Meet Mary Grace Jamison. She is a former resident of Ronald McDonald House New York. At the age of 2, Mary Grace was diagnosed with Idiopathic Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a result, she had deterioration in her ankle that prevented her from walking and performing most activities many people take for granted. During her surgery last June, Mary Grace and her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House New York. A year later, Mary Grace came back to the House with an exciting announcement. She raised over $8,000 in support of the House through her organization, The PROMise Parlor, which provides young girls an opportunity to feel beautiful inside and out for their prom by offering hair and makeup services with only a request for a donation in exchange. Thank you Mary Grace for truly being a Hero to the House. You can be a hero too by starting your own Facebook fundraiser today. #keepingfamiliesclose #kidshelpingkids #rmhc #prom

Families had lots of fun in the sun today at our annual trip to Kruckers Picnic Grove with the Rockland County Sheriffs Department, NJPD, Parkway PD and NYPD. Whether they spent the day hanging by the pool or dunking the Sheriff, today was a great start to what is sure to be a busy week for families staying at the House and our NYC families who are receiving treatment for their child at neighboring hospitals. #keepingfamiliesclose #nyc #nypd 📸: @rwtnyc

Our 7th Annual NICU Reunion with NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County brought together families to visit the doctors and nurses who once took care of their children that received treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Summertime fun is in full swing as we took one of our favorite Great Days trips of the summer! ☀️ . . . Great Days is a program that invites families for trips around NYC and the surrounding area on their child’s days off from treatment and appointments. These trips happen 3-5 times a week and provide families with memorable experiences during their stay in #nyc

Families travel from across the world to access treatment for their child that is only offered by neighboring NYC hospitals. While being in NYC can be exciting and providing some of the most unforgettable experiences, many families have a frightening and long journey ahead of them during their staying. RMH-NY works to provide the accommodations and support families need during their stay in #NYC

Depending on a child’s treatment plan, families could be staying at the House for one night or a few years. Being away from home for long periods of time causes parents and caregivers to have to work from “home” here in NYC or stay at home and be apart from their family while their child is receiving treatment. Our House holds many spaces that allows parents to work while staying close to their family. #keepingfamiliesclose #wfh
