Chicago, night two: the same, but 70.833% different. An unforgettable couple of shows. What a tour it’s been so far. See you in a couple of weeks. ( @daniel)

Indianapolis, IN: a supremely fun show. One of those “sing along to everything” crowds. 💥🎤 ( @daniel)
Charlotte, NC: Friday night x summer = 3 times the weekend vibes. It’s simple math. (📷: @daniel)
I’ve done a lot of cool stuff before, but nothing quite like writing a song with the great @chrisstapleton on a Wednesday and playing it live on an arena stage on a Thursday... It’s called “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care,” and it’s available now somewhere on YouTube. (And if that wasn’t enough, he sat in on “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”) Thanks Chris for the idea to write a song to perform together, and for being such a creative powerhouse. The afterglow is bright. (📷 @daniel)
Nashville: a show so exciting I had to break it up into two posts. Might as well name that show Stallone, because it was Over. The. Top. (📷 @daniel)
He’s bright and kind and compassionate and determined and dedicated and loving and talented and funny and generous and... he’s 21 today. Happy Birthday @shawnmendes. (Feel free to add more real good adjectives below.)
Toronto night two: the sequel. We always play great shows here. This city brings it out in us. (📷: Katie Friesema)
The idea for the stage set this tour was to create something naturally beautiful. Your eye knows when you’re looking at pixels vs seeing something real, and what you see here is essentially multiple layers of paper, lit from underneath with bars of light. Layers drop in and pull out throughout the show, and they take any color you can throw at them. What started at my kitchen counter as tests with rope lights and sheets of acrylic has turned into something really remarkable looking.
Happy Birthday B.J. Novak, aka @picturesoftext. A true original, a man of boundless intellectual POV, and the single most disciplined creative thinker I’ve ever met. Making him laugh is the equivalent of winning that giant stuffed Pink Panther at the carnival. It’s a nice feeling to admire someone this much. HATS OFF TO YOU 🎂 love ya
Toronto night one: This was a show you wanna find the tape of. We’re all set up for a killer night two - gonna aim for fewest repeats possible. (📷 @thomasfalcone)
It’s getting good out here... Next up, two nights at Madison Square Garden. This is more fun than it’s ever been. (📷: Katie Friesema)
So most concert venues have a curfew, and almost all of them are enforced by way of a hefty fine. If a show is running long, my tour manager (KEN) will tell me before the encore, along with the exact number of minutes I have until the fine kicks in. I remain undefeated, often with seconds to spare. Now you can celebrate this unique milestone with the JM x @onlineceramics CURFEW BOYS tee, featuring #1000tigers art by the legendary tattoo artist @horimitsu.
I don’t have many words. Just a deep feeling of love, and of belonging somewhere in this world. Thank you all for building a ladder to this place we never thought we’d see. Until next time... “And if my words don't come together/ Listen to the melody/ ‘Cause my love is in there hiding…” -Leon Russell (📷: @jayblakesberg)
When I first began listening to Grateful Dead, I always imagined it being performed in the hot afternoon. I’m not sure why; most Dead shows were at night, and indoors. But something in the music had some searing sunlight in it, the kind that fades everything it touches. This music is every color at once - it’s all a matter of the light you shine on it. And yesterday in Dallas, TX, in front of a slowly setting and scorching sun, we played in exactly the place I’d imagined the music lived. I’ll never forget standing there, taking full inventory of the moment. ‘Here we are. Right here and now, it’s that place. Take it in.’ That’s the story of this band, to me. I’ve been places in my senses that I thought I’d have to settle for dreaming of. (📷: Katie Friesema)
Atlanta... always a profound full-circle moment to return to the city I started my live music career in. A very special show indeed. We’re in beautiful uncharted terrain now... ⚡️🌱⚡️(📷: Katie Friesema)
@danielcaesar CASE STUDY 01 out now... he and I wrote “SUPERPOSITION” together. Listen from track one though. A great album. (📷 me)
It wasn’t time until it was. NYC, we were all holding Jerry’s guitar tonight. I cherished the responsibility. All I care about is that I might help take you where you’re looking to go. Thank you for your kindness and your trust. An unforgettable night. Photo and making-it-all-possible credit: @jayblakesberg
never miss a Sunday show
🎵Gillette!! The best a band can get!🎵
New Light is now a platinum record. Thanks to everyone who helped make it and helped make it mean something. ⚡️🙌🏼⚡️
My summer tour is one month away. It’s the absolute best of both worlds to play with @deadandcompany and then stay up after the show working on the presentation for my solo run. I think you’re really going to like it... I’m a lucky guy to get to make this much music in my life. 🙏🏼

Went out with my dad and brothers tonight for Father’s Day. Dad ate a 25 pound lobster and won a hat. He felt bad about the lobster so we drove him to the ocean, where he threw the hat off a dock. “It probably won’t get to that lobster,” he said, “but it’ll get to one of em.” Then he turned to us and said “let’s go, my head is cold.” Happy Father’s Day, dad. (My brothers helped me write this caption.)
Fine, I’ll try to explain it: the air was thick with fog, but it wasn’t ominous. It was soft and sweet and more conductive of all things; of light and color and sound and excitement. And it hung there, and we all hung there for hours. The moment just held. The music poured out and the rain never came. And then, like clouds do, the show came to a close, and we all rolled along to become part of some other pattern in nature. But if you were there for those hours where that perfect shape in the clouds never dissolved and the music just kept floating, you know this caption isn’t crazy. (📷 @keithagriner)
Noblesville IN... dreamy night. All smile smile smiles 😀 ⚡️ (📷: Katie Friesema)
A very golden hour
Two beautiful shows at The Gorge. There’s a gentleness inside of this band now, a kind of synchronized thinking we’ve picked up over these past few years together. This is rewarding stuff. ⚡️💀🌹⚡️ (📷: Katie Friesema)
Okay campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there.
LA... those were two really special shows. There’s a lot of magic in the air lately. See you at The Gorge. 📷 @jayblakesberg ⚡️⚡️🌹💀🌹⚡️⚡️
