By partnering with @habitatforhumanitypoland, Miroslaw and his family were able to access technical assistance, building materials and loans to add a much-needed addition to their one-room home. #GlobalVillage volunteers from seven countries have built alongside the family to build a new space that will bring about a lot of change. “It means an opportunity for the children to succeed in school,” says Miroslaw. 🏠

Everyone deserves to build the foundation for a strong, healthy future for themselves and their families — no matter where they live or how much money they earn. Every family deserves the chance to thrive. Help us make that possible. Help us make the #CostOfHome something we all can afford.
“When a family slides that key into the lock of a house they’ve helped build, they’re unlocking more than just the physical front door to their new home. They’re unlocking their fullest potential.” - Jonathan Reckford, Habitat CEO 🏠
This is an awesome transformation, @habitatnewburgh! 🏠 ・・・ #Repost: #TBT to this incredible transformation on S. Miller Street. From vacant shell to a beautiful home for a local Habitat homeowner family! 🏚➕💪➕💸➕💕=🏠

Thanks for helping a family build a better place to live! 🏠 A home built with love. ❤️ ・・・ #Repost from @benkiker: Two years ago this month I spent a week in Thailand with a team from Glide, building a home for Habitat for Humanity. The excitement of visiting Thailand for the first time, helping a family in need, and having time to reflect with the team fostered experiences and relationships that are still meaningful. For all of that — and more — I am profoundly grateful. Of the many great photos from the trip, this one is a favorite: posing next to a wall with the signatures of my fellow teammates around the phrase, “A home built with love.” - ❤️❤️❤️ - #chiangmai #thailand #habitatforhumanity #glidesf #givingback #meaningfulexperiences #meaningfulrelationships #truenorth #lovewins
"It’s a unique set of tools that builds a future, and I think Habitat is that toolbox that just brings it all together." - @MrSilverScott, Habitat Humanitarian 👷♂️🏠🔨
Naresh and Heema built this Habitat house after losing their family home during Nepal’s 2017 floods. Thanks to @HabitatNepal, they now have a stronger home. “The floods come every year but the last flood took everything. This house is flood resistant, so we feel secure. This house is safe, so now we can stay in our own house even when it rains, and we don’t have to worry about losing everything again,” says Naresh. 🏠🔨
#DidYouKnow that Adrianna “AD” Franch, a goalie on the @USWNT, grew up in a Habitat home in Kansas and has volunteered with @willamettewesthabitat in Oregon? Good luck today, @afranch23! 🏠⚽️ ・・・ #Repost: Inbetween a busy training and coaching schedule, @thornsfc goalkeeper, Adrianna Franch, came by Allen Estates to help build. What you might not know about this soccer star is that she grew up in a #habitatforhumanity home in Kansas City. She remembers doing sweat equity with her mom and the pride that came along from choosing appliances and interior finishes. After helping to build her own house she continued to build her own future and become a very successful soccer star. She contributes this to the supportive community she was surrounded with. Thanks "A.D." for recognizing that every one of us deserves the opportunity for a better future and that together we can help build it. #habitatwest
"It is just so inspiring. It is really emotional. We always cry. It’s the families that keep us going." - former first lady Rosalynn Carter, on why she builds with Habitat year after year. 🏠 #HabitatCWP
Habitat volunteer John traveled from the U.S. on one of our Global Village trips to help a family build a home in Poland. #DidYouKnow that Global Village trips are a great way to make a lasting impact in a community and meet other volunteers from around the world, all while brushing up a few foreign language skills? I enjoy the teamwork and meeting the family,” says volunteer Johnny Choon as he helps lay block during a #GlobalVillage trip to Nepal. With the help of volunteers like Johnny, @HabitatNepal is helping to rebuild homes that were destroyed during floods in 2017.

This week local and statewide Habitat organizations all over the country launched a five-year advocacy campaign with the shared goal of making the #CostOfHome something we can all afford. Learn more about how you can make a difference at Habitat.org/costofhome. ・ ・ ・ #Repost from @nwvhabitat: Oregon lawmakers joined Habitat leaders, volunteers and partner families today for the Cost of Home campaign launch in Salem. As temps soared past 90 degrees, the crowd gathered underneath tents and the shade cast by the Capitol building. Senators Shemia Fagan and Tim Knopp suited up with hard helmets and gloves to participate in a nail hammering competition. Sen. Knopp claimed a narrow victory. Lawmakers highlighted the 2019 legislative wins so far for affordable housing, and encouraged colleagues to support robust funding for the Local Innovation and Fast Track (LIFT) Housing Program. Rents and homeownership costs are skyrocketing in Oregon and across the country. In Oregon, 1 in 7 households spends more than half of their income on housing. Habitat for Humanity knows the struggle, stress and pain of far too many families in our communities as they struggle to afford a place to call home. And we know that those with the fewest resources are forced to make the hardest choices. Today, with the launch of our #CostOfHome campaign, we commit to mobilizing our local Habitat organizations, our partners, our volunteers and community members across the country to find the solutions and help create the policies that will allow 10 million individuals to meet their most basic needs.
For Jazzi, a Habitat home means her own bedroom and a place to keep her favorite stuffed animals. It means security and a place for making memories. 🏠😊

Bruno used to live in a house with crumbling mud walls. But then his father, a farmer, sought small loans from @hfhkenya to improve their living conditions, first acquiring bricks and sand, then laying the foundation, then building the new home’s walls and topping them with a secure roof. With a decent place to live, Bruno experiences new stability in his life.
