"On my way to visit the famous tea plantations in the mountainous Moc Chau district, I passed through this village. While conversing with an older lady about the local life here, I noticed her grandson trying to climb back in through the window. It was the cutest moment I witnessed during my five days spent in Moc Chau. Thinking back, I can still remember the house clearly, surrounded by hundreds of white plum trees; I can't wait to return to this village and see him all grown up." 📷 @soaipham 📍Moc Chau, Vietnam 🇻🇳 #passionpassport

"Mexico is soulful. There is a distinct energy that I loved from the moment I got there, contagious to those of us seeking freedom. It’s fitting for the wayward. I could see in a distance the day coming to an end: people on balconies, faraway conversations, and a growing ‘night-beat’ emerging in the streets — all whilst a beautiful light cascaded the facades of the city. “I finally made it to Brazil this April after so many years of trying to find the right time to visit. Starting in Rio, I thought, 'What better way is there to see this magnificent city and escape the crowds than to fly over it in an open-door helicopter?' And boy, it was one hell of an experience. From the minute we took off, I was filled with a massive rush of adrenaline: my legs sticking out, the wind blowing through my hair, my eyes feasting on the incredible landscapes below. Soaring over Copacabana Beach and making our way to the iconic Christ the Redeemer...I just couldn’t believe I was here. This place I have been wanting to see for so many years, and now I'm staring its iconic statue right in the eye; I felt so blessed to be able to do the things I do — an unforgettable experience.” 📷 @mon1r 📍Rio, Brazil 🇧🇷 #passionpassport

“After quitting our 9-to-5s in the corporate world, my girlfriend and I took off to Southeast Asia––the start of our year-long trip around the world. Arriving in Hội An, a beautiful town but overrun by Instagrammers looking for the perfect shot, we were searching for a more authentic experience. That's when we decided to take a tour of the Coconut Palm Tree Forest in Cam Thanh. It was a sad realization that even the most traditional activities had met an influx of tourists. While on this coconut boat tour, we asked the man steering our boat to take us a bit farther away from the crowds. When I launched my drone in the air, I was amazed by what I saw. "Driving up some very steep, winding roads, we (finally) reached Munnar, Kerala and decided to call it a day. Early the next morning, we left to visit a tea plantation fields and catch sunrise; I was in awe. It was the most gorgeous sunrise: row after row of luscious, green tea trees; a faint aroma of tea wafting in the air; tea workers plucking tea leaves in high spirits, even with such heavy baskets. "When I was younger I was always in awe of times gone by, as I still am now. But there were things I couldn’t get my head around: playing with a hoop and a stick, wearing bloomers and flat caps, no television! I could never comprehend living through the Second World War, no colour photography (albeit I now think that the first ever photos are beautiful compared to today's overly perfect photos). My grandparents, now in their 90s, have the most fascinating things to say. My grandad loves to tell us about his adventures, the way he took a train across the whole of India (sitting in a wooden bench) in order to reach Singapore and Malaysia where he was stationed as a radio operator. "Le Mont-Saint-Michel, an island located off the cost of Normandy with a population of just 50 people, is one of France's most magical locations. Its structural composition is a reflection of the feudal society that built it. The term “tourist” is defined as “a person who is traveling or visiting a place for pleasure.” So, why has the word garnered such a negative connotation? Travel is something we should all enjoy and see as mutually beneficial for those involved: tourism sustains all sorts of industries, while tourists are exposed to new cultures and ways of thinking. She's been a wedding photographer for 8 years while I'd just bought my first real camera a year ago, so it was a unique chance to shoot together. We took a day trip to Ronda to see its famous bridge, and we were blown away. There are paths along the whole gorge with houses built on hundred-foot high cliffs all the way down to the unmistakably Spanish valley. It was 9 hours of hiking to the summit, starting at midnight. There were no sounds on the mountain except the subtle wind, the slow footsteps crushing snow, and the harnesses moving along the ropes. "Gyeongbokgung Palace is located in the heart of Seoul and is a breathtaking palace worth visiting. I'm a second-generation Korean-Canadian, meaning I was born in Canada after my parents emigrated from Korea. I've visited many times as a child but don't have too many memories from there. I've been back twice as an adult now, which made me appreciate my background and culture that much more. As I walked through this palace, it was incredible to think how people were able to build it long ago. Learning about the culture's history really helped me to understand and respect my background, and witnessing the changing of the guards (while observing people dressed in traditional Hanboks) made me feel like I was back in that era!"
