Something that lived up to the hype..this. This is the Yee Peng Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai. It’s relatively touristy, but honestly such a moving experience. It’s so special to send your wish/lantern into the sky with thousands of others and to see so much joy! It’s something that deserves to be on everyone’s bucket lists :) Also, stay tuned for some insane content from Palau, South Africa, Costa Rica, Germany, France, and a few more places - so much to share with you guys! Been kinda inactive on here lately but trust me the grind never stops! Yew! 🤙🏽💪🏽 #beautifuldestinations
This is @kelsealoha pretending she likes long walks on the beach.. when in reality she’s wishing she was sending a 10ft wave riding a dolphin floatie followed by 3 hours of intensive shelling 🌊
Dreaming of the otherworldly sights of the Atacama. It’s a goal of mine to adventure a whole lot more of South America! What are some unique places in South America I should add to my bucket list? #beautifuldestinations
Thousands of miles of driving, last minute flights, endless hours scouring the radars, way too many gas station meals, and a year of eagerly waiting to try again - I finally got to see my first tornado last night and my goodness it was worth the wait. Couldn’t be more stoked to share this moment with the tornado legend himself, @tyschmitt. This tornado was one of the craziest things I’ve ever experienced in my entire life.
On this morning, a few moments after I took this photo, (actually 16 photos stitched together 😜) I got a call from Beautiful Destinations letting me know I am hired full time as a creator. A major life dream realized! I just remember being in shock and feeling such a sense of relief. Speechless I sat contemplating life a million miles an hour as I looked over this sunrise at Mt. Bromo. To me, when I look at this picture I think back to those feelings of joy and excitement. I think about all that’s changed for the better since then and I think about all the hard work that’s gone into realizing this dream and many others. I think about how grateful I am for the opportunities I’ve had along this INSANE ride with BD and all that I’ve learned along the way. It’s been 2 years since I got that call, 2 years since this sunrise. But it feels like yesterday. And today, sitting at the airport reminiscing on this photo I feel just as stoked as I was in this moment. I love what I do and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Cheers to two years with my dream job! 🍻 #bdteam
Happy Earth Day! :) got to spend a good part of the day underwater - I hope you all had a chance to get outside today too 🤙🏽 I think everyday should be earth day, and I also think that today should be a national holiday, check the link in my bio if you agree! 🌎
Found a few more photos on my phone from the trip to Réunion with @kelsealoha! I don’t think I’ll ever run out of pictures to post from here 😅 .. also doesn’t the last photo get you stoked for Game of Thrones? 🐉
@meganhassa and I constantly trying to figure out the best place to eat breakfast in Hawaii, I think this is definitely up there 😉 On a separate note, I’m feeling extra grateful to call this place home especially after watching the new @beautifuldestinations YouTube video that the guys @nainoalanger and @captainpotter lovingly crafted. You get a sense of understanding through the video of the values and magic that make Hawaii such a special place on this planet🌴 link is in my bio :) #beautifuldestinations
This was honestly such a special experience. We got permits to go and see Silverback Gorillas. Once we finally tracked them we were only allowed to stick around for one hour. And let me tell you that hour felt like 5 minutes, I became completely one with the gorillas for a solid amount of time out there 😅 there are only about 1000 Gorillas left which is why it is such a special opportunity and privilege to have spent time with them. It’s also even more uplifting knowing their population is on the rise! 🦍@visitrwanda_now @beautifuldestinations
The land of 1000 hills. I spent the past week traveling around Rwanda getting a chance to learn about their culture and of course their stunning nature. It was all so beautiful and inspiring. It’s definitely one of those places where I left wanting infinitely more. A week felt like 2 days. I’m so grateful to @visitrwanda_now and @beautifuldestinations for the experiences. I honestly can’t wait to get back out there, I found some insane hikes for next time 😬 #visitrwanda #bdteam
I’m somewhat of a mystery on here, which I consciously enjoy. Here’s a pic of me @matiasderada snagged last year in Chile, i realize I haven’t posted a pic of myself on here in ages and everyone at BD pesters me to post myself more, so here ya go.. 😂 but since were at it, feel free to ask me anything in the comments! This is your chance, I have great WiFi
I always have this place on my mind, I love thinking back to this day. We drove straight from the airport and jumped in! #beautifuldestinations
