Meet #FutureCoalition’s two new community managers: Alicia Novoa and Ethan Asher. Alicia and Ethan will continue to build and nurture relationships with youth organizers and organizations to maximize impact and success. Alicia is a student-activist from Orlando, FL who will be attending the University of Miami this fall. Alicia says that she thinks of her role as being community builder, with a focus on further empowering existing member organization. Fun facts about Alicia: Alicia first became involved in politics by working on her Congresswoman's re-election campaign, and became an organizer for MFOL Orlando. Alicia is Colombian, plays piano, does yoga in her free time, and has a Yorkie named Sparky. Ethan is from Roswell, Georgia, and a high school student at Centennial High School. Ethan is excited to build relationships with youth organizers, with a focus on reaching out to potential coalition members and young leaders. Fun facts about Ethan: he loves plants, his favorite hard candy is butterscotch hard candy, and if Ethan could be any kitchen utensil, he would be a spork because its multi-functional and adaptable to many situations. We’re excited to have both @ethan_asher1 & @aliciamnovoa on our team! Say hi to them below!

@platformwomen is hosting their #PlatformConvention July 20-22 in Washington, DC. Opportunity to meet and be in conversation with like-minded womxn!⠀ ⠀ REPOST FROM @PLATFORMWOMEN: ⠀ Platform Convention is far more than our schedule, it's about the community we build together. It's about harnessing the power that already exists in your voice. It's about identifying clear steps on how to take action. It's about learning from the leaders who paved a path, and knowing that we are blazing our own trails too (in an environmentally-conscious way, of course). Our community is stronger with you in it and we hope to see you

TODAY is an important day in the fight for climate action. Tag a friend a friend below to help ensure #AllEyesOnJuliana! . Since 2015, 21 young people from across the country have been suing the federal government for violating their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property by knowingly contributing to climate change for over five decades. The youth plaintiffs have been successful at winning every step of the way, despite efforts by both the U.S. government and the fossil fuel industry to shut it down. Like Brown v. Board of Education did for civil rights, Juliana v. United States has the potential to become the landmark climate change case of our country’s history. . Today, the 21 Juliana plaintiffs present their argument to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Portland, Oregon about why this case should continue to trial. This hearing represents a crucial point in the case. It will determine two things: whether the case should continue to trial as the youth request and whether the federal government should halt new fossil fuel extraction projects while the court decides the case. Together, we have the opportunity to make climate history. . Tune in to the livestream of the hearing at 2pm PT / 5pm ET. Visit bit.ly/WATCHJULIANA (link in bio) to set a reminder. . . .
