He was the first one to believe in me when honestly no one else did.. He shaped me into a credible work resource when I myself didn't think I could be one. Leader, Teacher, Father Figure, I cannot find enough words to describe him. Prof M S Pillai was a stalwart & a visionary. Director of Symbiosis Center for Mngt he took it amongst the top 5 ranking MBA institutes in the country. Yet never allowing us to have a chip. When Swachch Bharat was still not a fashionable slogan, he actually made us sweep the floors of the institute much to our dismay. He made Yoga & Vipassana compulsory in our curriculum when it was still not as cool. When I quit a cushy corporate job to pursue my dream to be an actor, he called me up both amused & proud & said "Go ahead, Live your Dream".. You shaped me sir and as the thousands of other students who poured in today from different corners of the world into Pune. Almost all hugely successful but collectively owing it all to you. Last month when you passed away I entered your home after years again. Still as modest as ever. Spartan, simple and humble. Your mission was only to enable your students & what a splendid job you did of it sir.. Almost all of us our living our dream.. Thank you sir!! But I ve lost my father all over again.

#TheBESTever #Repost @bollywoodirect (@get_repost) ・・・ Remembering Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the filmmaker everyone loves, on his 95th birth anniversary. His movies are ageless; his stories are the story of the common man and has transcended generations. The man who discovered Jaya Bhaduri in Guddi, gave Amitabh Bachchan his first big break in Anand, immortalized Raj Kapoor as Anari and Rajesh Khanna as Anand, gave Dharmendra his “life’s best role” in Satyakam – he is none only than the legendary filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Hrishikesh Mukherjee had directed 42 films during his career spanning 4 decades. He made films in which most of the middle class people can find themselves; he was the pioneer of the “middle cinema” of India. His movies always echoed the middle class ethos. He started his career under Bimal Roy, he was part of the team who made Do Bigha Zameen and Devdas. His debut directorial venture, Musafir (1957) with Dilip Kumar, was not a success, he was much ahead of his times. but he persisted and received acclaim for his second film Anari in 1959. In a career spanning four decades he directed films like Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, Anuradha, Asli-Naqli, Anupama, Anand, Abhimaan, Guddi, Gol Maal, Mili, Aashirwad, Khoobsurat, Bemisal, Bawarchi, Saanjh Aur Sawera, Phir Kab Milogi, Rang Birangi, Pyar Ka Sapna, Naram Garam, Namak Haraam which will remain in the history of Indian Cinema for times to come. The country’s highest honor in cinema, Dada Saheb Phalke award acknowledged his pioneering contribution towards introducing simple, humane stories of people-next-door on celluloid. Earlier, he had won seven national awards apart from numerous Filmfare and other coveted awards.

Peddling Dreams coz of 'em! 😍 😍 #Repost @bollywoodirect(@get_repost) Remembering #DevAnand on his 95th birth anniversary. "Dilip Kumar's tribute to Dev Anand." "I am just a year senior to Dev Anand. All three of us, Raj, Dev and I, started our careers around the same time in the mid-1940s. I still have fond memories of Dev and I travelling by local train to look for work in various studios. We developed a good rapport within a short period and Dev became a dear family friend, especially of my younger brother, Nasir Khan. By the late 1940s all of us were able to gain a strong footing in filmdom. Raj and I achieved stardom with “Shaheed”, “Andaz” and “Barsat”. Dev rose to heights with “Ziddi” and “Baazi”. We shared a decent professional rapport and a mutual set of unspoken ethics right from the beginning. Though nothing was put into words, we shared a silent regard for each other. There were frequent meetings between us when we would discuss and analyse each of our works. We had humorous moments also when Raj would imitate me and Dev immaculately. They were such beautiful moments as we were competitors, not rivals. Dev's plus point was that he was very cooperative with every co-star and technician. He had devastating looks and a smile which till date no other actor has. Whenever he received the right script and an imaginative director, he gave superb performances as in “Kala Pani”, “Asli Naqli” and “Guide”. Among us, he was the best in performing romantic scenes. I had the good fortune of sharing space on screen with Dev Anand in Gemini's “Insaniyat” in 1955. Directed by the respected S.S. Vasan, it was a costume drama. So generous was Dev that he cancelled dates of his own production shooting to accommodate dates with me. I personally saw how he helped junior artists by giving them take after take so that they could prove their worth. He never neglected anyone. We made it a point to attend each other's family functions. I attended his sister's marriage in the mid- 1950s and daughter Devina's marriage in 1985. Dev was present with wife Mona throughout my marriage function with Saira Banu in 1966 and also other events at our Pali Hill residence.

"Na dekhna kabhi aaina bhool kar Tumhare is Husn ka tumhe jawaab mil jayega" Happy Birthday Gaurie!! Nobody gets me like you do. I ve often said & I repeat our marriage is incidental to our friendship. Morally superior, kinder, larger & I am none of these, you ve helped me grow finer. Thank you for being that friend always. If only you could match my incredible good looks it would have been a perfect world! 😉

You were our TALLEST Leader ever!! Thank you Sir. Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpayee
That's right. Sunil Gavaskar had just made a sensational debut the same year & repeated his magic on the English tour but it was Ajit Wadekar's self belief that we cud win against the mighty is what paved the way for the then youngsters to perform so well. We won the West Indies tour as well earlier that year. Respect & Gratitude always..! #Repost @atulkasbekar (@get_repost) ・・・ RIP Ajit Wadekar We won against #England in the iconic 1971 series thanks to this man leading from the front. . The process of self belief in Indian cricket started from there. And if look at the highly trained current squad struggling in English conditions one can appreciate the mountain it must’ve been in ‘71. . Go well sir and thank you . . . #legend #skipper #captain #wadekar #sardesai #lefty #indiancricket #teamindia
