@lizzobeeating discusses generation Instagram and misogyny in the music industry with @jonathanheaf for #LOVE22 "I think women, or anyone, especially right now, you have to be true to yourself. Back in the Nineties, or even the early Noughties, being yourself wasn’t an option. You had to fit into a mould or follow a particular pop algorithm to be successful, and I think men could always be themselves, especially white men. But now, being an individual will get you there." On Tuesday night, the Sarabande Foundation hosted an exclusive conversation between Andrew Bolton and Liam Freeman, in which Bolton discussed Camp for the first time on since the exhibition opened. “If you were to reduce 'Camp' down to the defining characteristics, it would be irony, but because camp is a mode of seeing, a mode of being, it’s a philosophy, it’s hard to pin and if you do try and capture it, it loses its potency. It loses its power and the whole point, is that it’s amorphous. One thing, which we did want to do, is generate debate, which thankfully it has done. It’s sort of gone beyond the exhibition, because of social media, and the debate is still going on.” Photo of @themarcjacobs, @chardefrancesco and @lizzobeeating courtesy of @gettyimages.
