The home of the @mancity Blues, the City of Manchester Stadium, has also been home to many great events, from the Commonwealth Games to the recent @spicegirls reunion tour. The venue is one of the largest stadiums in the FA Premier League, and was constructed by John Laing PLC using our self-compacting concrete to anchor the blocks supporting its roof. ⚽️🇬🇧
The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, is the third largest stadium in Britain. But perhaps its more impressive feature—aside from its long history—is its fully retractable roof, which can leave the field open in just 20 minutes. To make this possible, we supplied 47,000m of partly self-compacting ready-mix concrete for its supporting columns, in addition to 65,000m of close textured blocks for the exterior exposed walling and many materials more. ⚽️🇬🇧

For Germany's Leipzig City Tunnel, we provided technical and logistical expertise, along with more than 350,000 cubic meters of concrete. With this image we celebrate the life and legacy of the great architect César Pelli @pcparch, who passed away last week at the age of 92. Mr. Pelli, an Argentine-American, was passionate about evoking emotional responses through his designs and created renowned buildings such as the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. He was recognized with hundreds of distinctions, including our 2006 Life and Achievement Award for his outstanding career and contributions to the welfare and culture of society. In Montpellier, France, a 50-meter high tree rises on the banks of the River Lez. It is L’Arbre Blanc, a 17-story residential building designed by renowned Japanese architect @sou_fujimoto Fujimoto, who achieved the structure’s unique shape with 194 balcony spaces. The White Tree was completed in the incredible lapse of just three months, using our fast-drying concrete to build one floor every six days. 💪🏼 cc. @cemex_france 🇫🇷
Built by Augustus II the Strong; reinforced by us. Against the backdrop of Dresden’s historic Old Town, the Augusts Bridge has stood over the Elbe River for centuries. We’ve taken on the challenge to renovate this structure while conserving its historical value, each of the bridge’s arches and piers will be equipped with reinforced colored concrete slabs for a new waterproofing system, which will allow the construction to stand for years to come. Work is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2020. 🇩🇪
3,285 meters of our innovative concrete stretch above the Gulf of Mexico in La Unidad, the second longest bridge in Mexico, and fifth in Latin America. After the existing bridge became damaged with years of use, the new one is an upgrade that combines different types of our concrete to protect it from corrosion, expansion, and provide extra strengthening to ensure a long service life. Estadio Borregos is a space for sports, art, and culture in Monterrey, Mexico. The newly inaugurated stadium was designed by @beckgroup to develop the wide-ranging talents of the students at @tecdemonterrey, and has a capacity for 10,000 spectators. Hôtel Lutetia @hotellutetia opened its doors to history in 1910. This Art Déco hotel housed many important figures like Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway, becoming an important landmark in Paris. Preserving its heritage was a key concern during its 2014-2018 renovations, for which we supplied a custom-made concrete mix that was light enough to be supported by the building’s original structure. Sapphire is the first residential project in Europe for @daniellibeskind in which we proudly participated by supplying more than 5,000 cubic meters of concrete. This spectacular apartment complex, whose façade resembles the edges of a gem, was completed in 2017 and has easily positioned itself as an architectural jewel in Berlin.
The construction of Notre-Dame Cathedral @notredamedeparis began in 1163, and was completed almost 200 years later. For centuries, Our Lady of Paris has been one of the greatest expressions of Gothic architecture. Mulini Beach is a project inspired by the movement of the sea at the fishing port in Rovinj, Croatia. As water level can daily vary, the tides influence was a major factor when envisioning this project. Designed by Studio 3LHD, we supplied white cement for this beautiful connection between the city of Rovinj and its park, Punta Corrente.

For this project, we installed an on-site plant that supplied more than 100,000 m3 of different compressive strength classes concrete and shortened transport distances to reduce CO2 emissions.
