Soaked in the sun and all of #Nature’s abundance at #Kabini #Karnataka. It was one the most beautiful life experiences... the river #Kapila with #NagarholeNationalPark and #BandipurNationalPark on either side of her banks meeting the river #Cauvery... our forests are the birthing grounds for rivers, sequesters of carbon, ecological infrastructures that have existed for millions of years that secure our lives. Watching these incredible species always serves as a reminder for how grateful we should be for our rich natural heritage and how important it is for us to do all we can to protect it. 💚🌳💧🐯 #CleanAir #CleanSeas #Water #Elephants #Tigers #BetterWithForests #WildForLife #RightOfPassage #SDGs #ClimateAction #ThrowbackThursday

As we approach the 2019 @unitednations #ClimateAction Summit, we must remember that nature does not negotiate. In order to achieve fair and just climate action, we must ensure that taxpayer money is put to better use to help people and build a more sustainable world. This is to clarify and put to rest all kind of speculation that is being bandied about by a certain section of the media regarding my separation with Sahil. It is most unfortunate to see the level of irresponsibility exercised. What is even more unfortunate is that our colleagues' names are being tarnished and maligned by this media. As a woman I will not stand for another woman’s name being used so irresponsibly to perpetuate a lie! There is absolutely no truth to the alleged reports and no third person is the reason for Sahil and I to part ways. We have requested the media to be graceful and allow us this time for some privacy. Really hope they can respect that.
Tigers are a magnificent representation of our forests. They represent dense natural ecosystems that are the birthing grounds for rivers. Tiger forests are a source of our water.I make a connection between saving our tigers and their forests with India's critical need to secure water resources simply because tiger forests represent water. We all need to realise that tiger forests and all other natural ecosystems are the infrastructures upon which not only our economy but our lives are dependent. Tiger numbers are undoubtedly rising in our best protected tiger habitats. Many times when cubs are born in our best protected tiger reserves and grow up to step out of their forests, their lives are lost, as our corridors that are not secure from threats like widened roads, open canals, poisoning, electrocution and poaching. We need to focus now more than ever before to ensure our forests do not suffer from further fragmentation and loss of natural habitat. We need to do more to secure #RightOfPassage for our #Tigers as they disperse from protected areas to claim new territory (as is natural to tigers) to ensure mitigation of man animal conflict. I salute all the protectors of the wild who strive everyday to secure the lives of #Tigers, our forests and in doing so our lives and health. #GlobalTigerDay #SDGs #GlobalGoals #Water #CleanAir #ClimateAction #WildForLife #ForeverWild
Our trips into the wild always leave me energised. Filled with love, grace and purpose to do MORE to protect all that is wild and all that facilitates life itself. My mother saw her first wild tiger on this trip. And I realised while I watched her react to the wilderness where I have inherited my spirit of curiosity and empathy. Mamma, I hope the future generations will be able to witness the wonder and glory of wildlife and learn to love and protect it. @wildlifetrustofindia @vivek4wild thank you for being the guardians of our planet. Meet Kumbha! One of our most magnificent #Tigers of #RanthamboreNationalPark. Kumbha was resting in the water through a very humid monsoon morning. The rains have been eluding our forests and Tigers need to cool off too! He was oblivious to the attention he was getting from all the curious people gathered 10 feet away from him... he seemed to know why we were there... this image is shot by me. The fourth edition of @wildlifetrustofindia‘s #ClubNature. An attempt to take corporate India CEO’s to the wild! The private sector’s engagement in restoring degraded, fragmented natural habitats and conservation efforts for #WildLife can play a HUGE role in attaining #SDGs. Partnerships that can lead to giving our #WildLife #RightOfPassage, that will lead to ensuring survival of wild species and in turn secure natural habitats. We need to ensure we maintain the fragile ecological balance that secures our health and safety. We are all connected! I am a proud founding member of #ClubNature and it gives me immense joy to witness the participation of corporate India in ensuring our #WildLife remain #ForeverWild. #WildForLife #BetterWithForests #CleanAir #CleanWater #CleanFood #GlobalGoals #Partnerships

This #Tiger did not have a Billion choices. But our rescue team working relentlessly, selflessly, risking their lives each day to ensure they give #WildlIfe safe passage back to the wild ensure they have a choice. “Flood waters bring in the most unlikely guests. This time it was a tiger at a house in Harmouti in the Kohora range, relaxing on a bed. The IFAW-WTI- Assam Forest Department teams initially considered tranquilising the tiger but finally decided to give it a safe passage without much intervention. The tiger was spotted next to the highway at 8:30 am, moving from the park, just 200 m away, most probably on its way to higher reaches in the Karbi hills about 500 m across the National highway. Probably disturbed, he jumped across the wall of a scrap garage and took refuge in the dark room of a house. There is a roadside eating joint located across the house and the highway divides this stretch. It has to traverse this stretch of the road and eating joint to reach the forested hills behind. The team waited patiently for sundown to give it a safe passage out of the house. The AssamForest Department is working round the clock with NGOs #IFAW- #WTI to ensure the safety of humans and animals in the wake of floods and receding waters that is throwing such unprecedented challenges each day.” This situation is also a strong statement on highways and settlements blocking the animals' #RightOfPassage!
The eastern corner of #India has been hit by floods. As landscapes get inundated and animals run for survival, they often get caught in conflict when they run into human habitations and suffer injuries due to various other anthropogenic causes. In situations like these and multiple other threats faced by wildlife on a regular basis, Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) provides immediate short term grants as “Rapid Action Projects” (RAP) to help animals in distress. The @wildlifetrustofindia team involved draws from its vast and varied experience of having worked in emergencies like the cyclones across the eastern coast of India, floods throughout the country and even during the raging 2004 Tsunami, tending to over 13000 cases till date and the many conservation projects we run across the country. We work towards ensuring them to be safe in wild the wild. With the recent deluge, we have already begun receiving calls for protection of wildlife and they will increase over the next few days, given the continued rains. The time is NOW to step up and as required respond to wildlife threats. Can you help with your support to our Rapid Action Projects, Today? Happy Birthday precious one 💖
My father would often tell me the only way to live life fully is to treat each day as it were my last... when I lost my father, I discovered the meaning of what he said. Our time is finite and that’s all we really have - Time. Everyday I remind myself that not only could this be the last day of my life, it could be the last day of the person who is being unkind, rude, impatient or unthinking towards me.... This has made me more patient and kind towards myself and others.
It was a perfect ‘my kind of work day’! Doing what I love and loving what I do 💚🌳💧 addressing a town hall for @makemytrip on sustainable living, the connection between human progress and nature and saying no to #SingleUsePlastics. #GlobalGoals #SDGs
“The meaning I picked, the one that changed my life: Overcome fear, behold wonder.” - Richard Bach

