Last weekend I dreamed that Marie Dressler, the early Hollywood character actress, contacted me to give an interview. She told me the silent era was “like another world.” I woke up and Googled her. She died on July 28, 1934. It was July 28, 2019 - my birthday. SPOOKY.
A 7th grade assignment recently dug up and sent to me by my “Foundations” teacher, Ms. Genth. The concept: “Wheel of Fortune” in Heaven hosted by Charles Darwin and featuring Matthew Harrison Brady from “Inherit the Wind” and Okonkwo from “Things Fall Apart.” Pictured: Lucy the Australopithecus, as Vanna White.
About to have a WHALE of a time. (Sorry.)

Remembering this beautiful day with @wayfaringstranger56 in 2012. We were stuck in Europe during Hurricane Sandy - I know, boo hoo - and it felt so strange to be far away from home as the city went through such turmoil. Now I’m sending the love back to Paris.
This movie star of a tree lives outside my window.

I have a lengthy interview with Robert De Niro over at newyorker.com, about everything from Trump to his gay artist father. But tbh the best part is this fantastic portrait by @richardburbridge.
