I am in love with Berlin but I almost never spend more than 2 weeks at a time in my city. Since I lived here for almost 10 years by now, I've seen almost all interesting corners of it. Recently, another bucket list dream of mine came true – I flew over the city in a plane with @GetYourGuide. Seeing all the landmarks from above was an unforgettable experience and trying to find my house from the bird's view was a fun challenge. Put ❤ in comments if you also love Berlin and tag a friend with whom you'd take this flight! Also, check out the carousel and let me know which picture is your favorite (mine is number 2;) #sponsored #ÜbertriebenGuterUrlaub

You've noticed that I started posting more portraits recently. Last week I've met beautiful @julia.dalia and even though we had only 1 hour to shoot, I managed to show so many sides of her:) Her freckles are to die for! Which portrait of Julia 1-10 is your favorite?

I hate waking up early. But for a sunrise like this one, I am always ready to make a sacrifice😴 The most beautiful beach in the Cyclades, do you know its name?

Sunflowers are one of the unofficial symbols of Ukraine. I grew up cooking with sunflower oil and eating sunflower seeds. What are your country's unofficial recognizable symbols?

Lost. Found a few pictures from Namibia, taken with my smartphone. There is no other place I've been that perpetuated the feeling of loneliness in this world as much.

2 summers ago I've shot a little story in Brandenburg and never had to chance to show the whole "movie". I had a certain "Breathless" vibe, when I've shot it. What do you think? Actors: Arina&Michel

Time to share something personal but at the same time very public. Some of you know, that I was evacuated from Pripyat after Chernobyl Nuclear Accident in 1986. Since the HBO show came out, many keep asking me about my family experience and my thoughts about the events depicted in the show. I watched 5 episodes by now and it really stroke a chord. Especially, since I know most of the names and met some of the people depicted in the series.  Toptunov (the senior reactor engineer) was my father's friend, helped my parents carry a new fridge up our apartment in Lenin Avenue 17 in Pripyat. My dad visited him in Moscow before he died.  Ananenko and Bespalov (who, together with Baranov (RIP) prevented the 2d explosion as depicted in episode 3 of the show and recently were honoured with the Hero of Ukraine medals, were also good friends and I've met Ananenko in Kyiv, since he lived next door.  Lyudmila Ignatenko (the firefighter's wife) was evacuated to Kyiv and lived 3 floors down from us. I met her occasionally and played with her son (born 2 years after the Accident) couple of times. She told me about her husband's death and how they couldn't bury him in shoes, cause his feet were so swollen.  As a child I didn't realise the severity of being "from Chernobyl". It was only when my father died 13 years ago, that I started seriously thinking of the horrible accident my family and thousands of other families survived. Being a photographer, I returned to the Exclusion Zone again and again in the past years. My book “Prypyat mon Amour” came out in 2016. I think these events will be haunting me for the rest of my life.

This short reminds me of some Nintendo arcade game from the 90s.

Found these beautiful smartphone portraits I did of @lenasberlin last year on a cruise ship. I like the blur on the 2d one - what about you?

rrrudya

Christal clear. I don't have much inspiration for captions recently - life has been quite exciting without much social media in it. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to new experiences and new projects, while spending some weeks in Berlin (finally, after a long time country-hopping). Are you planning any interesting trips soon? Something unusual?

rrrudya

Study in pastel colors. Tag a friend, you'd love to visit Santorini with;)

"Der Sommer kam und Berlin war der schönste Platz auf Erden". (-Good Bye Lenin!) Summer came and Berlin became the most beautiful place in the world. Agree? I definitely have a weak spot for Berlin summers. They are somehow cathartic. #SamsungDeutschland #samsungsnapshooter #withgalaxy #TeamGalaxy

I do have holidays sometimes too, you know. So here are some holiday pictures from Santorini, where I do stereotypical holiday things - walk by colorful buildings, sit by the pool and pretend that apricots are my eyes. Which holiday snapshot is your favorite? 1-2-3?

I've spent 2 days on Santorini and couldn't avoid going to Oía, even though I was afraid of crowds. Everyone seem to gather on the infamous hill to watch sun set, but most people leave immediately after, missing the best light of the day. Many today regret of how overcrowded some famous locations are - but honestly, back in the day, most beautiful places were invaded and destroyed on a regular basis, people suffered from epidemics and famine...Nowdays it's crowds of tourists on holidays these places suffer most. Not so bad, in comparison to almost any other time in human history. What do you think? Shot with my #NikonZ6 and 24-70 mm f2.8

A very popular drone spot from a different angle. Generally I prefer top-down shots when droning, because they create unusual patterns and geometry. What do you think?

I cannot believe that I am finally ON VACATION! I went to Mykonos with my girls for a special occasion and we got really lucky with our beautiful villa, happy with all the food that we've eaten and mesmerized by the wonderful sunsets we've watched. Such moments together are priceless. And have you been to any of the Cycladic islands? Which one is your favorite?

Couple of days ago we had an amazing time in the Myvatn Nature Baths in the North of Iceland. They are similar to the famous Blue Lagoon, but much less crowded. Generally, travelling through the empty highlands and deserted East and North is such a pleasant contrast to the touristy part of the South. When I visited Iceland for the first time in 2012 there were only a few people next to the Skogafoss. These days I don't even bother going there anymore...

Happy to announce that me and @bellcollective are working together with @mercedesbenz this year on the @shesmercedes series of roadtrip interviews with female travel photographers. *werbung/sponsored I never used wide-angled lenses in my life. But since I have the new #GalaxyS10+ I find the built-in fisheye lens perfect for my smartphone photography! Especially when I shoot for stories. I've shot the 1st picture in Stockholm's subway and the 2d inside an abandoned church on Cyprus. What's you opinion - is the usage of wide-angle lens justified in both cases? #SamsungDeutschland #samsungsnapshooter #TeamGalaxy #withgalaxy

Black sand of Tenerife vs white rocks of Cyprus. Which one do you prefer? Post 1 vs 2 in comments!

rrrudya

Some of you were wondering what were I doing in Cyprus. The answer is here - I did an editorial shoot for a magazine together with @kaistuht. Something unusual for me, but since I love portraits and people photography, not much of a challenge. Rosemary here wasn't even a model - she came as a hair stylist to our shoot, but I loved her look and we shot with her too. Can you imagine she is a football pro and played in the premiere league in Kenya?! PS all pictures shot on my #NikonZ6 mirorrless camera (* Werbung wegen Markennennung)

Fill in the box ... A few days in Cyprus were quite intense. Waking up early, shooting all day in sun and wind, getting my 3:50 AM flight delayed for 12 hours - I need a holiday from all these:) This weird mixture of a beach and construction site would do😂 ... #samsungsnapshooter #withgalaxy #GalaxyS10+ #TeamGalaxy #SamsungDeutschland

Many people tell me - "you are so lucky, your life is a constant holiday". Little they know, after most of my work trips, even if it is the most beautiful destination - I need another holiday to come down. Well, our recent trip to Stockholm was exactly the kind of holiday I was longing for. Best travel partner, sunny Nordic capital, yummy köttbullar, an interesting book - what else one can wish for? Seriously - tell me what do you wish for at this particular moment?

So as I've announced already, I am in Stockholm for a short holiday. The weather is perfect, the hotel @stallmastaregarden we stayed for the first days was perfect (totally #accidentallywesanderson, check the 2d pic), the city is as great and as expensive as I remember. The best thing in comparison to Berlin is that you can pay with card EVERYWHERE. Moreover, some places do not even take cash! What do you think about it? Cash or card? #WHPgoingplaces *Werbung weil Markennennung
