Whenever I went to visit Leah, I went straight into the kitchen and she welcomed me like family, always asking after my family and Zion. She was a true mentor, friend and inspiration to me and to many, many others. Through her bravery and her food, she provided a space for unity and activism during the Civil Rights Movement and long after.
