"I was offered a modelling job for a campaign and that's where my journey took off. My mom was okay with it, but dad wasn't at first but he became very supportive later. When I became the Lakme Girl three straight years in a row, he would get home the posters from stores and say, 'that's my girl!’. Later, I moved to Mumbai and even though the change was a cultural shock, I started enjoying every minute of the freedom and modelling. This went on for a couple of years until I finally decided to quit modelling and move onto something else. What followed was the second phase of my career. One day, I got a call that once again changed a lot of things for me. They wanted me to be a creative consultant for a show. I went on to do more shows and choreography, and it wasn’t long before I knew that this was my calling. Every turn my life has taken, has just taught me that you are never going to know what you want to do until you do it. Be open to change and recognize the opportunities the universe is presenting you, no matter how subtle, because that's the only way to grow." @anuahuja1 @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"As a dedicated mother of three lovely kids, my days are usually filled with craziness. Being a public figure is just half of it. Most people just get to see the dressed-up image that we put out into the world, but behind the scenes, it’s a madhouse of running around and taking care of their needs. Things that have helped me deal with it all, on days when I need to feel empowered and stronger, is to start with the small stuff. They say ‘It all starts within you’. I believe its all about the smaller choices and all of it begins with taking good care of yourself, the way you dress, the way you embrace the imperfect moments, the way you bounce back from setbacks and in the end all of these lead up to the bigger stepping stones." @sunnyleone @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"Something that I have discovered through my journey, and being a woman is that three things are of utmost importance. One is, having a sense of identity. It’s essential to know who you are and what you stand for. In today’s world, we are not just existing for ourselves, but we are global citizens. I also believe that being financially independent goes a long way in helping you be the person you want to be. When people around you start seeing you take care of yourself and working towards your goals, it makes them respect you more. The last thing, but also the biggest one, is functioning from a place of empathy. Being kind and empathetic in everything you do and put into the world moulds you into the best version of yourself. This is the most empowering thing you can do for yourself and anyone you connect with." @diamirzaofficial @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"I have been modelling for 20 years now. Initially, I had to face a lot of heat from everywhere but instead of reacting, I focused on what I wanted. When you have nothing to fall back on, and there is only one road ahead of you, you have no other option but to make it work and eventually, you do. There was a period of struggle for almost three years where I couldn't get a good break. I had no one to talk to since I was an outsider and couldn't speak English. I didn't have that back then, as I had no exposure before I came to this world. But what I had was a strong resolve to slowly overcome this fear and to become who I wanted to. I needed to face my fear so I slowly started taking criticism in a positive way. Every morning, I would pick myself back up, tell myself to act on it and prove that I'm worth something. It seemed to have worked well for me. Never back down. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, you are a human first and should treat others with dignity and respect. Acceptance is essential, and while most people have a voice, help them express it." @harrysuch @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"My parents helped me become an independent person early on in life. Since the very beginning, they treated me as an equal and made me feel empowered. My upbringing is the reason I strive for perfection in whatever I do. Pankaj and mine has been a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. I would appeal to all parents to treat their sons and daughters equally, for they are all bright and intelligent. Parents are the foundation of everything, for they build us. They need to give their children the confidence to find their calling." @pankajandnidhi @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"My label is called ‘Chola' which is about four years old now. Honestly, being a woman in this industry is amazing because people don’t look at your gender, the way you look or the way you dress. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, at the end of the day, all that really matters to anybody is what you give. It’s all about your work and how you evolve from collection to collection, for you are as good as your last collection. The way I see it, the industry is completely inclusive. Everyone has been so encouraging and it’s incredible how people help each other grow. I’ve had a fantastic time!" @chola_the_label @sohaya @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #LakmeFashionWeek #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay

"Ever since I started thinking about my career, I knew it was going to be something in fashion. I have always enjoyed making my own clothes for family weddings and other events since I was a kid. After the 12th grade, a brief internship with an export house taught me a lot about the practicalities of the business. Finally, in 2009, at 21, I launched my label ‘Sonam’. This was also my first LFW GenNext Show and since then, there has been no looking back. My second label, 'SVA' happened after Paras and I got together, and currently, it is in its seventh year. SVA is an amalgamation of architecture, different cultures, and our travels. When it comes to the design part, we have equal stake, where I take up women's wear and he looks after the men's collection. My kids will always be my priority so, balancing work and family does get hard at times, but it has never been a question of picking between the two. I love what I do, I love my kids and I would continue giving my best to both." @sonammodi @svacouture @corcalforbeauty #BeautifullyStrongAtLFW #LFW #5DaysOfFashion #HappyWomensDay #LakmeFashionWeek
