It’s a Jeep and a frozen river. Couch to v0 is a lifestyle. Come @ me. Not sure what the deal is but Charlie is mia in this still. Apologies.
Safety is at least somewhere in our top quarter of priorities. Seemed safeish tho. Definitely epiccccc. We spent prolly 6 hrs between yesterday and today watching and listening to this bad boiiii calving. This was at the very edge of a massive glacial field. “I’ve never been more willing to risk my safety for an experience than I was today” - abbi Did seem fairly safe tho imho
When we got the big Jeep we kept saying how easy the trip to Alaska would be this summer. We’ll have an entire apartment with us, full amenities, etc. turns out driving to Alaska is still involved... we are in the middle of BC now. Rocking WiFi at an A&W. If this isn’t overlanding I’m out
Couple digital stills of our special guy celebrating his nature. Look closely at the way he’s. Dog is not for sale.
Bois week is said and done. Charlie and I had some nice times, some silly times, and some times. Glad to have the fam back together and to be questing for Alaska. Here’s a gentleman whomst hit me with the mad invite to peep some falls and flail in a river. Xoxo @es_dons
Welcome to the big Jeep. Boys only. At least till Friday. @abbihearne come back... also, quick PSA: check out my story highlight “BôÿsW33k” for the real inspiring content. Giving the people what they want, since Monday 2019
Happy belated bday to this kid @irumohr. I met his squad at glacier point during one of our photo shoots with @theHearnes. They recognized us from LinkedIn or something and Isaac asked me to grab some photos of him for his bday. I agreed and the homie proceeds to charge onto the sketch diving board in true local fashion. Our Australian groom shouts “you wanna live to see your next birthday mate!” Instant Classic...
Well there you have it. We went to yos. ‘‘Twas hype. Got to abseil the big stone, we took pics of peeps in love. And I followed a cable. Treat yourself to the adventure of a lifetime and watch my story highlight “the cable”
We are Yosemite bound in a few days. We thought this would be the first time in 4 ish years we would miss out on yose in the winter... but it’s looking like the sierras have a different idea of “spring.” Here’s a shot from winter time last year when we lived in the Bromaster van.
Why walk when you can fly? Not sure what your deal is, but if you’re not following @briannamadia & @keithmadia they are THE next big thing in elopement adventure love epic pictures photography wilderness. Here’s an insta banger of a digital still shot by BriA N N A or Keith. Not sure. But 💯🔥imho *** It has come to my attention that the truest @keithmadia is in fact responsible for this image. ***
I’ve always been an advocate of lifestyle risk taking. So often culture creates status-quo traps that make peeps feel immobilized and stuck. Abbi and I were chatting the other day about this very idea. For example such as: exhibit A human has X job in Y city, stated human feels that the only option is continuing X job within Y city or all life “progress” will be at stake. Which is fair. Because if you bail from X and Y they might not be awaiting your return. But I propose that the life progress that’s really at stake could very well be job C in city Q. Thus henceforthly if a passion is drawing you from the status quo, be a millennial and live yo truth and mad bail from the status quo. Just some basic philosophication from yours truly. This photo is a prime example because we were planning to spend the night at a lake but got mad shutdown by snow and audibled to this rad campsite. There are a lot of stars out there and there are a lot of ways to have them align.
The Hearne squad has been charging the last few days. Questing dirt roads, climbing rocks, topping out a peak in the la sal and snowsportsing, because the dark times are nearing. We will soon leave our facility in the desert in search of cooler climates. Moab is home no doubt, but ish gets warm imho. Yosemite walley and the great AK are on the travel schedule.
This wander babe rocking industry standard yellow jacket and ball cap. My bro in law Conner, @another_whitemale_artist gets to join the Hearne dynasty on occasion to officiate weddings. He’s a character and an actual artist that paints and thinks about stuff and such. Cool guy. Check out his ish or search @thehearnes posts for his mad officiating portfolio
Hyperspace was an alternate dimension that could only be reached by traveling at or faster than the speed of light. Hyperdrives enabled starships to travel through hyperspace lanes across great distances, enabling travel and exploration throughout the galaxy. Thought you guys should know.
Get on over to @cannonjtc’s insta live from yesterday. He and mark are climbing’s cutest couple rn and you don’t wanna miss this. Here’s some additional digital still frames from a day in castle walley
Life’s short. Jeep it.
Aaron @livingstonaaron steps up to bat, insists upon a “collective heel-hook” @koepnickkiersa captures the moment. Scene next, we pay regards to Jeep week. 3rd scene, lovers reunited, desert and mountains similarly unified but in a geological manner rather than sociological. End scene, the culmination of an impulse trek with two of my faves.
Jug hauling on castle rock tower butte. @cannonjtc sets fear aside and floats to the chains in true guide fashion. Mr. hudon awaits heroically.
He may not lock carabiners, but he can lock a hand-jam. Mark Hudon and my boi Jordan Cannon are ablaze crushing classics and leaving no prisoners. Tune in for more glory
Real talk I thought this mission was sub 20% success rate when we finally left town. “Safety” @sketchyandylewis assured me we were at a solid 50/50. I guess I’d underestimated the raw talent in this dirtbag squad. 10 hrs later we’d collectively summited two heady towers, hucked 4 BASE jumps (jimmy and Andy), rigged a line, and jugged to freedom. Mad shouts out to the squad: @sylvanslacks @thehomiehome @jimmypeterson27 @sketchyandylewis
Ima shoot you folks straight. I was the lowered mustang guy in high school. 2003 automatic v6, with the mad red LED interior lights, life was sweet. But if you told me I’d one day own a dually diesel truck and a got dang Jeep there’s no way I’d have believed you. Long story short: Adapt, React, Readapt, Apt.
