Ursula Mathilde Anderson, the She-Bear Battle Maiden, rode in on a bolt of lightning during a summer storm on 7/24 after a wild 4 hour labor. She was born at home under water, a minute and a half before the midwife arrived. She’s our petite little miss, weighing in at 6lbs 8oz. Big brother Mars helped guide her in alongside @danjohnanderson ❤️❤️ It was our dream birth and we’re all happy and resting now! Welcome to our little Uschi ❤️❤️❤️ Endless gratitude to our birth team @littlebeandoula and @taniamccrackenmidwifery for the incredible support for our whole family and to @mayaeleazer for always sharing your incredible depth of birth knowledge with me, love you long time ❤️❤️❤️
What can I say about Motherhood that hasn’t been said before...it’s easily the most challenging era of my life so far, and it’s easy to get lost in the uncertainty and panic of making the right decisions but not bringing worry into the fold, protecting this small persons spirit but not being overprotective and smothering, being present but not burning out, making the sacrifices needed for this great soul but not losing a sense of myself in it all. Standing on the brink of our second child joining us it’s so easy to feel pulled in a thousand directions, excited for the future and mourning what will change, fretting about balancing it all and trying to maintain the closeness and true partnership with my partner. We are all working so hard for it all, and this morning waking up ahead of this little spirit for once I was overcome with peace and reminded of just how lucky I am to be on this journey. I celebrate every woman who has chosen this path, every woman who didn’t choose it but took it anyway, everyone who yearns to take this path and hasn’t had the opportunity, everyone who has been mothered well, everyone who has been mothered badly, the journey is profound for us all. Thank you to my beautiful children for trusting me with your sweet lives, may I do you justice in this lifetime. ❤️❤️

My valentine 💕 (His dads pretty cool too💕)
A washed out road to reach it, many miles of inclines, hiking til dark, we saw grandness. ✨
Finishing the year.
Thanksgiving was pretty great in a lot of ways. Pic thanks to @alaalison who also provided the majority of the stunning meal that I’m still digesting, physically and spiritually.
Postcard from hell!
For the last couple of months I’ve been volunteering out at @joeyshomeanimalrescue in Yucca Valley, a rescue ranch with 20 beauties with varying degrees of ride-ability, approachability and attitude problems ;) There are some really amazing trainers and other volunteers out there helping to muck, groom and ride! If you’d like to get involved there’s a benefit dinner next Thursday at Country Kitchen, presale tix are about 1/2 sold and it would be great to get them all sold before next week. DM me or @shelleycush for details, it’s going to a great time and it’s for such a fantastic cause in our community! All are welcome!