The freshest air you can find 👌🏽
Spent the last couple weeks cruising around and spending quality time with @josiahwg in Thailand. We saw some of the most incredible sunsets, found a hot waterfall, and took a long tail boat to some pretty unique islands. It was so much fun to slow down the pace and adventure with no agenda in mind. Thailand is so beautiful :)
One of the most unexpected and majestic views I’ve ever seen, taken from the highest point on Réunion 🌴 🌋
One day I’m going to get to the bottom of this waterfall. But for now I’ll settle with sending the drone to do the hunting for me :) You can ask @kelsealoha I was pretty much drooling on the drone screen when I descended on this beauty. Definitely a bucket list waterfall but I’m not checking it off until I swim at the bottom 🤙🏽
When I first saw a picture of this view over a year ago, I became obsessed with trying to figure out how to see it in person one day. It felt pretty surreal to watch all the talking and dreaming come to life when the twists and turns of the adventure led to this view. Definitely a moment that gave me chills. I couldn’t get enough of it, It was so good I actually came here 3 times!
All I knew about Cairo was that the pyramids are nearby. I honestly knew nothing else, which is what made Cairo so exciting! It felt like a completely new world to explore. We met up with some new friends right away and as we quickly discovered Cairo I was quickly surprised by how much I loved it! I experienced so much lively, pulsating, and colorful culture. Around every corner there were smiling and passionate people. Our friends @nadermakram and @sylviaamin have made Cairo a special place in my eyes. While the pyramids were definitely amazing to see and not underwhelming in the least bit, the people are what I’ll remember from Cairo. #bdteam
Even though I was on a tiny island in the Indian Ocean, I still found a way to catch some of the falls colors this year 😉 But seriously driving through the volcanos on Réunion was a blast. Most of the time we were whipping around corners in the clouds but every once in a while the fog would clear and the landscape would come alive with colors like this!
The most surreal sunset from the highest point on Reunion Island. Just got home after the craziest, most non stop week of adventure with @kelsealoha. We got about 3-4 hours of sleep a night to maximize our time and see everything we could see! I loved being back in full adventure mode. I have thousands of photos to go through, and so much more to share!
Heading somewhere tropical and new in a few days! I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a trip! I also think I say that about every trip 😂but I promise this one will be really special, trust me :) until then I’ll just be California day dreamin’ 🏝
Being underwater is such a meditative experience for me. It’s pure freedom for the body and the mind. The brief moment of bliss focusing only on the clicks and the fish. The more you live in the moment in this silent world, the longer you can stay. Only to return to the surface changed by a sensation.
I love to look at the fine details that make a moment special. Part of my process of creating involves putting the camera down and simply observing the majesty. From the grand down to the tiny details on the horizon. A lot of my pictures come to me before I ever pick up the camera. It feels like I’m preserving a moment that way, rather than just taking a photo. Find your balance :) P.s - let me know which one of these is your fav. I couldn’t decide!
It’s about time to go waterfall chasing again 🌿
Edinburgh on a moody foggy morning. I’ve definitely grown to like so many more cities this year! Edinburgh is a destination I’d love to revisit and explore more! Even though I only spent 2 days here, it felt so enchanting and left me wanting so much more!
Once we landed in Chile we decided to drive through the night out into the middle of seemingly nowhere. Getting tired, we found a random spot to pull over and camp not knowing it would look like this when we woke up. No matter how sleep deprived I might feel sometimes, i can’t help but see sunrise everywhere I go. It’s my favorite time of day especially when these colors are your wake up call 🌅
Last week I spent a surreal 3 days in Cappadocia. The experience I had was incredible! It was special because of the people that took us in, I really want to thank @artemiscavesuites @cappadocia and @pilot_faith for showing us an authentic and unique perspective of this mysteriously beautiful oasis in Turkey. I cannot wait to come back and stay for longer. We explored for nearly every second we were here but it didn’t even come close to being enough, until next time ✌🏽🇹🇷#beautifuldestinations
Nature always knows how to satisfy the perfectionist in me. This was one of those moments where I couldn’t believe my eyes. Atacama was filled with surprises and magic like this everywhere I looked.
