Last week was beyond epic! I have lived in the United States of America for many years now and one of my greatest desires was to take a road trip to some of the many magnificent National Parks here. I am obsessed with mountains and rivers, streams waterfalls, wildflowers, and giant trees. 100% a mountain person. A place where all that meets the eye is majestic landscapes. Trees bent into grotesque yet entirely beautiful shapes. Where there is no pressure to impress because you just can't compete with what you are standing in front of. Reminding you how much unnecessary time we spend struggling for "permanence", "control" and someone else's definition of "perfection". My heart always finds such stillness, humility, grounding, and inspiration when it collides with these unabused parts of Mother Earth. The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Zion National Park made me think of this... "Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean". John Muir Thank you @Audi for making my trip so memorable! #partner #Q8Roadtrip 📸: @coryt
(Part 1 of 2) An Insta- Detox Story My Truth. A few weeks ago I felt quite claustrophobic on Instagram. It was increasingly getting filled with shallow, temporary, inconsequential, fake, negative noise and messaging and it felt heavy and dense. While there were certainly positive rays of light that so often can put a smile on your face, there were equal or more of the opposite. I felt sad and quite literally like I was wasting my time. Like I was stuck in an episode of Black Mirror. And all that foreshadowing of a disconnected future starting seeming real. I started becoming acutely aware of young kids and adults experiencing beautiful destinations in the world only through the limited lens of their cellphones. All for the 'Gram'. I wanted to shake them out of their daze and remind them to stay present and use their eyes! But quickly realised it wasn't my business! And surely as much as I hate it, I have done it too. I started questioning if Instagram had any positive effects on humankind at all. If it gave me an joy? Quite frankly, I have always had a love- hate relationship with social media. Those who know me and maybe those who follow me can clearly see that too. So I took time off this platform for a while to do a 100% cleanse of these feelings and reasses if it made any sense to me at all and if what I put out in the world mattered, then what is it that I REALLY want to say.... CONTINUED in part 2 of 2 .... 📸: @go_dwells
(Part 2 of 2) So, In that time off some wonderful things happened: 1. I read more books. 2. I slept an undisturbed 7 to 8 hrs every night. 3. I had more time to workout meditate and plan my meals right. 4. I didn't get headaches and motion sickness from scrolling in moving cars. 5. I was more curious about the details of the current affairs and not just headlines. 6. I didn't fall into that deep dark hole that starts with a photo of your bestie on a holiday and a wasted hour later ends up on an account of cute golden retrievers doing cute things.(although those retrievers did brighten up my day often) 7. I stopped getting drawn into ads and buying more than I needed. 8. I was a lot more clueless on who wore what, ate what, kissed who..and my gosh I am happy to be clueless again! 9. My phone battery stayed alive longer. Woohoo! 10. I now know all the hues that I might have missed that come to make Cory's beautiful blue eyes! 😍 So here I am...Making an appearance on this platform but this time very aware of what I want to put out on it and more importantly what I certainly don't want to take from it. I do enjoy sharing my thoughts and views, especially when they are positive and can inspire on a public platform. But I still plan on sleeping 8 hrs undisturbed every night with lowered cortisol levels. Wouldn't trade that for blue light exposure before bedtime ever again! I am sharing my story with you because I know there is a large majority out there who relate and if any of you are planning on going/have gone on a real insta detox or have found that using this platform meaningfully and positively, maybe even sparingly has bettered your life. Then I highly recommed it and... Congratulations! Until next time Love and positive vibes FP ... 📸: @go_dwells
So grateful I got to interview the ever so inspiring ex-US Marine, daughter, activist, yoga teacher- @anuradhabhagwati for her memoir "Unbecoming". I dubbed her 'a badass brown G.I. Jane'. And with good reason! Vulnerable, brutally honest, rebellious, determined, naive, strong both physically and mentally, with unapologetic views that doesn't spare some people or Herself either.. I highly recommend reading it. • 📷: @ilovebaliwood

The future depends on what you do TODAY. - Mahatma Gandhi. Happy Monday😀
Mumbai City!!! @Wild_edens_project and I have arrived, with an entire episode dedicated to my beautiful country. . This beautiful creature, the Asian elephant, has a deeply moving story to tell. Yes, I use the word "deep" and "moving" with reason. Elephants are capable of very complex thoughts and feelings. They are extremely intelligent and have three times as many neurons as humans. They feel the widest range of emotions and are capable of incredible empathy. But these gentle giants face the threats of habitat loss and poaching at the hands of humans. . My hope is that with this film we generate some empathy and awareness about these and other rare and wild species that need our immediate attention and an awakened conscience. I believe it is Possible. ❤
Just living is not enough. One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower. - Hans Christian Anderson • I’m thrilled to narrate the “Wild Edens: South Asia” documentary. The film focuses on the most vulnerable and rare species of animals and plants endangered by climate change in India and Bangladesh. As a @wild_edens_project ambassador I’m happy to share this film with you in the upcoming spring.

