We tend to forget how far we’ve become. Can’t believe it’s been this long already. Next year is gonna be 4 years working in this beautiful industry. Keeping this trade alive! Not just the way to do things. That’s a part of it. I’m talking about good ol’values. So let us be kind to one another. Cherish our patrons, the craft and all the people that consistently work to keep the standard way up there. ☝🏻
[ SWIPE ] Haircut on the heartbreaker, world shaker, @rocky_barber ! The little fuck is enjoying some beautiful scenarios in Malta ‘cuz ya know, sometimes I’m though to manage. He needs vacation. Beard by @diogobduart . Go check him out!
There’s a few people you follow that inspire you in some way. Everytime I think about shape in my work, @giancardinale comes to mind. He does some outstanding scissor work. Fortunetely I’ve been able to attend the @menspireacademy course and watch him closely. In this particular haircut, the balance between a soft fade through the external and strong squareness through the internal gives an overall balance that appeals to the eye. And talking about strength or appeal, you should definitely follow my dear friend @joaosilvapp , which is the model right here and an outstanding photographer! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to the grind tomorrow. Have a great week 👊🏻
I know I have been away. I am deeply sorry for that. But trust me, it’s for a good cause. Either way, I’m gonna change this and get back to what built my career so far. Putting my work out there. And bringing truth to this industry. To focus on what’s important, our patrons and the relationships we build with them. So instead of posting a picture and say “skin fade” plus a bunch of emojis...This is Ricardo. He has difficult hair and he mentioned he had trouble managing it on the previous cut. Looked cool but got unruled fast. It’s thick but individually thin, so in my opinion, I go really short and high like this picture, or really low and long as in a taper or scissor trim. Perhaps layering to remove bulk. Either way, the point is, he trusted my judgement and I didn’t present awesomeness to him. I presented longevity. And we all know that longevity is key. It’s not just how it looks, but how it grows. ☝🏻
Excuse the phone quality. It’s been a while. Always good to see my brother @ricardoshank ! If you don’t follow him yet, you’re missing out. One of the finest in Portugal. . . . . . #Barbershops #barberhub #barbergame #barberpost #barberlifestyle #hairdressers #hairdresserlife #hairdressermagic #hairdone #hairdid #hairstylists #haironfleek #hairproducts #trim #hairtrends #salons #saloncentric #parlour #coiffeur #services #values #socialclub #workingclass #olddays #oldbutgold #beardmen #beardgame #beardstagram #beardsandtattoos #beardcare
Shape first! ☝🏻✨
So! I’ve been off from social media lately. I apologize in advance. But, after attending the @menspireacademy one week course from @menspiresalon I was just knocked down. Not because I feel bad for what I can do, but I feel inspired for what I can be. And that’s exactly what we should focus on when it comes to our careers...and even in life. It’s not where we are at the moment but where we will be in the future. Doesn’t mean it is a near future, but in my case, whatever that future may be, I know I give my all everyday to nourish it, so I can harvest the absolute best. Fire trim for man like Rodrigo. 🔥
NOTTINGHAM! I’ll be guesting @brikbarbershops , working at BRIK2 from the 11th of June till the 14th and then a quick passage through BRIK on the 15th of June. Bookings will be taken via @resurva starting tomorrow! If not tomorrow, keep checking, it will be on in no time. Be there or be square! Actually, you can be both in this case 😏
@barberconnect DONE! This convention is something that I’ll never forget and will keep coming back to. To look back and think that 3 years ago I was there as any other barber, gives me chills. 3 years ago I was a model for @joth_davies which was my smart move to get a job, @savillsbarbers . The year after, I worked as a Savill’s Team Member on the stand and a year after that, already back in homeland, I get an invitation to get on @wahlprouk main stage with @simon.shaw17 hosting! Got to perform for a crowd of a bunch of other hungry professionals, just like me!! It amazes me because I’m just another one still. Like all of them. Still hungry, still foolish (gotta give credit to Steve Jobs here). The truth is...I could never imagine what I would accomplish in 4 years of being a barber. The only thing I was certain was my hard work. Those who know me, know that I leave my heart and soul on that chair everyday. And for that, I strongly believe in what I do. If you struggle to be confident in your work, let me tell you that I doubt myself here and there, but if you put your mind to it, focus and actually get the work done, I assure you that there’s something out there for you! I keep surprising myself. One cut at a time. And you should too!
MODEL CALL! Looking for Models to work at @barberconnect this weekend. I’ll hit @wahlprouk stage alonsise my brother @joth_davies @giovanni_savillsbarbers and @frank_glorified to promote @copaceticgent . DM for enquiries on possible times/dates, and if possible, take a picture of your actual hair. Much appreciated!
Couldn’t agree more with the statement “Classics Never Die”. They will definitely be here forever and proven the test of time. Plus, the traditional barbering foundation is key for a solid set of techniques you should have when considering a career in this business. Yet, the set of skills I aquired through experience, even in the realm of contemporary grooming, make me a much better professional today. The way I see hair is improved. And believe me, you gotta see it instead of just cut it. Ultimately, I live in today’s world and some trends are spot on when the right people show up. And those people make it worth while at the end of the day. The moral of the story is...i’ll never loose that love for the classics. Contemporary Grooming, Traditional at Heart. 🙏🏻
