I haven’t been counting macros for about 2 months now and so far so good! TBH I really love not overthinking my food & workouts— I like putting energy into just living an overall balanced and healthy life 🙆🏼♀️ . Now that I’m eating intuitively the only “guidelines” I have for myself is 3 servings of veggies a day 🥬 and aiming to eat protein with each meal. So nothing too strict—just little things to help me eat more of a balanced diet! . Okay so—I don’t know if you have a go-to breakfast but recently I’ve started making smoothies post workout and it’s been a great way to get in whole foods like fruit, plus a serving of veggies & protein 💪🏼 . For veggies I do a big handful of spinach (realized as I was about to make this I forgot to grab the spinach for the actual pic—whoops!) But always spinach & then @ancientnutrition’scmulti collagen protein. Guys, this stuff is GOOD 💯 . @ancientnutrition’s multi collagen protein blends soooo well—all you can taste is the flavor. It dissolves completely & there’s no aftertaste (my biggest pet peeve with protein powders!) I rarely ever share these photos anymore because TBH I find them a little annoying but ☝🏼 today marks an important day and reason that I want to share this with you. . 3 years ago today, I woke up from surgery with screws & plates in my jaw, my jaw wired shut, and a fractured arm (good times 😂). The night before I had fainted at work and literally landed on my face shattering my jaw and a bunch of teeth (yes a lot of my teeth are fake #funfactsyoudidntknow 😜) . Anyways! I say all this and share this because I remember within just a few days of the trauma & being on an all liquid diet I lost about 10 lbs. Before I fell, I weighed around 127 lbs and all of the sudden I was at 117 lbs (for reference I’m 5’9”) . And you know what? At the time a sick part of me liked that number. I knew I should gain back the weight but I didn’t think I really *needed* too. I mean, I looked good right?! Eek 😳😅 . After a few weeks, I finally got my act together and realized that I really wasn’t at a healthy weight, and I needed to stop glamorizing that number on the scale. Gaining back the weight wasn’t easy—it was definitely a hard thing to process mentally. But overtime you learn that strength and confidence doesn’t come from that number on the scale. . I just say all this because I know there’s still moments where you may struggle with seeing that number on the scale. My advice? Ditch the scale. Focus on creating healthy and sustainable habits that allow you to LIVE YOUR LIFE. Focus on how you FEEL. As you can see 👆🏼👆🏼 that number on the scale doesn’t matter. There’s a 22 lb difference between this photos and the right is someone that is more confident, strong, and comfortable in her own skin. And that eats donuts on the regular 🍩 So yeah, what lifestyle is the real winner here 😏 #donutsalwayswin . Anyway! Just my two cents and something I wanted to share with y’all. 🚘 What kind of car do y’all drive?! I have had my 2007 Toyota Camry since, well, 2007 😜 I love it because ☝🏼 it’s been paid off since then but ✌🏼it’s been a super reliable car. Howeverrrr, I have been super interested in upgrading to an SUV at some point in the near future 😏 . Earlier this month, I had the chance to drive @localtoyotadealers #ToyotaRAV4 for a few days. I decided because @johannna was here we should do something fun - even a little out of my comfort zone. One thing I've never really loved is hiking. It just didn't feel like a valuable workout so the fitness/macro obsessed version of me felt very meh about it. But with the scorching Raleigh heat, a trip up into the mountains felt more appealing all of a sudden. . We headed out for a quick trip to Blowing Rock and what we thought was going to be a nice hike turned into getting lost, crazy winds, meeting a biker gang (read: middle aged Dads) of Canadians and some pretty amazing views 🏔!! All in all, it was an adventure, to say the least, and I have to say....as much as I love my 2007 Camry...I definitely wouldn’t mind upgrading 🤗 . Some of the features I really loved about the new #ToyotaRAV4 👇🏼 ✨ Panoramic sunroof ☀️(a few months ago I told Stephen this was a feature I really wanted in my next car) ✨Heated seats ✨Dual air controls (each person can adjust their exact temperature) ✨Back up camera (that also assists with parallel parking #bless 🙏🏼) ✨Cruise control that automatically slows down when you get too close to the car in front of you ✨Navigation system 🧭 (there were actually a few times in the mountains we couldn’t get service with our phones but the car navigation still worked perfectly 👌🏼) . I then had a pretty big epiphany 💡I realized that while there is a time and place for a good sweat sesh & healthy eating, there is waaaay more to life than that. . So I stopped counting macros. Stopped being so fixated on workouts and started sharing what really makes me feel my best each day. Daily eats (the “healthy” stuff & the donuts 🍩), my personal style, Fritz 🐶, make up favorites, personal struggles, Stephen’s IG story takeovers, our marriage, etc. I think you get it 😏 I want to empower you to do it all and live your best damn life while doing it. Think of this place as your ultimate destination for tips on living your best (relatable/attainable!!) life 💁🏼♀️ . At the end of the day—I am just trying to be transparent and real with y’all & hope that through doing that & sharing my daily life that it has a positive impact. The word “real” is so overused but know that I mean it when I say it. What you see is what you get. Some of you know this already, but for anyone that has followed along more recently—last year I started getting my certification as a health