Happy birthday Gid!

Whoops, almost forgot to self-promote (and @contrapoints-promote) on this here platform. If you want to read a short fun piece about a good thing on the internet, then, as the kids say, please do look within my bio for a hyperlink that will automatically direct your phone's browser to the URL of said article

Going on Chris Hayes's show on MSNBC in 20 minutes. This should give you enough time to get to Best Buy, pick up a decent-size TV, install it, and probably catch me mid-first block. Go go go

Not normally a #selfie guy, but feeling the need to document this magnificently terrible book-draft playoff beard before I get it under control. It's a pretty good visual representation of how much I've let everything slide recently (that is, everything that's not staring at a notebook or a blinking cursor). All praises (and apologies) due to @saaaaahrah for picking up my slack. Who says men can't have it all?
We get each other.
13 pics of this particular Kid Kombination. This was the closest to "posed" I could find.
Forgot to post this at the time. Auntie rel, superreader

When the MTA sends an urgent Zamboni squad to the already spotless 2nd Ave subway. Feel free to send one of those to literally any other subway stop anytime! #brokenwindows

Hey if you have a TV you should watch Comedy Central tonight at 11:30. Otherwise you can watch it tomorrow. The show's called The Opposition, hosted by Jordan Klepper (above, tall). I'm on it but honestly the rest of the episode is really funny, way funnier than me talking about death threats and kiddie porn. Enjoy!
Whoops, almost forgot to self-promote on here. For a few years, I've wanted to get inside a big social-media company and watch it make tough decisions about what to let slide and what to ban. Finally, Reddit, the fourth-biggest site in the country, let me in, and I wrote about it for this week's New Yorker. The piece is about Reddit, but it's also about free speech, hate speech, Facebook, Twitter, the marketplace of ideas, etc. It raises more questions than answers, but here's one thought I kept returning to: no meaningful progress can happen until tech executives admit that they are gatekeepers with enormous power. Anyway, link in bio, as they say.
