There are few musicians that can claim as much influence over pop music in the last 50 years as @eltonjohn. He released his first album back in 1969, and more than 300 million record sales later, the story of his rise to the top is being told on the silver screen in #Rocketman, with @taron.egerton taking on the central role. Meet Paul Devitt, also known as "Devo." A cameraman who's travelled all across the world for CNN, @devocnn is the first to feature on our new #CNNViewfinders series: a 7-day instagram takeover that shows what it really takes to get the perfect shot. ⠀ "I hadn’t always wanted to be a cameraman. Aviation was always my passion, but so was sports. In 2000, I covered the Sydney Olympics, and my career started from there. I studied a television production degree and then worked in Australia before moving to London. I started at CNN in 2005 and the rest is history. I have travelled all over the world with my job covering some of the largest stories, including the @CNNVision department. From filming politicians to celebrities to sporting icons -- the diversity of day to day and the variety of travel has turned my career into a true passion. The teams I have worked with at CNN have helped make so much of these events a pleasure and am blessed to be in such a role."

The word 'legend' is often used in sport, but rarely so sincerely as in the case of Niki Lauda. The Austrian Formula 1 driver pulled off one of the bravest comebacks in the history of sport when he climbed back into his car at the 1972 Italian Grand Prix, just 42 days after his life was almost ended in a horrific crash at the Nürburgring in Germany. Not only did he return to racing, he returned to win two more drivers' world championships, in 1977 and 1984. Back in 2013, he told The Circuit, "The big challenge was the comeback. For me it was clear that the longer I wait, the more difficult it's going to be because the more worries you start building up. I had to do it as quick as possible to overcome these problems and to keep racing as before." ⠀ RIP Niki Lauda, 1949-2019⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #NikiLauda #F1 @F1 @Mercedesamgf1 @scuderiaferrari @mclaren #motorsport (📸: Getty) @cnn @cnnsport

This 74-year-old coral expert is desperately trying to save the Great Barrier Reef. Charlie Veron (also known as “The Godfather of Coral”) has personally discovered almost a quarter of the world's coral species — but now, his biggest mission is to preserve what's left of it 🐠 Marine heat waves caused by climate change have killed about half of the corals on the Great Barrier Reef, along with others around the world. "It's the beginning of a planetary catastrophe," says Charlie 🐟 The Great Barrier Reef is 2,300km long (roughly the length of Italy) and is the only living organism that can be seen from space. "Somewhere between a quarter and a third of all marine species everywhere has some part of their life cycle in coral reefs," he says. "So, you take out coral reefs and a third to a quarter of all marine species gets wiped out. Now that is ecological chaos, it is ecological collapse." “It was a tough, tough road”. I honestly didn’t know if I’d ever play golf again.” But just two years on, and the 43 year old is wearing the Masters green jacket once again - 14 years after his last win at Augusta, bringing his tally of major wins to 15, a number he thought may never come. These days, she may be one of the most famous dancers in the world, but Copeland is still fighting -- for equality and for more diversity in the world of ballet. "When it comes to the ballet world, it's always been extremely challenging for minorities to exist and to thrive," she said on @cnnvision's #TalkAsia. "There are still people that don't think I belong. That don't think I'm right. That don't think I fit in." She has always spoken openly on the issue of racism, and says that even today, despite her success, she still deals with racism. Copeland wants to move the conversation forward, turning her experiences into something constructive and becoming a positive role model. "There's so much negative with how people view black people in America, especially black women," she said. "I want them to see that it is possible to be someone like me and be a black woman in America ... that we come in so many shapes, sizes and from different places and are capable of so much." Damien Frost: "Maxi Moore coined the term "Night Flowers” a rather poetic and apt term to describe the loose knit community of people I document who bloom brightest at night. This photograph of Maxi was taken on Old Compton Street in 2014 on her way to a club in Soho. I saw her from a distance and couldn’t quite believe my eyes as she was walking down the street, all "6ft plus" of her in some kind of zebra drag hybrid which seemed utterly strange yet somehow made some kind of dream-logic sense." . . . @fairyprincessmermaidbarbie @harmonyhalo #photo #photooftheday #photography #drag #london

Damien Frost: "Unlike most of my other photos which are documentary in nature, this photo was set up to showcase some of the colorful characters that can still be found on the streets of Soho. Everyone in this image I had originally stopped on the streets of Soho as strangers and asked for their portrait and it’s heartwarming now looking at this image to think how many of the people have become friends and allies but it’s even more interesting knowing i could create several more of these large scale works featuring everyone i’ve met in the process of portrait taking and still not be able to fit everyone in." . . . @harmonyhalo #photo #photooftheday #photography #drag #london #style

I found Ruby late one night as she was leaving a club to go home and she agreed to not only let me take her portrait but walk with me until we found a suitable place where i could use the natural light of an illuminated office to light her. Ruby passed away earlier this year and the shot reminds me why i do what i do - documenting these amazing people and trying to capture something of their essence and freeze it in the moment, because not only is our time here fleeting, but the people I photograph are also rare and elusive and in a world where things are increasingly seemingly homogenous their difference, courage and identity should be celebrated." . . . @harmonyhalo #photo #photooftheday #photography #drag #london

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a holiday tradition for nearly 100 years. In 2012, New York artist @kaws created this balloon version of his “Companion” sculpture for the event. Kaws spent his early years doing graffiti and street art in New York, and has since taken his larger-than-life sculptures across the world — most recently to China, Japan, South Korea and Bangkok. “When I first started doing a lot of work in Tokyo in the 90s, friends in the US were like, ‘Why are you wasting all your energy, nobody sees this,” he told @cnnvision in a recent interview. “And then slowly... with the help of things like social media and just the internet in general... things became global so fast.” 🌎 But it all started on the streets of New York.
