Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan is a small village located in East Java, Indonesia 🇮🇩 The name loosely translates to “Jodipan, the colourful village" 🌈😍 ====== Kampung Jodipan was once a slum area and was even one of the 11 most rundown villages in Indonesia. In 2016, a group of PR students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang began to paint the village in an attempt to clean up the village and educate the residents about sanitation. After three tons of paint, the university students were able to transform Kampung Jodipan from being one of the poorest villages of Indonesia into a blooming tourist attraction, increasing the quality of life for the villagers and economy of the village. The residents at Kampung Jodipan are now keeping the village clean and tourist-friendly together 😊 ===== It’s beautiful when people come together and do something positive isn't it? 💛

Did you know that there are only 3-4,000 elephants left in Thailand? 🐘Back in 1850 there used to be more than 100,000. Tragically, these elephants are now classified as endangered due to hunting (tusks) and the destruction of their natural habitat. Elephants are furthermore unethically treated as elephant riding is a huge tourist attraction. These beautiful creatures that God created don't deserve that. ===== Thankfully, organizations such as @cmelephanthome helps rescues elephants and gives them a place to roam free, while providing tourists an opportunity to bathe them and feed them without riding. Next time you consider doing an animal tour, do some research and make sure the company you go with is ethical! #chiangmaielephanthome

Let’s get deep. Over the past few days, I have been going through my old photos and as I went through them, the memories I've made over the past year came flooding in. The people that I met, friendships I've made, places I visited, things I’ve experienced, food I ate, adventures I went on, all of it came back to me. ===== Although it may not seem like it on Instagram, the past few months have been a very challenging season in my life. Yes I was living life to the fullest, but I also experienced stress, anxiety, loss, and sadness, just as a human would. I won’t get into details, but I believe that it is through these tribulations that we are able to learn about ourselves, and we can use these experiences to grow. ===== Reflecting on who I am today, I was able to see how much I’ve grown as a person over the past year. It was my experiences, both good and bad, that helped me grow as a person. I think in today’s society, it’s rare for us to take the time to sit down, think deeply, and reflect on who we are, where we were, and who we want to be. Society has got us in a rut, a routine, a schedule that our lives are based upon and we rarely have time for ourselves to meditate and self-reflect. So my challenge to you is to take some time to reflect on who you are and where you want to be. To see how far you've come. To challenge yourself. What steps are you going to take to be the person you want to be?

Exploring the deserted desert roads of Dubai 🇦🇪🐫 Shot on spontaneous sunrise mission with @danielfuze and @who.sane. After visiting Dubai 5 times, I finally got the chance to hit these roads up with a drone! Unfortunately, there were no camels there so I had to Photoshop some in 😂 What are your thoughts on Photoshop? When does it become too much? ===== Personally, I only Photoshop to enhance the shot, i.e. removing distracting objects or add in elements that help the photo come alive. I try my best to keep the photograph as realistic as possible, so if you ever visit a place that I shot, you have to chance to see it with those conditions. Whenever someone asks me which countries has the best food and culture, Thailand usually comes to mind 🇹🇭 I'm so excited to return to Thailand for the 4th time next week and eat more amazing Pad Thai and Thai curry! 🍛 ===== Behind the shot: last year, I saw this temple in a random YouTube video and spent hours researching where it was. Turns it out was hours from where I was staying, but I really wanted to see it so I got a taxi, showed the driver the place, and together we went to find it💪🏻 I ended up befriending the taxi driver and we spent the next three days exploring and camping together! The best part was he didn't speak English and I couldn't speak Thai, so we communicated solely through hand gestures and google translate 🤗😂

Cherry blossoms in Paris 🌸🇫🇷 I couldn't believe that cherry blossoms actually bloomed in France until I saw it with my own eyes! #Earth 🌎 We only have one. Yesterday was #EarthDay, and it was so awesome to see so many people show their love for our planet. But let’s not limit ourselves to just one day of appreciation; every day should be Earth Day. I spend the majority of my days exploring this world we call home, and it sucks to see beautiful lakes and beaches polluted. So today, and every day, I encourage you to try your best to cut out unnecessary actions that harm the planet. Don’t use a plastic straw 🙅🏻♂️Take a bike to work instead if possible 🚲 It might not seem like the biggest difference, but collectively our actions combined can do a lot. Let’s make change happen 💪🏻 ===== Behind the shot: This was shot at Assiniboine National Park in British Columbia, Canada (my home!) 🇨🇦 You can either ride a helicopter in, or hike 30km (hiking is SO much more fun!). I came here solo, but ended up meeting @scottcbakken, @jamieout, and @jesseroos, and bonded with them so hard we named ourselves the Assiniboys 😂 I miss them quite a bit. Manarola is found in the Cinque Terre area, set along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. This actually goes all the way back to my adventures in Tibet in 2017, when I met a young lad named @ghperspective. We became good friends and bonded over our faith, and later that year I decided to hit him up when I visited his home state of California. Together we rented a Mustang and ripped down this famous road, and ended up spending a sunset together chatting about life and taking long exposures. So yeah life is a journey I guess

I still remember this hike like it was yesterday 😍 Lake O’Hara, a gorgeous (and stressful) 30km trek in beautiful British Columbia 🇨🇦I ended up spraining my ankle at the top of this mountain and had to limp the 15km back with my buddy Jo 😂 One of the most intense and painful trips, but the surreal view I witnessed was worth it 💪🏻 ===== I’ve been more or less at home for the past month taking a break from the travels and getting ready for the next big trip. I’m so stoked to be exploring more of the world next month starting with Prague! Then I’ll be making my way to Spain, France, Italy, Maldives, Dubai, and Mexico until April! Anyone in town? 🤗

Fun fact: The pillars of the Taj Mahal are slightly tilted outwards so if there were to be an earthquake, they would fall away from the tomb 😯 ===== Currently stuck in Toronto due to Canadian weather issues so why not throw it back to a glorious sunrise above one of the most iconic structures in the world 😍🌅 I got to visit the Taj Mahal last year and see this majestic building with my own eyes and boy, was it jaw dropping.
