In 2016, the @nyccouncil passed legislation, I penned, creating the observance of #ThreeFifthsClauseAwarenessDay in NYC. This legislation calls on the federal government #AMEND3FIFTHSCLAUSE to add language that directly negates #THERACISTCLAUSE by stating that African-Americans are 100 percent whole individuals and declare March 5th as #ThreeFifthsClauseAwarenessDay in New York City. Join us on March 5 at 7 p.m. for an evening of events for #ThreeFifthsClauseAwarenessDay @HostosCommunityCollege

Many people think of the Friday after Thanksgiving Day as a good shopping day but for the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program it's a great day to share holiday stories with people born 'Generations" before. Today, the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program spent time with the seniors at Workmen Circle, proving them with hugs and holiday cheer and songs.

This summer, we have traveled throughout the Bronx to honor a few of our departed brothers and sisters in an extraordinary way. We started with the street co-naming of Sandy E. Gresham, Reverend Dr. Simpson, Ms. Burmadine Hinds, my father Andy “Pops” King Jr., and ended with JW Smith. Their legacy will live on in our hearts and now their very own street. #wewillalwaysrememberyou
