Monday mood 🖤 Tippi, test shot for an IBM ad by Virginia Thoren, 1950’s
“All in all, it’s been a pretty amazing life for a small-town girl from Minnesota whose only dream was to be a figure skater. And I’m not done yet. I never set out to be famous, or a model, or an actress, or an animal rights activist, or a humanitarian. I just went where my heart led me, once I decided that being afraid was something I wasn’t going to do anymore, and it led me on an extraordinary journey.” Excerpt From Tippi: A Memoir Tippi Hedren Book link in bio
To all the Mothers, Grandmothers, and Godmothers...Happy Mother’s Day! 🖤
Repost @visionlosangeles This Mother’s Day, we are beyond excited to announce that we are now representing the ultimate matriarch, the legendary, visionary, Tippi Hedren. @tippihedrenofficial As an actress, Tippi became famous for being the star of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic films, The Birds and Marnie. As a feminist, Tippi spoke out about sexual harassment against women in the entertainment industry decades ago, paving the way what we now call the Me Too movement. As an advocate during the Vietnam war, Tippi started a school for female refugees to learn a specific trade- manicures, influencing today’s predominantly Vietnamese nail industry. Tippi then turned her love for animals, into a full fledged career in animal rights activism. Today she lives on her large cat and elephant preserve, @shambalapreserve just outside of Los Angeles. Tippi is a woman for us to aspire to, a mother for us to admire, and a visionary. Thank you to her team and especially to her daughter, @melaniegriffith for allowing us the honor of helping to bring her story to a new generation of young women. And, to all of the mighty mothers we work we with, we see you and admire you. Happy Mother’s Day!
