It is with great sadness that we share the news of Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian's passing. The celebrated Iranian artist died peacefully in her Tehran home on Saturday, April 20, aged 96. Our thoughts and prayers are with the artist's family and friends. - Born in Qazvin, Iran, Monir spent over sixty years articulating her expansive creative vision through her mirrored mosaics, sculptures, and works on paper that fuse the sacred geometry of the Middle East with the reductive abstraction of high Modernism. She was one of the most important artists of her generation—in Iran, and internationally—and left an indelible mark on contemporary art. - Thank you for sharing your incredible vision, and rest in peace.