coach at IIN ( @nutritionschool). Why? Well, because I wanted to be a health coach!! . Well guys, TBH I have no idea if I want to coach anymore. As y’all know, I’ve gone through a big shift recent and if I’m honest with myself (and you), I’m still trying to figure a lot of it out. . I’m not entirely sure what my next step is, but I’m still really glad that I went through IIN’s program. ☝🏼because if I do pursue health coaching in the future I know it’s one of the most recognized and best programs but ✌🏼it helped me realize how much I was neglecting other parts of my health. . You know that I went through this huge shift in Italy, and I felt like when I got back, everything I had been learning in IIN about health from a holistic approach finally hit me. I feel like I now truly understand what it means to be healthy, and it doesn’t revolve around macros or how many times a week I workout. . Having a more holistic approach now I feel 100x better physically and mentally. Okay maybe 100 is a bit of a stretch lol but sometimes you don’t realize how heavily something is weighing on you until you totally disconnect from it. And then once it’s no longer on your radar, you realize how much (mental) time and energy it was taking up. Can anyone relate? Or do I just sound like a crazy person? 🤪 . Ps. Planned on posting a different photo tonight but it didn’t feel right given how I’ve been feeling today (also—a selfie? 🤳🏼 Don’t know who I am but kind of into it? Anyway). . I’ve worked in all different types of jobs. Serving/bartending. Tutoring. Retail. For a marketing firm. For a hospital as a RN. And for myself. . Most days I love working for myself but one thing I’ve learned is that with your own business the highs are high and the lows are low. Some days you feel like things couldn’t be better and everything is going in the right direction and then other days you feel discouraged and doubtful. . Sometimes I think of everything Stephen and I are working on and feel super excited and motivated because I feel like we are going to build great things. But then there’s other days that are filled with uncertainty and doubt and wonder if we’re actually going to achieve the things we’ve set out to do. Those days are less often than not, but let’s be honest, life isn’t a fairy tale and not everyone who starts a business is a success story. . I know social media, (especially bloggers & influencers since it’s part of their job) can make it seem like everything is pretty & perfect all the time. I want you to know that that just isn’t the case. Yes, I love this job and I love working for myself but it’s also hard AF. Yes, I feel super blessed and grateful for the life we have, but it’s not perfect. . This is just a little reminder that no one’s life is perfect despite what you may see in these tiny squares! 🖤

For a long time I was told that to be successful in this space you need to “niche down.” But you know what will kill your success faster than not niching down? Being INAUTHENTIC. . I don’t want to paint the wrong picture here. I don’t want you to think I hated counting macros, sharing about how to find balance, what my workouts were like to hit certain goals etc. But it started to get to a point when I would go to write posts on those topics, and it felt icky 🤢 I wanted to give you tools & resources to achieve balance while hitting your goals but in the back of my mind I’d be like— Is this the message that I want to share? Is this what’s important to me? 🤔 There would be times I’d think—I’m going on vacation this weekend, and TBH there’s more to focus on than my macros and workouts...there’s more to life...BUT I need to be a resource for people. . I felt stuck. But I kept telling myself—you’re helping people!!! And you need to niche down to be successful...so just keep doing it and stop asking questions and over-analyzing😶 . But overtime I realized I wasn’t over analyzing. I felt like my calling and purpose was to go beyond the macro counting, workout talk, and to actually just share how to live your best life in general. And that’s exactly what I’m trying to do now. . I know a lot of you may have originally followed along for all those things above. I hope that they helped give you a great foundation for fitness & nutrition like they did for me. But I also hope that I can be a source of inspiration beyond that, and just help you live your best life 🥰
We made it to Blowing Rock and found doughnuts! 🏔🍩 Right before Jo & I stuffed our faces with chicken tenders and fries 🍟 And before that my food consisted of a bag of veggie sticks in the car while driving here 🚗 soooo basically living our best lives and #thriving 👏🏼👯♀️ just a reminder that you can have days where you just eat whatever and not give AF and it’s all good 😎 Tomorrow we’re going to be exploring Blowing Rock more but for now I’m just wondering about our next meal...what’s for dinner?! 😆

2 years ago today we said “I do” !! 🤵🏻👰🏼 On our wedding day we said our own vows, and that was one of the best things I remember about that day (besides having my own massive donut wall 😉🍩). It was just such a special moment 💑 One of the things I said was that I feel like I’m in a fairytale with you. I know that sounds super cliche & cheesy, but I honestly don’t know what I did to deserve this life with Stephen. . Two years later, I still feel that exact same way. No, things aren’t perfect (like this morning when I was like “OMG YOURE BEING SO ANNOYING” 🤣 ) but we respect each other, do everything to support each other’s dreams, and are always able to laugh together. . Happy 2 years babe! You are the best teammate I could ask for. I love you too much! ❤️ PS. Sharing more wedding photos on stories!

