If you’ve been looking for a way to help the children who came home from their first day of school to find their parents had been taken, now you can donate to support the incredible local organizations that have been responding. Link in bio #familiesbelongtogether
Our beloved Dr. Morrison. Thank you for the bounty of gifts you have given us as a culture and as humans. Sula. Song of Solomon. The Bluest Eye. Beloved. We’ll never be the same. To say that we will miss you feels far too small. To the moon and back.....

Not sure what to post after so much loss of life this weekend. But found these words from @sharonsalzberg. For those of us who are alive to remember that we have the ability and a responsibility to act. Those no longer with us are counting on us. Many thanks to @shannonrwatts & @amberkgoodwin for your leadership. Follow them for next steps on gun safety. And time to double down in our fight against white nationalism. #elpaso #dayton

Message from Agnes: stay cool & cute #Agnesdiaries
The House will vote today on the Raise the Wage Act. Two thirds of all minimum wage workers are women and disproportionately women of color. This is a feminist bill. Let’s do this! Call your member of Congress & tell them how important it is to you.
Walked the halls of Congress with @domesticworkers looking for support for the #domesticworkersbillofrights & found a lot of it. Thank you to all the members of Congress who met with us, and stepped forward as champions! Special love to our House lead sponsor @repjayapal, Senate lead sponsor @kamalaharris & @repbarbaralee who spent part of her birthday with us. ❤️❤️
Today is the day. I’m here in Washington DC with our members because @kamalaharris @repjayapal have introduced the National #domesticworkersbillofrights - addressing more than 8 decades of exclusion, and paving the way for these important jobs to become truly good jobs. Read my piece in @nytopinion & join us. Link in bio.
Happy #fourthofjuly. Special shout out to all the organizers whose spirit & commitment give me hope that our nation can one day realize its promise. And thank you @padmalakshmi for this delicious-looking statement of patriotism. #ClosetheCamps
Yesterday thousands of us came out for #ClosetheCamps protests in more than 185 locations around the country — we will not stand for this treatment of migrant families (or anyone) in this country. And we’ll organize for as long as it takes. Stay engaged & connected at familiesbelongtogether.org. This photo is from the protest in NM. Photo credit: @shayanhathaway @fams2gether
I’m not sure how I got so lucky to work alongside this extraordinary woman for almost 15 years. Congratulations @sarita7697 on 22 years at @jwjnational. She leads with integrity & authenticity & generosity & courage & built so many movements in the way that only she could. Thank you for everything sister — you should be so proud. I cannot wait to see what the future will bring.
Philadelphia: We’re here at City Hall because it’s time to pass the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. You have a chance to make history, address inequality, and create security for the women working in our homes. Let’s do this! P.S. Also this group of fierce women is coming back and with more women each time if you don’t. 🥰 @domesticworkers #domesticworkersbillofrights
Today I joined @alfonsocuaron @participant @colleendecourcy at #CannesLions to share our social impact lessons from @romacuaron - real change is not about transactions. It’s about shared purpose, authentic partnerships and hard work. Artists & movements can catalyze real transformation when these things come together. Special shout out to @theteenyweeny & @nicolestarr917 who did so much work on this campaign so that we could win for @domesticworkers
Happy #internationaldomesticworkersday to all. A day to honor the women whose work makes everything else possible. @domesticworkers And Happy Father’s Day too!
Grateful to work for these women - the @domesticworkers Board of Directors and the women we all serve.
Co-working at new @the.wing location in Chicago with my pal @anna.galland - it’s lovely!!
Me. Happy at the #ChicagoBluesFest
Yep. She’s back. Didn’t know you needed this, did you? #agnesdiaries #nieces❤️
What a week. The patriarchy is relentless. Times like these I’m grateful for the organizing that gives us a way to give voice to our anger & unity - sign up for an action on Tuesday at stopabortionbans.org. Also grateful for rose gold nail polish. Made me feel a little better today. #WeWontGoBack #rosegoldnails

Dear Mom, I think I’m becoming more like you every day. Even when I was younger and I thought we were opposite, I knew you were in me. We were always the two people in the theater watching romantic comedies crying the hardest. Sometimes the only people crying. You did that to me. :) These days I cry more, not less. I think part of the staff orientation at @domesticworkers is preparing new staff for their director spontaneously crying in meetings. But I know it's because I inherited your heart. Your heart made you want to be a doctor. It drew you to want to serve people with cancer — a disease with no cure. You have a capacity for caring that every patient of yours I have ever met has raved to me about. Their letters and cards to you capture it all: you never gave up on me. You fought for us. You believed we could beat the cancer, and you did everything in your power to help us do so. We ended up on different paths, but I suppose they are similar in a way. I’m fighting a different kind of cancer — it's a cancer that has infected our entire body politic — and made life in this country less safe, less dignified, and less free for the majority of people in our nation. And in the end it’s life threatening for all of us — the whole country. That’s why I’m really excited about @supermajority. It’s a new home for women’s activism — for all of us (and we really are the majority) who think it's time we rid ourselves of the cancer that threatens our future and harness our power to create the country we deserve and know is possible. Happy #MothersDay, Mom. May we rid ourselves of the cancers that prevent us from truly living well. And may we always cry it out when we need to. That’s good too. I love you, Ai-jen
Happening NOW in DC on the anniversary of “zero humanity,” policy — an instillation to remind us of the human cost of family separation. So grateful to the artists in our movement who capture & honor the heartbreak of this moment & remind us what’s at stake. Thank you @paolamendoza @sarahsophief & the @fams2gether team ❤️
Today marks the one year anniversary of the administration’s directive to separate thousands of children from their families at the border. Out of the immeasurable pain & trauma of the last year, we come together today to reaffirm our commitment to each other, to keeping children & families whole and healthy & to fighting #untileveryfamilyisreunited @fams2gether - beautiful artwork by @mishazadeh
Thumbs up from Agnes for making it through another week & signing up for @supermajority so we can be powerful together! Let’s do this! #supermajority
It's AAPI Heritage Month & I’m proud to celebrate the strength & vast diversity of our community. This whole month we’ll be lifting up the great work & AAPI leaders lifting up our communities & the highlighting need for better representation, because we are #PhenomenallyAsian. T-shirt by @phenomenal.ly benefits @NAPAWF, which builds power with AAPI women & girls.
Happy 4th birthday to my amazing niece Agnes! 🎂#AgnesDiaries