We had just over 24 hours to explore a few places in Iceland, and I think we spent half of that driving to see this. I’m on a crazy exciting and speedy euro trip right now with @beautifuldestinations @tomjauncey and @matiasderada. This trip is bringing me to so many breathtaking and iconic places; it’s impossible to fully take everything in as we’ve been to 4 countries in 4 days so far, and I’ll be on my way to Turkey in a few hours. It’s been so intense, but so much fun to sample so many new places! #bdteam
The last sunset I saw while living in Hawaii. It’s always so hard to look at photos and not feel the warmth and nostalgia that comes with the moments spent here. I’m so grateful for everything this place taught me. Stay safe out there friends 🤙🏽
The Atacama Desert in Chile arguably has one of the darkest skies in the world. With that in mind, I chose to time this trip with @beautifuldestinations during a new moon and the Perseid Meteor Shower. I guess you can say I was pretty excited to photograph the night sky! All day long, this place radiates the most vibrant colors and nighttime was no exception - it was by far the clearest @matiasderada and I have ever been able to see the Milky Way. It seemed to pulsate in the sky! Truly a magical experience. #bdteam
Make having fun in life a priority! Don’t make it something you feel like you need to schedule or plan. Be spontaneous, be yourself, and take chances!
Congrats to France for winning the World Cup! It was such an exciting experience to be there during some of their wins! And also pretty exciting to see sunrises like this 😉 #bdteam #beautifuldestinations
I love shooting everything. People, nature (obviously), hotels, cities, events ... you name it. There is always a fun way to get creative no matter what I’m shooting and I always enjoy the challenge and hustle. But by far the most enjoyable place for me to shoot is...waterfalls! I always feel like I’m in another world, completely separate from the world I know, totally surreal - it’s usually pretty special and It’s always a treat when I stumble on one like this. What do you guys enjoy shooting?
It’s been a crazy week so far exploring Paris - I think I might have a new favorite city! So stoked to be here working on a video for @beautifuldestinations Also, I’ve been a bit absent from Instagram recently but I plan on sharing a lot more of my work with you guys in the coming weeks! I’ve been creating nonstop and have too much to share! #bdteam
Just a few of the moments from one of the craziest most humbling weeks of my life. Already making plans to get out there and chase some storms next year, I don’t think I’ll ever get enough! And I’m even more excited to show you the video @loganlambert @tyschmitt and I have been working on! @beautifuldestinations #bdteam
We don’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we interpret what happens to us, and how we respond. Yeah that’s @tyschmitt grinning ear to ear as he surfs his way into one of the most insane storms I’ve ever witnessed. Both in life and literally. The past few days @loganlambert and I have been storm chasing with Ty, working on an original video for @beautifuldestinations -we’ve driven thousands of miles and completely immersed ourselves into the life of a true storm chaser with the hopes of bringing Ty’s incredibly inspirational story to life. Living the storm chasing life the past few days has been intense to say the least. I don’t know about you, but I was always told to take shelter from tornados, lightning storms, and hail. But it turns out, It’s been the biggest thrill of my life to embrace all of that full on. There are so many lessons to be learned from welcoming life’s storms. I know for one I’ve learned that sometimes when you can’t run from them, the best thing you can do is grab a skateboard and have some fun with it 😜🌪
My first time visiting Wyoming! It was an amazing reminder that there is so much that I need to explore in the states. It’s overwhelming but exciting at the same time! I think this is only my 3rd national park I’ve visited, and we were only there for a few hours. How many national parks have you guys visited? #beautifuldestinations
