Meet Marley Dias ( @iammarleydias). She’s a 14-year-old activist (and published author) on a mission to bring diversity and inclusion to young people through literature. “I always loved to read, but I never saw myself, a black girl, as the main character. I thought that was a problem I wanted to solve when I got older, and then I realized I could do it then.” Since starting the #1000blackgirlbooks campaign in 2015, Marley and her family work to bring diverse literature into schools and curriculums around the world. 📚❤️ Learn more about her impact in this week’s episode of #Advocates, our series that highlights people around the world who are sparking positive change. ✨
Sometimes all you need to go outside your comfort zone is a buddy by your side. Just ask Henry and Baloo ( @henrythecoloradodog), a pair of outdoor enthusiasts from Denver, Colorado. 🐾⛰ “Baloo always checks with Henry to make sure it’s safe to explore, and Henry always checks on Baloo,” says their human Cynthia Bennett. “It’s almost like they take care of each other.” Today on #YouGotThis, Henry and Baloo show us that if you want to go far, it’s best to go together. #zagallo88anos
“Sharing your stories helps other people feel seen and heard,” says Robin Thede ( @robinthede), creator of @ablackladysketchshow (pictured right). “I came up with the name ‘The Black Lady Sketch Show’ when I created the series because I didn’t want there to be any confusion about what people were watching,” says Robin. “Then we changed it to ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ so that we didn’t single ourselves out as the only one. That simple change to “A” means that we’re one of possibly many black lady sketch shows, which would be a dream come true!” The best part of #ABLSS for Robin? “Working with all these amazing black women,” she says. “Writers, our director, our cast, our guest stars… and of course, (pictured left) Issa Rae ( @issarae).” #ShareBlackStories
Ibiza last night was SOOOO SICK!!! feels like every week just keeps getting crazier.. ❤️
Meet Noor Tagouri ( @noor), a Libyan American journalist on a mission to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and strengthen people’s perspectives. Overwhelmed? We’ve all been there. That’s why these illustrations by Gemma Correll ( @gemmacorrell) are so darn relatable. “Sometimes I’ll share something, thinking that it’s weird or too personal or that nobody else will get it, and it turns out that a lot of people feel exactly the same way,” Gemma says. “One of the worst things is the feeling that you’re alone in the way that you feel so it’s a relief to discover that you are not.” Today on our weekly series #YouGotThis, Gemma’s illustrations show that it’s OK to be a work in progress. Share them with a friend who needs a reminder, right now on our story. Illustration by @gemmacorrell

Meet Nicole and Paula, the London-based co-founders behind Black Girl Festival ( @blackgirlfest), the first arts and culture festival celebrating black British women and girls. “Coming from a place where everyone is black, then coming to a country where you’re literally being singled out because you’re black, really taught me about my identity and what it means, and not being ashamed of being a black girl,” says Nicole Crentsil, who moved to the UK from Ghana when she was 5. “We wanted to create a space that we had wished for our younger selves.” This October will be the Black Girl Fest’s third year. “To see young black girls come to the festival and buy books that have black princesses in them and buy dolls that look like them, this is why we do it.” says Paula. “It’s easily the best thing we’ve done in our entire lives.” On stories and IGTV, learn more about the festival and the women who are this week’s #Advocates — our weekly series that highlights people around the world who are sparking positive change.✨

Actor and recording artist Miss Benny (@miss_benny) gained the confidence to fully express himself by seeing fellow LGBTQ+ people online. 🌈🤠 “It's how I became comfortable with my own identity,” says the 20-year-old. “It was absolutely crucial for my survival. Amsterdam! Can't wait to be back with two solo shows during Amsterdam Dance Event!!
GREAT NEWS!!! Just came back from a check-up with the specialist and I am super excited to share that my recovery has been going very well up until now. This means that I will be able to do my first show again next week, which will be the opening of my Ushuaïa residency on July 4th, and I can’t wait! It will obviously take quite some time before everything will be back to normal and I will be able to jump around on stage like I usually do, but for now I’m just super happy that I can start playing shows again. Thank you so much for all your support and understanding and I hope to see you at one of the shows soon! 🙏🏼❤️ +x Martijn

Press Statement: Martin Garrix forced to cancel all shows coming weeks It is with deepest regrets that Martin Garrix has to announce that he is forced to cancel all his shows the coming weeks due to a serious ankle injury suffered during his show in Las Vegas on May 25th. Even though feeling positive after some days of rest, further examinations have determined that all his ankle ligaments are torn and surgery is needed to prevent permanent damage to his ankle. Therefore Garrix is forced to follow the specialist’s advice and cancel all his shows for at least the upcoming four weeks. Garrix: ’’I’m devastated that I have to cancel these shows since nothing makes me happier than performing for you guys. I feel most alive when I'm on stage, seeing you guys smile. I was really looking forward to it and I never want to disappoint my fans. Unfortunately this is out of my control and I will need a surgery and enough rest to fully recover. If I don’t get surgery now I might permanently damage my ankle, which could mean I won’t be able to perform at all anymore. I want to thank everyone for their continuous support and I hope to be able to get back on stage to perform for you guys again really soon.’’

Alguém pode me explicar por que chamam esse esporte de futebol se isso não é uma bola e não jogam com o pé? #futebolSQN Can someone explain why they call this sport football, if it’s not a ball and you don’t play it with a foot?
