What a great morning in Council Chambers as we celebrated UCLA’s Centennial and declared today UCLA Day in the City of Los Angeles. Leading us in the UCLA 8-clap was the UCLA Bruin Marching Band. #ucla100
Another great #PickPico event with my staff and @losangelesfiredepartment Station 92, among many, many local businesses, community groups and amazing organizations all who turned out for Pick Pico 2019.

What a moving and inspiring time I had this afternoon at Hamilton High School at the inauguration of Teen Court. Not only was it my pleasure to speak to the students and welcome Teen Court to my alma mater in CD5 alongside co-alumnus Judge David S. Wesley but I am extremely proud to know that this review of impartial students gives kids a chance to have a fair peer review to consider compassionate and realistic consequences. At the same time it gives kids an incredible opportunity to learn about the legal system as they must follow the same procedures as a Court of Law making impartial deliberation. Thank you to all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly to bring this program to Hamilton High.
A pleasure to spend time with Rabbi Baron and the congregation at Temple of the Arts this Shabbat. I spoke about the horrible incident in New Zealand and vowed to fight hate in all forms. Shabbat shalom.
Congratulations to the newest members of the Westside Neighborhood Council. Tonight it was my honor to preside over the swearing in ceremony and offer my gratitude and recognition of their commitments to community service and for their willingness to advocate for their CD5 neighborhood. @wncla @empowerla #civicaction
Happy 88th Birthday El Coyote Cafe -- Hollywood's oldest Mexican restaurant! Family owned & operated since 1931. Billy Schoeppner is the restaurant's longest serving manager and I was thrilled to stop by tonight to present him, the staff and El Coyote family with a congratulatory Certificate of Appreciation on this festive occasion.
Good morning from #ciclavia Culver City + Mar Vista + Palms. There's still plenty of time to bring the family down for a whole lot of fun. Dont have a bike? No problem. You can even check out a Metro Smart Bike simply by registering your TAP card. And be sure to stop by our table next to the Motor Ave Farmer's market at National.
Excited to welcome Roots to Grow, a transitional housing program for youth, to the community. Thank you to Safe Place for Youth (S.P.Y) & Venice Community Housing Center for their hard work and partnership in putting Measure H dollars into good use, to fight homelessness right here in Westwood.
Many low wage workers find it difficult to survive without a second job. But it is nearly impossible to get one, if the first job has a constantly fluctuating consistent schedule. I was delighted to join LA retail and food service workers this morning w/ my colleagues Los Angeles City Council President Herb J. Wesson, Jr. & Curren D. Price, Jr. demanding a #FairWorkWeek.
Today is International Holocaust Rememberance Day and the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. #weremember #NeverForget
