Repost: @mbartmuseum.... Are you ready for a sneak peek? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exhibiting artist and activist, Alejandro Durán, has been visiting the Art Museum for the past few days to prepare his portion of the exhibition, Can’t You Sea? | Ocean Plastic ARTifacts. Durán’s process is delightfully unconventional, utilizing his broom as a paintbrush. Through the medium of photography, Alejandro Durán arranges the plastic debris he finds washed up on Mexico’s Caribbean coast into colorful, fantastical landscapes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To see more of Alejandro’s work, along with five other talented artists/activists, be sure to visit us for the Opening Day of Can’t You Sea? | Ocean Plastic ARTifacts on Saturday, June 15!

Every day is Earth Day! Last week with the @washedupproject we worked with the youth of Punta Allen to create this image with plastic that washes ashore on their coastlines every day. We played percussion on instruments we made from garbage and a rainbow circling the sun accompanied us for an hour.... What a day!!! #washedupproject
