Sushi 🍣 Aaliyah has been asking for sushi for ages so I finally got round to it today and I’m so glad I did. ✨Salmon Fillet (grilled with soy sauce) ⚡️Cucumber ✨Sushi Rice + Peas ________ 🍙 I used @shisodelicious Bento Power book for inspo and attempted to make Onigiri of sorts, as well as Cucumber Maki Rolls, some of which Aaliyah made for the first time..so a really successful dinner! 🙌🏼Harrison usually says he doesn’t like salmon, but loved this, so it’s a real win! (Thanks to Jennifer’s ‘stick with it’ advice @kids.eat.in.color ) __________ We had some prawn crackers too and once we had eaten all that is pictured, we made more at the table, which the kids helped me with 💕 Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! 💛

🌭Hot Dogs + Salad ✨Outdoor Bred Sausage (not burnt, just bad lighting!!) ⚡️Cucumber + Tomato + Yellow Bell Pepper + Mangetout + Carrot ___________ Using @kids.eat.in.color ‘s idea of making a veggie Noughts + Crosses, the cousins got really into it! ☝🏼Maybe next time I’ll try using a food I know they don’t like so much, as any food exposure is an exposure! ___________ Scroll 👉🏼 to see the cousins playing the food game! ___________ We followed this lunch with yoghurt + chocolate chip cookies 🍪 Happy Friday!💛

✨Cacao + Blueberry + Apricot Oats 40g oats 1/2 tbsp cacao or cocoa powder milk to cover oats, plus extra 3 dried apricots, diced handful frozen blueberries 1/2 tbsp pumpkin seeds 1/2 tbsp sunflower seeds handful almonds, roughly chopped couple of walnuts, broken up Rice malt syrup/honey/any syrup if desired _____________ ⚡️Mix cacao with oats and cover with the milk and heat on very low for 5 minutes (if you don’t have time for the slow cooking approach, turn up the heat). ⚡️Add blueberries, nuts and apricots. Mix through some syrup if you like it very sweet, but the fruit gives it a natural sweetness anyway. We’re only talking a tsp here anyway. ⚡️Stir the oats and turn up the heat a little until it is hot all the way through. ⚡️Place into a bowl and top with the seeds. __________ 🥜If you’re allergic/don’t like nuts, you could use hemp seeds instead or just leave it out. This is delicious with most fruits, so use what you have to hand - raspberries, blackberries, kiwi, banana all work really well and have natural sweetness💕 Happy Friday everyone! 💛

Lentil Shepherds Pie ✨As soon as I saw this on @fit.foodie.nutter page I knew I had to make it! ✨Made with lentils, an economical and healthy plant based protein, ideal for a make once eat twice (or more) meal you can freeze excess and have them to hand for nights when you’re too tired to cook. ✨Made with sweet potato, which counts as a vegetable unlike white potato, so it’s win win in my eyes. _________ Find the recipe at @fit.foodie.nutter _________ We are picking up my nephew today for a sleepover, so we‘re going to take him pumpkin picking as we have never been to a pumpkin patch before and we love pumpkin carving 🎃 . Grilled Cheese + Courgette + Tomato Baguette topped with Extra Virgin Olive Oil ⚡️Not a very insta-friendly meal but so satisfying after a 10k run 😂 ✨No recipe needed and if I had avocado here I’d add slices of that on top for good measure 💛

Wholemeal Banana + Walnut Waffles ____________ 📝Makes 4 Waffles 1 Small very ripe Banana, mashed 1/2 Cup W/M Self Raising Flour 1/2 Cup Milk 1 Egg 1tbsp Seeds of choice (I used a mix of pumpkin + sunflower) A couple of Walnuts, broken into small pieces 2tsp Baking Powder 1/4 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda 1tbsp Olive Oil (or any oil of your choice) _____________ 🍐Toppings: Sliced Pear Chopped Nuts Nut/ Seed Butter Seeds (eg. Pumpkin/Sunflower/Flax) Brown Rice Malt Syrup/Any Syrup or Honey _____________ ⚡️Mix all of the ingredients together and let sit for 5 minutes while you heat up your waffle iron and prepare your toppings. I use my @cuisinart Waffle Maker. ✨Pour a ladle of mixture into the waffle maker - mine can cook two at a time. ⚡️Once you are happy the waffles are cooked through, plate up topping two waffles with sliced pear, crushed nuts, seeds, 1tbsp nut/seed butter and a drizzle of syrup or honey. ___________ 💭You can use any nuts, seeds or fruit to top these waffles with, so use what you like and have available. ☀️Good Morning! The sun is out in Kent today so called for boiled organic egg + cooked tomatoes on seeded toast. ✨Topped with sesame + pumpkin seeds + some extra virgin olive oil. ⚡️I had two pieces of toast and the equivalent of one egg and one big tomato. ____________ I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far? I ended up inviting myself round to @zed._.see ‘s yesterday as it had been way too long since I enjoyed her company😁 @clokey74 gave me some awesome food ideas on top of inviting us round for a roast today, so my weekend keeps getting better! ☝🏼But first the 10 year old has a football match, so I’m mum taxi and spectator (I love it really) Have a great day!💕

Chickpea + Apple + Vegetable Stew with Parmesan Dumplings ________ Parsnips Carrot Sweet Potato Harlequin Pumpkin Apple White Potato _______ ⚡️I put the veggies, homemade chicken stock (but any other stock will do) and white potato into the slow cooker this morning and left it for 6 hours. ✨With 30 minutes left to go I put the dumplings in the slow cooker and checked a skewer came out clean before serving up. ___________ This went down really well tonight, as we were all feeling a bit tired so in need of a nice warm stew. 🍏The apple gives the stew a subtle sweetness and coupled with all the root veg it’s really quite yummy. . Halloween Bert + Ernie 👻 ⚡️Inspired by all the incredible food art going on over at @luxeandthelady @bentovivlove and @feeding_little_ones I decided to make devil versions of @sesamestreet characters Bert & Ernie instead of making banana ghosts! 🎃 This was Harrison’s after school snack today and although I had to show him a photo of the pair, he loved it 😆 _________ I didn’t in any way decide to do this instead of banana ghosts because I couldn’t ‘make the ghost idea work’ 😳😂 @feeding_little_ones makes it look all too easy!! Happy holidays to people on half term! 💕

French Toast ⚡️Seeded French Toast topped with Banana + Walnuts + Seeds + Almond Butter + Brown Rice Malt Syrup ___________ French Toast always reminds me of a time when I was little when it felt like a massive treat to have a warm breakfast. I love how food stores so many memories 💛 _________ It’s the last day of school before half term holidays so we can’t wait to all have a week off together! And it’s Friday! Happy Friday 💛