Okay, okay so despite all the recent travel, my @one1brands fam DID NOT dissapoint! This was such a good trip guys. I got to reconnect with old friends (@jera.bean!! 💓) and also meet some new ones 🤗 getting to meet some of you in person was seriously the best! It’s funny because after we met, I’d go look at our DMs and realize we’d been talking for like YEARS. Is that not crazy?! Just continues to reassure me that we’d be friends IRL too and not just on the gram 😏 . Aside from hanging out with you IRL, the other best part about this job is getting to partner with truly amazing brands. I mean, y’all already knew my love for @one1brands cos I had been sharing them all over stories for months 😂 but then getting a chance to partner with them & be a part of amazing events like this...I’m just very grateful!! ✈️ Checked out this AM & currently at the airport eating a bagel with cream cheese 🥯 (why are bagels so damn good?!) And I’m just sitting here thinking about the weight that has been lifted off my shoulders. Not to be dramatic, but just hear me out 🙃 . You know how sometimes you don’t even realize the pressure you put on yourself until you’re on the other side of things? 🤔 I remember a couple months ago I was in the airport, and I couldn’t find a macro-friendly breakfast. I was literally walking around the whole airport just trying to find something to hit my macros 😩 (even though I would have loved a bagel...I mean, who doesn’t love bagels?!) . Today though, I wanted a bagel so you know what I did? I ordered a bagel. I know. Shocking 🤪 . I don’t think counting macros, or having a strict workout regimen is bad by any means. I mean, I counted macros for 3+ years so I obviously get it. And it’s a great tool & resource for me still. But after a while, I felt like I was using it to reach a goal that didn’t align with me anymore. . I’m here to tell you that your goal doesn’t have to be a 6 pack. And you don’t have to constantly adjust your macros or workout to grow your butt. You don’t always have to be working towards a so-called “fitness goal.” I mean, you don’t EVER have to be working towards a specific fitness goal if that’s not what you want for your life. It’s okay to just BE. Workout some days, eat bagels some days. Whatever. . I just wanted to remind you that if you have a goal your working towards that’s amazing, and if you don’t that’s okay too. I think sometimes it’s easy to forget that 💓 Okay I’m going to go enjoy my bagel and coffee with LOTS OF CREAMER (and no, creamer is not an unhealthy option & I will never use milk 😂 #creamforever)
You know what doesn’t suck? Ordering a latte because you want to, and not having to think about your macros. Going to Starbucks Reserve and getting one of their fancy hazelnut lattes, and not having to think about your macros. Going to lunch at the cutest spot, and just enjoying lunch and not have to think about your macros 🙃 . Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy I counted macros (for 3 years) because it taught me so much about nutrition, what my body needs, and what is actually in food. And even though counting was so second nature to me, it was still always in the back of my mind. I don’t know what the future holds but I will say that right now feels pretty good to just BE. It’s definitely an adjustment, but one I think I can get used to 😏 . Did any of y’all count macros for a long time and then go back to more intuitive eating? Thoughts? Experiences?! 💭 Ps. #ad Family picnic today! I promise dad is here too but someone had to take the photo 🤷🏼♀️ The weather in NC is now consistently warm & sunny☀️🙌🏼 so obviously we’re trying to spend as much time outside as possible! Also, ever since we’ve gotten Fritz 🐶 we look for any excuse to go outside and be active☝🏼 so he’s not a psycho in the house but ✌🏼 it’s just feels good to be outside!! . Today we decided to get some salads from @panerabread for our picnic 🥗 You all know from my IG stories that whenever we’re traveling on the road we stop at Panera since they have a way better variety & more nourishing options than other places on the go. Today I got their Southwest Chile Lime Ranch salad and it is soooo good! 