New work from @hydrapak last fall shooting in California directed by @hammerquist_studios and a rad crew of talent!
Smoke show in the Chilcotin Range, BC
Nothing but good memories with Stevie over the years of racing days and always will be missed!
Excited to announce my partnership with @fox_creative reps out of LA/NY and being apart of their roster of outstanding photogs. Having people out there that believe in your work this much is humbling and honored to expand horizons with such great support from them!
@grahamagassiz from all angles. I think this jump we built had more angles on it than anything I’ve ever shot. 1) Morning sunrise with Mt. Atwell towering behind and my personal favorite. 2) Shot from the heli. 3) A classic angle from this area on Brohm Ridge first shot by @eyeroam on a different jump and I never published this photo due to the fact it had been shot before by someone I have great respect for but thought it was worth sharing for this specific post. 4) Sunset vibes on the ridge bringing back some really good memories from this shoot a few years ago. One of the truly best weeks of my life.
@kateplusfate is one of the most pro athletes to shoot with out there with her positive attitude, making sure we get the photo / video components no matter how many times we say “one more time”, brings the good vibes, smiles and of course World Champ stripes. Shots from @redbull filming in Sedona two weeks back.
Storms a comin’. | San Luis Obispo, California.
Golden hour is the best hour.
The Pindari Glacier valley felt like the end of the world with towering mountains higher than 25,000 feet ( Nanda Devi is the 23rd highest in the world) and a valley below @micaylagatto that would be sure death with the slightest of mistake.
10 years ago to the day, I shot this photo of my buddy @skyeride in Spokane on the first wintery day of the year. I’d been shooting a bit for high school yearbook but this was the first frame of a mountain bike photo I ever took in my life. Pretty wild to think back then what this meant and where it would lead me to. I’m so thankful for all the opportunity, experience and friends I’ve made along the way. Thanks everyone for the continued support and here’s to many more years of shooting into the future!
Thanks @freehubmag @camelbak for putting together this epic adventure back in May to India. Film launching in less than a week and the article just dropped today! This region of the Pendari Glacier was under clouds on our arrival and we awoke to these towering peaks over camp. @micaylagatto bagged her first cover and @scott_secco crushed it on the film.
Been a fun and productive few weeks on the road shooting a bunch of different disciplines from trail running hills in the Bay Area for @hydrapak to capturing some pretty down right heavy moments at @redbull Rampage in Utah last week which to me in their both way are super exciting to shoot. Thanks @blzke and @jerfle for capturing some behind the lenses moments with perfect timing that @shimodadesign just announced the 30L photo bag I’ve been fortunate enough to help test and try my best to run into the ground but no luck yet. It’s a perfect bag for light riding or trail running shoots in comparison I used my 60L at Rampage last week since the conditions required a more demanding lens and dual body set up.
Another #redbullrampage2018 in the books after a mind bending week in the desert shooting on the @redbull stills team. Absolutely the hardest Rampage I’ve ever shot but so thankful everyone made it down that hill in one piece for the most part. Till next year! Congrats @brettrheeder on your win and everyone else there who showed their talents.
Finals day at #redbullrampage and things are about to get heavy! Hope everyone sticks their runs and can’t wait to see what goes down here.
What can I say other than how honored I feel to have this image of @unclebafus in the 25th anniversary edition of @bikemag hard cover book. As I thought about it more, this image represents a lot more and hold a deeper meaning than I ever imagined. It’s a reminder of a time in my career before money was on the table and Steven Bafus and I were just going out all the time to photograph for the pure fun of it to create what we wanted to. Thanks Steven for igniting my creativity matched with hands down the most unique riding style I’ve ever seen. Also thanks Bike Mag ( @the4color @nickifo @davidreddick) for running this photo as a “Dust” piece when it was originally published.
Might be the last summer eve like this up close and personal near Mt. Baker last week. Riding bikes has brought me to a lot of beautiful places but getting off the bike and soaking in the views that only your feet can get you to are truly spectacular moments especially in the company of @craig_gabrielson @sarahbpaxson @slaxsonmtb
@tadmando out for a glacial sup on a somewhat questionable but inventive setup. Don’t let lack of gear limit your possibilities!
The last 5 years of shooting #redbulljoyride and each year somehow progressing further to limits never thought possible. Titles earned, champions step onto the box for the first time or 5; unheard-ofs turn into stars, legends ride their last run and nemesis duke it out. Thanks fellas, you always impress.
Hitched up like a stallion at an old saloon, parked this @bmwusa #X3 while on a road trip campaign in downtown Winthrop, WA on a quiet morning in the western town. Road tripping is way more exciting with a bud to share the fun times with so I grabbed @grahamagassiz to tag along in the front seat and rip this agile car over the North Cascades highway. #BMWSummerOn
On set for @dakine X @elinchrom_ltd behind the scenes video in my profile link on what went into this image of @grahamagassiz that originally aired in @bikemag last month as a two page Dakine spread. So much work and thought went into this image and it honestly blew my expectations of the vision I originally had. Aggy’s unmatched riding style gave so much energy to this shoot and extremely proud of the product we produced. Images like these aren’t a show up and shoot for a few hours type of gig; days and days of bush whacking around the woods, driving tirelessly up logging roads, cold and wet. Finally coming to the right spot that had been a clear choice all along and spending the next weeks shoveling dirt into a perfectly sculpted feature only hoping that Aggy could make it look good. That he did and thanks for all who were involved in this project as it’s invaluable to have such a hard working team that can help produce a stand out product. #photography #photooftheday #pnw #freeride #sports
Could go for a cold fall day right about now and regulate temps with a wood fired tub. @amarcouxphotos soaking it all in #Griz
@grahamagassiz shot from the chopper a few years ago in Squamish, BC. What a crazy 24 hours this was shooting some of the best shots of our lives in a matter of only a few hours. @kennysmith9 was teed up on a massive rock roll chute (as usual) on the other side, @kevin.h.landry @katieholden on another ridge line while I flew around picking off pre scouted shots. Got dropped off on a ridge and then reshot all the same lines from the ground.
Every year a cultivation of moments captured around the world are beautifully laid onto the pages of @bikemag to make up the photo annual. Always feel lucky to be in the mix with this shot of @brynatkinson on a magical day in the forest in a place that we both call home. Everything about these images are more than just a picture, most of it is being in the right place at the right time, a ton of blind luck and a little bit of skill is the true creation of a good image in my eyes.
Can’t wait for Texas for breakfast this weekend at @retallacklodge my favorite trip of the year!
America the beautiful. I learned something from our neighbors in the great white north the other day while they celebrated Canada day in the fact that all the photos I saw online were of nature and sharing the beauty of their country instead of a bunch of drunk people shooting bottle rockets at each other. So who ever you are and what you believe in aside; we can all agree on one thing and that there’s a lot of good reasons to be in such a diversely scenic place that we call home.
