Meet Wednesday ( @hellomynameiswednesday). They’re a nonbinary illustrator and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. 🎨 “[In galleries] we don’t have queer bodies or artists, and it’s why I decided I wanted to make queer art,” says Wednesday, who encourages people and artists across the LGBTQ+ community to share their work and their experiences. “We deserve to see ourselves. We’re going to be the next gen in the UK, and we’re going to make some huge differences.” 🌈 Today on our story and on IGTV, learn more about Wednesday’s work (and life) in #Advocates, our new weekly series that highlights people around the world who are sparking positive change. ✨
About 8 years ago, Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back turned away from the singers on the stage. First thank you must go to Mark. ❤️ We had no idea what we were doing or where it was going. After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself “theres some magic here. Something is definitely happening.” It went on to be a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever. Thank you NBC for signing me up. I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with. That is shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go. Thank you Carson Daly for babysitting the musicians and making sure our shoes were tied and we had our lunch boxes. You are the backbone of this thing and we appreciate you more than you know. Audrey, thank you for being perhaps the most patient person in all the free world. 4 musicians all at once is a lot. Sainthood is imminent. Thank you to Paul Mirkovich and the band for their ridiculously hard work and learning more songs than maybe any band ever. 😂 Thank you to the people behind the scenes who do the real work and make this machine hum. To the amazingly talented vocalists who competed on the show and blew my mind on a daily basis. And, BLAKE FUCKIN’ SHELTON. I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life. Kelly and John, take care of the cowboy and I’m sure I’ll be back to say hi very very soon. So much love to you both. And lastly, to all of the loyal voice fans, there’s literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING. And Lastly, I’d like to thank my manager Jordan for convincing me to take that meeting. 😊 What an amazing ride. Thank you all so much. ❤️ Adam
A rare moment of tenderness. ❤️
Vote for Team Adam tonight. Or, trust him. 😬 Watch Part 2 of the Cross Battles tonight. #TeamAdam
Adam: you know you don’t have to carry your guitar anymore. Like, we made it. James: no I like carrying it. It’s my best friend. Adam: oh. That’s cool. So you’re 40 now right? James: yeah. Why do you ask? Adam: no reason. Good talk.
This is the view from my office in Seoul. Except it’s not really my office. Because I don’t really have a job. We get paid to have fun and entertain people all over the world who love what we do. To say it’s a dream come true would be a far too generic form of gratitude. It’s just too bonkers for words. Most fun show of the tour so far. #fuckyeah #maroon5 #Seoul
I won’t get too #Namaste on you. But I will say that I feel so fortunate to have found Yoga. The practice is so different deeply personal for any individual that Ive been somewhat hesitant to share what it is to me. However, this time around, I thought I’d offer it up to whoever is listening. It has had such a profoundly positive impact on my life over the years. I have never been pretzel-ish or particularly flexible. And my practice is riddled with mistakes and imperfections. Which is precisely what makes it so powerful. Striving to do better while simultaneously remaining satisfied with where I am. It’s much larger than I am. I just tag along for the ride. Pretty cool. So...thanks Yoga. You’re awesome.
Just WOW. #TOKYODOME
When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight. We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love. ❤️ And the list of words is... Forgive Laugh Cry Smile Share Live Endure Embrace Remember Enlighten Preserve Inspire Sweat Fight Express Give Receive Elevate Climb Unify Fortify Soften Dance Scream Dream Educate Provide Inhale Exhale Persevere Stand Kneel Overcome Love Listen
Can’t say we didn’t truly go for it.
Don’t ask. Just know. it was fun.
When someone gives you flowers...always give one back. 🌸
Happy 40th birthday. The band loves you. I love you. Stop working. Take a deep breath. And enjoy it for at least 30 seconds!
