This is huge! To @alysiamontano, @af85, @karagoucher, and every athlete & consumer who spoke out - thank you. Your courage to insist on what’s right will impact generations of women athletes to come. We hope other companies follow Nike’s lead on this critical issue. Regram @af85: Our voices have power. NIKE has joined in officially and contractually providing maternal protection to the female athletes they sponsor. This means that female athletes will no longer be financially penalized for having a child. I’m grateful to John Slusher and Mark Parker for their leadership and their desire to guide NIKE as a company who believes that we are all more than athletes. And THANK YOU to the brands who have already made this commitment. Who is next?
U.S. Soccer is doing everything in its power - even hiring lobbyists to advocate against the women’s team - just to avoid paying @USWNTPlayers what they’re owed. We’re angry, but we’re not surprised. To see these World Champions & global superstars struggling this hard for equal pay tells us a lot about the uphill battle women are facing across the U.S. in every industry. We’re not giving up. There’s a Maya Angelou quote that says, “Every time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it, possibly without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” . Not only are the @USWNTPlayers fighting to be paid their worth, but they’re using this moment to link arms with @TIMESUPNow and fight so that *every* woman is paid her worth. Period. . Together, we’re working to close the gender and racial pay gap for good. Join us at the link in our bio. Thank you for your support!
Women of color can lose close to *a million dollars* over the course of their careers because of the pay gap. That's buying a house. 🏠 That's sending your kids to college.🎓 That's retiring with security.💰 Any candidate for president MUST address this issue. #DemDebate #TIMESUP2020

Raise your hand in the comments if you’ve ever struggled to pay for child care! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Everyone deserves access to quality, affordable care. Even Jessica McDonald -- the only mom of the @uswntplayers -- struggles to cover child care costs for her son, Jeremiah. It doesn’t have to be like this. Big news: This week Senator Kamala Harris & Rep. Pramila Jayapal will introduce the #DomesticWorkersBillofRights! Domestic workers were deliberately excluded from many of the country’s foundational labor laws. With this federal legislation, they would win absolutely critical labor protections - Congress should pass it quickly and grant domestic workers the safety and dignity they deserve. On today’s 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, we’re reflecting on the fearless activism of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera and their legacy fighting for the liberation of all people. Together, these two trailblazing transgender and gay rights activists co-founded STAR, a nonprofit that served homeless trans and gay youth and helped them access basic services like health care and housing. We still have so much more work to do so that every single person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity -- particularly transgender and nonbinary people. Here’s to honoring Marsha and Sylvia’s legacies on Stonewall’s 50th anniversary by continuing that fight. #pride #stonewall50
Zero: That's the number of questions about sexual harassment that were asked at the first presidential debate. "It's more than unfortunate — it's unacceptable," our Chief Policy and Strategy Officer, Jen Klein, told @Refinery29 this morning. We'll be watching the candidates closely to hear what their plan is to address sexual harassment at work — an issue 80 percent of voters think is important. #DemDebate #TIMESUP2020
YES! 🔥🔥🔥 regram @serenawilliams: "In 2001, Wheaties paid homage to a true champion and an icon by putting her on the cover of a Wheaties Box. Althea Gibson was the FIRST Black Woman tennis player to be on the box. Today, I am honored to be the second."
Unacceptable: Out of 4000+ questions asked in 123 primary debates from 1996-2016, only eight questions TOTAL were asked about the following issues: Paid leave (4⃣); Pay gap (2⃣); Child care (2⃣); Sexual harassment (0⃣). What do you want to see asked in tonight’s #DemDebate? Vote at the link in our bio.
For two full decades, primary debate moderators have failed to ask America’s presidential candidates about issues that deeply impact women. Out of 4000+ questions asked in 123 primary debates from 1996-2016, only eight questions TOTAL were asked about sexual harassment, the pay gap, paid leave or affordable child care. We say #TIMESUP on debate coverage that ignores issues crucial to the majority of voters. Vote on what questions YOU want to see asked in this week’s #demdebate at the link in bio. #TIMESUP2020
We support our sisters in Mexico as they say it loud and clear: #YaEsHora for gender equity. #TIMESUP on gender-based violence. #YaEsHora de romper el silencio. #YaEsHora de espacios de trabajo libres de violencia, acoso u hostigamiento. #YaEsHora de caminar juntas.

HUGE WIN: New York has just passed TIME’S UP’s #NYSafetyAgenda, extending NY’s statutes of limitation for 2nd & 3rd degree rape to 20 & 10 years and strengthening protections for sexual harassment. This is an incredible victory for survivors, who will now have more time to pursue justice, and for every New Yorker, who deserves to work in safety and dignity. Thank you @NYGovCuomo, @SenatorBiaggi, @AravellaSimotas and @andreastewartcousins for your unwavering leadership. Your commitment to passing this legislation will impact generations of New Yorkers to come. Sending gratitude to @MiraSorvino, @wobblessilva, @CarmenLoBue, @realmichellehurd, @juliannemoore, @GloriaSteinem & the whole TIME’S UP network for raising your voices for the #NYSafetyAgenda & saying #TIMESUP on laws that don’t protect us. And thank you to the thousands of #TIMESUP supporters, who sent messages and made calls to NY lawmakers. Your voices were heard. YOU made this historic win possible.

Powerful testimony from @mirasorvino at our press conference in Albany today. There are many reasons why a survivor may wait to come forward. Year after year, New York’s statute of limitations for 2nd & 3rd degree rape - among the shortest in the U.S. - keeps these survivors from justice. We need NY legislators to pass the #NYSafetyAgenda before June 19th. If you live in NY, contact your reps today (find the link in our stories and swipe up!).

**Contact your NY reps at the link in bio, or tag a friend who lives in NY in the comments 📝☎️🗽** NEW YORK: Year after year, an outdated NY law keeps countless rape survivors from justice. NY has one of the shortest time limits for reporting 2nd and 3rd degree rape in the nation after North Dakota. The #NYSafetyAgenda would strengthen protections for New Yorkers who are sexually harassed at work AND end the state’s outdated time limit on reporting 2nd and 3rd degree rape. Write your NY lawmakers and tell them to pass these critical policies NOW.

New York has one of the shortest time limits for reporting a 2nd or 3rd degree rape in the ENTIRE COUNTRY. In the next few weeks, NY legislators have the power - and the obligation to survivors across the state - to change this. #TIMESUP ( @nowthisnews)