This famous poem by Mário de Andrade is known by two titles; The Valuable Time of Maturity and My Soul Has a Hat. Even though both titles offer slight variations to the poem’s translation, they are essentially the same. Mário de Andrade (1893-1945) was a poet, novelist, essayist and musicologist. __________________ "I counted my years and realised that I have less time to live by, than I have lived so far. I feel like a child who won a pack of candies: at first he ate them with pleasure but when he realised that there was little left, he began to taste them intensely. I have no time for endless meetings where the statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be done. I no longer have the patience to stand absurd people who, despite their chronological age, have not grown up. My time is too short: I want the essence, my spirit is in a hurry. I do not have much candy in the package anymore. I want to live next to humans, very realistic people who know how to laugh at their mistakes and who are not inflated by their own triumphs and who take responsibility for their actions. In this way, human dignity is defended and we live in truth and honesty. It is the essentials that make life useful. I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch the hearts of those whom hard strokes of life have learned to grow with sweet touches of the soul. Yes, I’m in a hurry. I’m in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give. I do not intend to waste any of the remaining desserts. I am sure they will be exquisite, much more than those eaten so far. My goal is to reach the end satisfied and at peace with my loved ones and my conscience." #TuesdayThoughts Image by @abheetgidwani

“More people are slowly discovering how their consumption patterns and lifestyles impact the environment. If you look at the traditional forms of Indian weddings across the board, there was never a desire for pomp and show. It was always about beauty, ethnicity, simplicity and grace. The big fat Indian wedding is a product of Bollywood and I reckon now is a great time for filmmakers to change the way they represent these festivities on the silver screen. As long as the shift happens within us, we can find ways to bring that change into everything else we do.” #SustainableCelebrations #MakeItGreen @feminaweddingtimes Photographer: @rohanshrestha Hair and make-up: @harryrajput64 Outfits and styling: @anitadongre Earrings, Necklace and Bangles : @anitadongrepinkcity Ring : @jet_gems Location: @jadegardenbanquets Floral backdrop: @champsfleur
“Kaafir is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’ve deeply admired Bhavani Iyer’s writing. It means so much to be able to tell stories that truly matter and make a difference. It’s important to focus on narratives that expunge prejudices—towards ourselves, others, religions, countries or even cultures. The sensitivity, gravitas and premise of the series are what I hope to embody as a human being. So when such a piece of writing finds you, it’s impossible to let it go.” #Kaafir #HumanityIsMyReligion #DoBeDoBeDo #PassionMeetsPurpose #MakeItGreen @feminaweddingtimes @rohanshrestha @anitadongre @anitadongrepinkcity @jet_gems @harryrajput64

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage. -Anais Nin #TravelWithDee #Himachal #IncredibleIndia #ShotOnIPhone #Kaafir #BTS
“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.” - Anais Nin #Kaafir #HimachalPradesh #IncredibleIndia #ShotOnIphone #TravelWithDee

Celebrating sustainable fashion and the importance of responsible production and consumption of fashion. The fashion industry, including the production of all clothes which people wear, contributes to around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions due to its long supply chains and energy intensive production. The industry consumes more energy than the aviation and shipping industry combined. In addition to its carbon intensive supply chain and production processes, the fashion industry consumes a great deal of other precious resources. To make just one pair of denim jeans, 10,000 liters of water is required to just grow the one kilo of cotton needed for the pair of jeans. In comparison, one person would take 10 years to drink 10,000 liters of water. Cumulatively, the fashion industry produces about 20% of global waste water. Furthermore, 85% of textiles end up in landfills or are incinerated when most of these materials could be reused. The fashion industry has a big role to play in achieving the sustainable development goals. There are many who are challenging the norm and adopting sustainable practices. By sourcing/producing textiles responsibly, by ensuring they adopt natural practices to colour textile (chemical and toxin free), reducing wasteful consumption of resources at the time of production, avoiding all use of plastics for labelling and packaging, adopting circular approach - many many heroes out there, some of whom we met at this wonderful evening organised by @verveindia! #SustainableFashion #GlobalGoals Styled by @shwetanav Handcrafted Jute necklace by @valliyan, sustainable outfit by @tillabyaratrikdevvarman.
