Before heading back to their base in Cognac the @audemus_spirits team dropped into Fever-Tree HQ on Thursday to give us all a taste of their brand new Pink Pepper Dry - a (believe it or not) drier version of one of our favourite gins. Judging by the slightly subdued atmosphere in the office this morning, it’s fair to say it went down pretty well. #fevertreefriday

We’ve opted for an old favourite in @tarquinsgin made in Cornwall with cinnamon, bitter almonds and violet flowers in the botanical flavour mix. Warner's Rhubarb Gin has become a staple of any good gin shelf and rightly so; the freshly pressed rhubarb juice lends it a deliciously sweet flavour. This is our brand-new ready-to-drink Elderflower G&T. We've taken our much-loved Elderflower Tonic Water and worked with master distiller Charles Maxwell to create a gin to go with this specific mixer. Not the normal way of working but the result is really rather special - we've used a blend of juniper, chamomile, jasmine and lime flowers in the still to make a fresh and floral gin that pairs so well with our tonic. Half Hitch is a London-born gin with a worldly outlook, made in Britain's capital of counter-culture thinking: Camden. Malawian black tea is the star of this particular show, blended with the fresh citrus taste of Italy's finest bergamot for a rounded flavour more reminiscent of the quintessentially British Early Grey tea. We're sipping it with our Indian Tonic and a strip of orange peel and it's going down a treat this #FeverTreeFriday.

Yesterday, @salcombegin unveiled their latest creation, made in partnership with superstar chef @galettigram: Island Queen. A boat of the same name launched from Salcombe harbour 166 years ago with the singular task of bringing exotic fruits back to British shores; this limited edition gin is a tribute to that particular schooner that brought back, amongst other treasures, pineapples. Monica and the Salcombe Gin team have chosen tropical fruits, like pineapple, sweet mango and coconut, and spices, like pink peppercorns and green cardamom, to give this gin a grown-up tropical flavour. As there's a lot of gorgeous flavours going on in the bottle, we're sipping it with our Premium Indian Tonic this #FeverTreeFriday - the garnish is a chunk of charred pineapple. Chin chin!

One of England's few whiskies comes from the folks at @cotswolds_distillery - it's a full-flavoured single malt that tastes like dark sugar, marmalade, spices and other wonderful things. A new whisky like this doesn't have the traditions of some of its Scottish counterparts but we're proposing a new one: mix it with our Ginger Ale for a taste-packed refreshing drink, like we are this #FeverTreeFriday.

Aboard the British Navy's fleet, the most important cargo was gunpowder and gin, both kept in barrels locked below-deck. But choppy waters and the occasional cannonball across the bow would lead to gin sloshing into the gunpowder, rendering both useless. After a few hair-raising encounters with misfiring guns, some bright spark realised stronger gins, above 54.5% ABV., still worked. And so, the Navy adopted this number as its lower limit for gin on-board its ships and the Navy Strength gin was born. We love the punchy flavour of @portobelloroadgin's version, made with a little added sea salt. The bold flavours are best tempered by our Aromatic Tonic, made with equally bold botanicals, including angostura bark that has its own naval links - it was used as an addition to gin to help quell feelings of seasickness. All in all, probably the most nautical drink you can sip without getting your feet wet ⚓
