Photo @jenhuangphoto This is what's so beautiful about film - you can see detail in all the tonal ranges, from the white drapery to the florals, to the glassware. Film creates a richer, more realistic image, with beautiful, deep colors. #portra #portra400 #believeinfilm #shotonfilm

Photo by @jenhuangphoto The results from this wedding blew me away. This was another wedding in Vancouver where I shot exclusively Kodak film. At weddings, there's many different lighting scenarios, especially in a place like Vancouver that is prone to storms and weather changes. Kodak is so versatile - it can go from indoors to outdoors seamlessly, and captures golden light and stormy skies in equally beautiful ways. #portra #portra800 #shotonfilm #believeinfilm

Photo by @jenhuangphoto Recently I've been shooting almost all Kodak film at weddings. This was one of the first weddings that I shot all Kodak film and I couldn't stop looking at the images. The depth of color really spoke to me. This photo wasn't edited at all from the original scan, it came to me looking exactly as I had imagined it when I clicked the shutter. #portra #portra400 #shotonfilm #believeinfilm

Photo by @jenhuangphoto This photograph was created at the same photoshoot as the last, here we wanted a punchy fashion look without washed out skin tones or backgrounds. This was really my first time shooting Portra400 without any diffusers. It proved to me how versatile Portra400 really is. #portra #portra400 #shotonfilm #believeinfilm #kodakprofessional

Photo by @jenhuangphoto This photograph was taken indoors at Mister Jiu's Restaurant in San Francisco at an editorial shoot with @LambertFloral. I wasn't planning on shooting in this particular space because normally I tend to find light filled, pastel and clean backgrounds, but I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to experiment as Portra400 is excellent at capturing color. I usually do not choose bright backgrounds like this deep red couch with teal carpet, but I love how striking and vibrant the portrait came out, without sacrificing accuracy in the skin tones. #portra #portra400 #shotonfilm #believeinfilm #kodakprofessional

Photo @jenhuangphoto Portra 400 is incredibly powerful in low light, it can shoot in situations where other color films can look muddy. At this editorial shoot in Glencoe, it poured. I knew that even with the clouds, Portra would come through. I shot everything indoors at box speed, and around 1/30th to 1/15th of a second at f4. Even with a thunderstorm outside, the details came out crisp and clean. #portra #portra400 #believeinfilm

Portra 400 can be warmer than other films, in this instance, the warmth really brought in the magic of the desert. I love how these pink tones give this image intimacy and life. This was also photographed in Morocco. Photo by @jenhuangphoto #portra400 #believeinfilm

“This is one of my favorite portraits, shot in Morocco with the sun high overhead. Even in such bright light, the skin tones were beautiful and detailed. Photographed on Portra 800 and the Contax 645 Medium format camera. @jenhuangphoto

Our first post; Portra 800 "This must have been when I first fell in love with Kodak Portra 800, photographed on a Contax 645 medium format camera at an editorial shoot with @cottagehillmag and @teamhairandmakeup. I wasn't expecting such a deep, soulful glow. The only light in this image is from the candles."

"I grew up on a small farm in Lower Austria. Most of the time I spent in the forests, away from people. I figured out that sooner or later humans tend to create some kind of drama. I didn’t want to participate in this strange human behavior and so I discovered nature around me as a peaceful alternative to the narrow houses they called "home". I returned to this area after being away for 20 years. I lived in several cities and different countries, but always felt a kind of yearning. Now, hiking through this woods, it’s gone. And here it is… home." ▫️ Photos by Michael Ornauer @lochblick ▫️ #400txproject #kodakprofessional #35mm #trix400 #believeinfilm

This week we’re featuring the work of @danny_thorn A new father. A film photographer. Portra 800 Fuji GSW 690iii, 65mm lens and my Nikon FE2, 20mm lens Our first gallery of images, Patagonia. “...I remember my friend reading me a quote from Bruce Chatwin’s, In Patagonia, a book she had on hand when we were there. ‘Patagonia is the furthest place to which man walked from his place of origins. It is therefore a symbol of his restlessness. From its discovery it had the effect on the imagination of something like the moon, but in my opinion, more powerful.’ I remember how far we had to go to get there, taking three separate flights and traveling over six thousand miles just to get to El Chalten. Then having to get a car and drive another five hours into Chile. We learned quickly that this was a place that would live up to it’s reputation as the edge of the earth. It looked as if it had barely been settled much since humans arrived thousands of years prior. What we thought were towns on the map were just the names of old farm estates. Gas and food were scarce. We came upon gravel roads that Google Maps told us to take and bypassed them thinking it was a mistaken. There’s now way that’s a highway, is it? Then we realized these were, in fact, “highways”. Hours lost to long detours. Sometimes driving almost four hours straight on a gravel road. Nothing for hundreds of miles. Absolutely nothing. Endless prairies dotted with condors, foxes and guanacos. The occasional animal skeleton. The winds were extremely fierce, blowing with such force that they’d knock you over if you were caught off guard, and may even veer a small vehicle off the road. On the first night of our voyage, we arrived but were tuned back at the Chilean border crossing in the middle of the night. An old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere with black and white photos of old military leaders dotting it’s worn walls. The border closed at 11. It was 10:45 and we didn’t have the permits to pass. Back into the nothingness with almost no gas. The next day we made it into Chile and into Torres Del Paine... to read the rest of our story, please check out the Kodak Professional Facebook page.
