price of Salt”. I was immediately intrigued, given I had probably watched “Carol” about 4 times already that winter. Since then, I’ve admittedly been a fan. Not only of her music —which she produces— but of the spaces she creates uniquely for LGBTQ+ people as well. For our very special Pride Issue, I’m thrilled to have Mikaela as one of our featured cover stars, celebrating the next generation of queer voices and visionaries. P.S Cheersing to this launch with a hot cappuccino! It doesn’t get any ‘Closer’ to a dream than celebrating the first day of Pride with @teganandsara talking about none other than High School. Their memoir is truly such a beautiful reflection of coming-of-age and the discovery of self-truths. It’s a story filled with visceral emotions, and above all, is a testament to the power of the pivotal experiences we have as young people.
Happy birthday, Dad. It means the world to say 💙

First stop on our band’s tour was the #MetGala. *Not pictured: Cher
No. 56 camp taste is a kind of love, love for human nature. It relishes, rather than judges, the little triumphs and awkward intensities of “character “... Camp taste identifies with what people are enjoying. People who share this sensibility are not laughing at the thing they label as “a camp”, they’re enjoying it. Camp is a tender feeling. No words could better sum up how I feel after my first #MetGala than those of the legend Susan Sontag herself.
A few months ago, my life changed in a really big way. I became the Executive Editor of @them and came out, via press release, to almost every single person I met and knew before moving to New York City. Including my friends and family. In these few months, I have had countless unimaginable, pinch-me-I’m-dreaming moments. I’ve also worked harder and been challenged like never before. My team and I put all of our creative energy into this cover. Into making what at first, felt like a fantasy, come to life. There was no better person to spotlight in this moment, this new chapter, than @janellemonae. And what better person to interview her than @lizzobeeating? Janelle Monáe is personal hero of mine. Always evolving sonically and aesthetically, today, Janelle is entering a new era of her genre-bending career. The constant, though, is her work, which remains centered in advocacy, agency, and empowerment, regardless of what form it takes. With reverence for the responsibility of an artist and activist, she uses every platform she builds to amplify intersectional discourse about race, gender, and sexuality in new ways. Janelle takes action in a way that makes everyone take notice. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to @frenchgold and @solangefranklin for making our first cover so divinely stunning. And HUGE thank yous and congratulations to the entire @them team, especially @keaton.kilde.bell, @pkv15, @aaminasdfghjkl, @tylertry, and @wes.t.j! And of course, to @willahbennett for holding my hand and being the biggest fan of this project from the start. ✨✨✨ Hair Stylist: @nikkinelms Makeup Artist: @jessicasmalls Set Designer: @kaaatessstein Manicurist: @shespolished Video: @pitch__please

First of all, I had no business at fourteen using the word “NICHE” in my diary. Second of all..... on the last day of my first #NYFW, I have to say, I think my fourteen-year-old self would “completely enjoy” knowing how things have turned out. Even though I never took the “amazing trip to Brazil in July”.
I’ve never actually admitted this to anyone other than @willahbennett but... I shed quite a few happy tears when I read the news that @pfpicardi was launching an LGBTQ+ publication at Condé Nast. Though it had yet to take shape, I knew immediately it was something that I somehow wanted to be a part of. Throughout my time at @teenvogue, I’ve loved watching @them blossom and grow at the hands of so many of my extraordinarily talented friends and people whose work I’ve long admired. It was somewhat of a joke that I was an “honorary” part of them, and I am so excited to *officially* continue the publication’s groundbreaking work. I have so much to share and so many people to thank and be thankful for, but for now this is me sharing, “some personal news”. ❤️🌈