I see you!
On the last day of this year that taught me so much through both pain and happiness, I seize this humbling moment in the presence of the magnificent Himalayas. I remind myself that nothing is more rewarding and breathtaking than staying grounded, reflective, receptive and aware. I welcome another year of more self discovery and inner peace. . . In the words of my favourite travel essayist Pico Iyer: In an age of speed, I began to think, nothing could be more invigorating than going slow. In an age of distraction, nothing can feel more luxurious than paying attention. And in an age of constant movement, nothing is more urgent than sitting STILL. . . Happy New Year all!! . . 📷 : @coryt
To the Greatest Love of my Life, • It is impossible to imagine life without your sisterhood and this bond we share. The glorious depths of your generous heart is one of your greatest gifts and yet, this very gift makes me even more protective of you as I assume big sister/warrior role if anyone dare hurt you. And then there are times when all I want to do is fold into the tiniest ball in your arms and cry my heart out because someone out there hurt me. And You are ALWAYS there with the warmest, fullest embrace and the wisest words. • I feel so lucky that you accept me unconditionally in all my avatars without judgement. Thank goodness you were born. Thank goodness you were born 4 years before me because I wouldn't want any other Big Sister in the world but YOU. SHARON FIONA PINTO - I LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY. • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL SOUL!
Just love 💛
Taj Mahal or as Rabindranath Tagore so rightly called it, 'a teardrop on the cheek of time.' . It is impossible to not feel overwhelmed with awe and wonder as you step into the presence of this magnificent shrine of love. As we walked through the mausoleum at sunrise, the wind tunnel that was created within the main dome was almost hauntingly poetic. Your heart skips many beats. Call it love, call it ambition, call it pride...This King worshipped his Queen. Shah Jahan ❤ Mumtaz

Red Fort / Lal Qila- This magnifcent red sanstone fortress was the home to the Mughal Emperors for 200 years. It was built by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the mid 17th century as their ceremonial and political headquarters. There were so many sections to this fort complex- the queen's quarters, the harem apartments, servants' quarters, hammam, the sprawling gardens... This fort was also looted and ravaged by war multiple times during the various invasions and take-overs ( Nadir Shah, the Marathas, British Raj). The peacock throne, the Koh-i-noor diamond, the jade cup for example were some of the things that were removed from it's home. A lot of historians have documented in detail what the Red Fort has seen and experienced but I stop for a second here in stillness and wonder what are the stories that they might have missed? Stories that have feelings and emotions. If only these red sandstone pillars could speak.... . . Photo cred 📷 : @coryt . . This handwoven kurta and scarf by the incredi ble @anitadongre
As a Bombay Girl at heart, it is impossible to not feel nostalgic in some of this city's oldest and still popular charms. Like Britannia & Co.. I used to frequent this Parsi restaurant as a student of St. Xavier's College and religiously ordered the Berry Pulav and sali boti. But it is not just the delish food you take in here, you are literally breathing in so much history and culture. The restaurant's 94yr old owner Boman Kohinoor personally comes over to take your order and share his stories. . . The Parsi community fled to India some 1200 years ago to escape persecution during the Arab conquest of Persia. Seeking refuge in India, they blend their own culture and traditions with the Hindu culture and created a new identity for themselves, while still retaining their roots. There is so much you will be curious about at this vintage, quaint little establishment started in 1923, but above all, you will find impossible to ignore that migration does create so much flavour and richness. Immigrants DO NOT change culture they EXPAND culture by expanding your world view and making it so much more connected. . . Follow @coryt to see some beautiful pictures he captured at this historic must visit spot in Mumbai. Jai Ho!
How lucky is anyone who has been graced by your heart full of light!💛 . . Birthday love, kisses and deep appreciation for you, my beautiful man! I celebrate you today and everyday. Happy Birthday love! . . #2MonkeysTogether 🐒❤🐒

On Google's Map of #metoo searches India lights up like a Christmas tree! Or like the upcoming Indian festival of Diwali. . . This is not Victory though...this is a beautiful reminder that the flame has been lit and it is upto us to keep it burning and see it transform into Just Actions, Accountability and most importantly a Change in Backward and Misogynistic Mindsets. Earlier this year India was declared the most unsafe country in the world for women. I was so disheartend but instead of being in denial, I would rather accept the facts and play my part in doing something about it. Not as a bystander or a Silent Spectator. . . #TimesUp #metoorising
There are people who make commitments. And then, there are people who make commitments and STAND by them. So happy to stand with you, @michelleobama in this unified effort to promote girls education and every girl's right to choose her own future. . . Today, I interrupt my feed for a bit from all the fashion week poses to stand by what I truly Believe. I Believe Tanushree Dutta! I don't need to know her personally, neither have been present on that horrendous day she got bullied, abused both sexually and psychologically, intimidated and shut down inorder to corroborate her story. However, I do know what Truth, Hurt and Abuse sounds like. The same way millions of people in the world know that Dr. Christine Blasey- Ford is NOT a Liar or an attention seeking, tantrum throwing overgrown child. I add my voice to the other voices coming out in support of Tanushree's bravery because God knows this is not going to be easy for you, Tanushree. But what you have done is monumental and important and it has to shake the very core of a nation and an ideology that for too long has gotten away with heinous crimes against women and where the ugliness of misogyny has dominated the rights and suppressed any voice that has dared to speak up. Also, even if someone speaks up ( and in Tanushree's case- speaks up AGAIN) 10 years later, it doesn't dilute or nullify a factual, verified, double verified truth. Her story is not a carton of milk that expires after a few days, ready to be discarded. So trolls : please do what you do best but it is not going to change the Truth. India - Stand Up, Speak Up. Don't look to just your superstars to speak up. Be your own role models and follow the voice of your conscience. Follow the truth and stand by a woman's right to be her own wind keeper. You may just end up setting an example for many others who probably need your grit and courage to speak up. I SUPPORT TANUSHREE DUTTA.