🤤 Smoked pulled chicken, avocado, feta, quinoa tomato sofrita & adobo corn blend plus masa crisps and Chile lime ranch dressing 🙌🏼 . Making choices that are good for you don’t have to be a big hassle. Sometimes it’s just getting outside in the fresh air and eating food that makes you feel your best 💪🏼 #itsthelittlethings . WELP. Say Caio to Italy guys! 👋🏼 We are officially back in the US and this is NOT the current mood 😂 In the airport sweaty, hungry, exhausted. Need a shower, food & my bed ASAP 🤪 . Food arrives at our table for dinner. -Stephen: “Want some of my salmon babe?” -Me: “I haven’t had any fish or veggies this entire trip and I’m not about to start on the last night” 😂 #imhavingpasta #passthecarbs . OKAY OKAY, so I ate this swordfish bruschetta as an app but that’s as far as I’ll go!!! I refuse to eat anything but pizza, pasta, gelato and charcuterie while I’m here 😏🍕🍝 Ya feel me?! 🙋🏼♀️ . Just finished out last meal in Rome and it was a GOOD one! Found this little spot after getting a little carried away while shopping at Ray Ban & Chloe but, hey..when in Rome, right?! Okay that was lame but that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it 😬 . Can’t believe that tomorrow is our last day—part of me would love to stay but I’m also ready to go back (and see Fritz! 🐶) Mentally, I’m feeling so much better after this trip though and I‘m excited to go back with a new mindset I guess you could say 💭 Being here has made me realize I need to do a lot more living and less stressing 💓

Anywayssss, today we drove to Siena and it was beautiful (I mean, I don’t think any part of Italy isn’t?!) We had lunch at a little cafe and it was one of the best meals we had (linked in stories), and then got gelato and walked around. After we ended up at this little winery, and then had charcuterie from the oldest delicatessen in Siena!! You just can’t beat a good charcuterie board #amiright?! . We’re currently back at our Airbnb ordering takeout for dinner (#stilleating 🍝) & binge watching Killing Eve. Have y’all seen the show? SO good! If you like detective/psychological thrillers/crime it’s definitely up your ally. Tomorrow morning we head to Rome before flying home Thursday ✈️ —can’t believe the two weeks is already up!!
Before going to Italy, I was kind of in a weird place. . You may remember that I was talking about on stories about how I was feeling frustrated. Part of me was frustrated that I wasn’t as lean as I once was. I don’t like admitting that I let something like that bother me because it seems trivial but it’s how I felt and I’m always going to be honest with you. At the time, even though I wanted to make “better progress” I know that it takes a certain amount of dedication and discipline and that lifestyle didn’t seem to align with me anymore. Bottom line, I felt like I was having this huge inner struggle between wanting to look a certain way but also understanding that that type of lifestyle just doesn’t interest me. Does that make sense? 🤔 I just didn’t know which direction I wanted to go. . Being here though, and taking time away has made me realize a few things. I’ve been perfectly happy & confident with how my body is now and the lifestyle that I have. I let other people on social media who live & breathe fitness make me feel like I wasn’t doing enough. That I didn’t look good enough. And that’s not their fault that I felt that way—that’s my own. (PS. I’ve since muted or unfollowed certain accounts and sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do for your own mental health☝🏼) . I am now wondering—did I want to look a certain way for myself or for other people? I’m kind of thinking it was more for other people, which is never good. As I talked about in my post earlier this week, I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to be this “fitness blogger” because it’s what I thought I needed to do. I got so caught up in going through the motions everyday of what I thought I should be doing (and playing the comparison game) that I forgot to stop and ask myself what do you WANT to be doing??? . The reality is I love working out and eating healthy because it makes me feel good BUT I also love taking 2 weeks off and not working out and eating whatever. And you know what? It feels goods to just be content with where I am, and not worrying about if I’m doing enough. Because at the end of the day if you’re good with yourself, that’s all that matters 🥰
