Rain, hail or shine, the city lights don't stop in Melbourne. There's a buzz with people crossing paths on the way to a night out and the chatter of crowds huddling into cosy bars. Need an idea of somewhere to start? @barmargauxmelbourne is the latest underground bar with French food, champagne and cocktails. They even accept bookings and stay open until 5am. Find it by looking out for some nondescript stairs ...of course. Photo by @photosbyraffy #visitmelbourne

We talk about @thenightmarket a lot but make sure to visit @vicmarket during the day too. The market opened in 1878 - so locals have been buying their fresh produce here for more than 140 years! Not only is it the go-to-place for locals, but a place to experience Melbourne's multicultural influences. Sample the market's famous American doughnuts, warm up with a Sri Lankan curry, browse the quirky retail shops or sip a true Melbourne coffee at @marketlane. Make sure to check their trading hours before you visit - they close Mondays and Wednesdays. Photo via @tanushree_k_ #visitmelbourne

A calming winter sunset caught at Sorrento on @officialmorningtonpeninsula, a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne. Take a moment to look away from your phone and look up when you're next in Melbourne. The Dome at 333 Collins St is a hidden piece of architecture in the middle of the city from the 1890's. If you need to walk from Flinders Lane to Collins St, make sure to take this path. You might be deceived from the outside, as the Dome sits within a newer building, but the trip inside is definitely worth it.
