Over the past seven days, I camped in Big Sur, bathed naked at 1am in the sulphur hot springs at Esalen, saw four shooting stars, walked in the redwoods, rode one of the world’s best bike rides, took a cedar enzyme bath, kayaked on the Russian River, turned 33. DAY 7. 70 miles from Ventura down the coast to the finish line in LA. One cracked helmet, two pairs of cleats, one gigantic bruise, lots of scrapes, an insane amount of graham cracker and PB&J sandwiches. 545 miles for the 5th year in a row and rode every single one. Seven days ago I picked up a scared and aggressive little pup for a trial adoption. He was found on the streets and taken to a shelter, where @fosterforcharlie stepped in to rescue him. He did not like me at all when we met, but I had a feeling he was just freaking out because he had lost his place in the world. Mikey found his forever home with me.