Getting stoked for a long season in the desert. We’ve been posted up in Page, Az teaching some workshops and such and I’ve been finding every opportunity to make the most of the fine chilly weather. Rainy desert days means waterfall hunting, and the harvest was plentiful this week. Scope this mega rager down stream from the dirty glen canyon dam. About 700ft vertical drop. Hype imho
Happy 10th birthday Charlie! And happy v day sweet Abigail :)
Whoville is a fictional town created by author Theodor Seuss Geisel, under the name Dr. Seuss. Whoville appeared in the books Horton Hears a Who! and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!; however, there were significant differences between the two renditions. The population of Whoville consists of Mr. and Mrs. Mayors and all of their children and the Grinch.
So we are in Switzerland getting ready to pick up a fire caravan rental. Homie just sent me a WhatsApp message and it’s basically a blacked out diesel version of our Promaster whomst we loved. I amassed about 11 days of experience driving stick shift last January in South America and I think I’m ready for some frozen steep terrifying roads in the alps. Picked up an inReach over the holidays so I’m feeling all time. And yes, our vacation is just a continuation of hectic van life, but in a diff place where logistics will be even more hectic. R&r lvl over 9,000
Super proud of my wife, and very tolerative of my boi dog. Stay tuned for my next obligatory monthly post.
Ya this is probs my new fave. Thanks @abbihearne for the positive peer pressure to go outside and freeze to get these digital stills. This is a 3 shot composite. V stoked on snow-ab
If you’re not hang dawging up a bolted line on Wall Street as an 18 wheeler hauls by and a drone buzzes obnoxiously overhead you may as well just leave moab and go back to Cali... but @cannonjtc nailed it on his first day climbing in moab. Against veteran @livingstonaaron ‘s recommendation jordan laid siege to this mile of curbside routes ticking off classics, getting sandbagged by me, attempting to trust sandy feet, sewing it up (very uncharacteristic) and generally over-stoking on climbing. Aaron of course delivered a proper desert tour after Jordan’s wallstreet sending spree, more on that soon.
So this lil guy is bordering on 10 years of age. He’s just gotten more and more attention seeking, playful, and cute. What do I do???
Why walk when you can fly?? Disclaimer. I am not good at operating this moto. Actually working on a Lil vid from a failed moto quest the other day in moab. But ya. This is pretty standard out in the moab suburbs. If you’re around and wanna brappp the gnar / lay down our bikes repetitively hmu. Btw I wear a helmet... this was going super slow
Who cares about Jordan Cannon anyway? The man has only one look for Christ’s sake! Blue Steel? Ferrari? Le Tigra? They’re the same face! Doesn’t anybody notice this? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills! @cannonjtc having too much fun in his element on the big stone. I on the other hand was strucketh with the fear through out our 6 day quest... shot on #goprohero
We always get looks driving this Jeep around. But tell you what. The looks we got from oncoming vehicles on the Shafer switchbacks were just gold. Our opposition was oft taken aback by their allocation of the narrow dirt road but I always assured them it was best that we were heading uphill towards them rather than downhill towards them. #broverlanding
How it feels to be back in moab for the month. Bought a month long pass to the rec center and feeling v local.
Ak for the win tbh. Hoping for 3 months next year!
“Now that’s a motorhome” - every time we get gas... #broverlanding
How bouts some 5.12+ for breakfast? Try hard face mandatory. @bradgobright full send, full grimace, full glory.
Zoom in on his face. Wowewewew
Wanted to make a special shout outs to my dude Pat @papa_noel8. This guy flew one way to anchorage to join Charlie and I on our quest back to the lower 48 this past August. We’ve been buddies since college and an impulsive cross-continental quest was warmly welcomed. Here, mermaid pat is found in his natural watery habitat.
I’ve been photographing rock climbing for 2 years or so and its one of my favorite things. Witnessing the concentration and prowess of climbers like my boi @cannonjtc is always inspiring. Here’s a training lap on “pump lust” 5.13b as jordan preps for a sportier big wall season in Yosemite this fall
Long story short. We moved into the new rig. It’s hype. #broverland
I’ve been on IG hiatus for a while now. Life has been super hectic. 1,000’s of miles driven, one way flights, just madness tbh. But here we are, tear-filled eyes listing our little homestead for sale. We’re moving into a bigger setup. Sold. Xoxo
My bud buds :)
Alright multiple months later... link in profile to a film I made of @cannonjtc and @blue_korduroy climbing in Owens river gorge. Check it out on the YouTube.
“thumbs are overrated” - Charlie
Finally exporting a little vid of @cannonjtc’s “yosemite fitness test” from the Owens river gorge this spring. The motion image will premiere tomorrow at @verticalhold (San Diego) during Jordan’s presentation about climbing, mentorship, and dreaming big. Also stay tuned for a link to said vid in my own IG profile... (disclaimer) this is all highly dependent on Canadian starbucks WiFi on none other than Canada day. May the upload force be with us all.
