"I looked all over for one that was ornate but not over the top,” @arieldearieflowers says about her bridal crown. “I originally thought about wearing a Victorian wax flower crown, but those felt too heavy. I also had a specific idea in my head for this and just couldn’t find it. That was when I decided to make my own crown of tiny freshwater pearls and rose gold.” Tap the link in our bio to see more from her and Andrew Simkiss's Brooklyn wedding. Photo by @laurenbalingit

For their wedding dinner, Mieka and Jacq asked @RenkoFloral to plan their floral arrangements, who exceeded the couple's imaginations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "We were so moved by the way she incorporated fruit from Israel and the Philippines and loved how far she stepped outside the bridal box." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tap the link in our bio to see more of Mieka and Jacq's dreamy California wedding. Mieka and Jacq's chuppah for their wedding ceremony was a labor of love. Their friend Tyler Thomas, an architect at @VennStudio, built it for them as a gift using bamboo and traditional piña fabric that was brought back from the Philippines, where Jacq's family is from. It was all coordinated by Lena Randolph, the couples' wedding planner, described by Mieka as a "godsend." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As for their wedding day looks, Jacq felt prepared to take on the challenge of crafting her own look from the years sewing since childhood, thanks to her mother. She knew that she didn't want to wear a traditional wedding look, and created a beautiful set for her special day. For Mieka’s beautiful bridal day look, the couples’ friend @ShainaMote offered to make a custom jumpsuit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tap the link in our bio to see more photos from the couple's wedding in California. During Mieka Tennant and Jacq Pablo's wedding ceremony, a few close friends gave their blessings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was an emotional and, at times, hilarious experience,” Mieka says. “Each friend contributed so much love and richness to the ceremony. And then, our friend Erica Chidi Cohen sang one of our favorite songs, ‘Moon River.’ It was so special to share in that moment with her.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I was so excited but so emotional and full of anticipation,” Jacq says. “At the same time, I had never felt so ready for something in my life. I remember thinking, ‘I should feel more nervous,’ and in most situations speaking so openly in front of all of my family and closest friends, I would have been. But standing there in front of Mieka, I didn’t feel nervous at all. I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be, and I was fully settled into a state of pure happiness.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the link in our bio, see more photos and details of Jacq and Mieka's wedding in California. As Larry led Mieka and Jacq down the aisle together, the emotions of the day started to set in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The sensation of walking to the ceremony together and seeing our friends and family was so incredibly impactful and the tears began,” Mieka says. Her sister, Zoe, officiated the wedding. “The three of us are all really close, and we knew she was the perfect person to guide us through the ceremony,” Mieka says. “She read it to us a few nights before the wedding, and we all lay in bed crying and laughing during it. We couldn’t believe the work she put into it and how layered it was. She started by honoring the land we were getting married on, then moved into stories of each of our family’s heritages from describing the texture of the town Jacq’s great grandmother was from, to how each of our parents fell in love.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the link in our bio, relive the magic of Jacq Pablo and Mieka Tennant's beautiful wedding in California. The dress code for guests of Mieka and Jacq's wedding was "do the most." Their dog, Larry, followed it perfectly. After both proposals, Mieka Tennant and Jacq Pablo started to turn their attention to wedding planning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The moment we set foot on the property where our friend Jason Lev, of Ground Up, was building his home, we immediately knew we had found the perfect place for our wedding,” Mieka says. “The house was still very much in construction, but it was clear by the canyon it was nestled in and the vision for the architecture and design that this was the dreamiest backdrop for us to be married in.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When they asked Jason if they could have their wedding there—acknowledging that it might have to take place right around the time when the house’s construction was set to wrap—they weren’t sure what his reaction would be. “But it was a big yes—he said that it was the perfect blessing for his new home,” Mieka adds. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the link in our bio, we are celebrating Mieka Tennant and Jacq Pablo's beautiful California wedding. Mieka Tennant and Jacq Pablo's romance started out as a slow burn. “It happened over many years,” Mieka, a publicist and community organizer, says of how she and Jacq, who works in finance, got together. “Jacq’s sister, Jenn, planted the seed when she showed each of us the other’s photo.” It took a few more years after that for them to finally meet and get together. “But when we finally became an item, in true U-Haul fashion, the dog and the house soon followed,” Mieka laughs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After a year and a half of dating, they started to talk to their friend Jess, of @J.Hannah and Ceremony, about their rings. “We love the process of developing ideas collaboratively and doing it with someone we trust implicitly,” Mieka says. Not wanting to do away with the element of surprise entirely, they eventually gave each other creative permission, with the idea that two proposals are better than one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the link in our bio, we're celebrating Mieka and Jacq's dreamy California wedding. Historically, marital festivities have reflected the wishes of the couple’s family rather than the couple themselves. Now, brides and grooms are ditching outdated traditions and creating a fête that’s right for their union. Still, many wedding traditions of the past linger in modern times, and couples’ feel pressured to perform them. In response, wedding planners work with couples to pinpoint what is most important to their clients and empower them to do their own thing on their big day. At the link in our bio, we take a look at 11 wedding traditions and whether or not they still have a place in 2019. Photographed by Whitefashion Photographer

@katharinemcphee and @davidfoster, who wore a tux by @stefanoricciofficial for the big day, said “I do” in front of 150 guests, including the groom’s five daughters: Allison, Amy, Sara, Erin, and Jordan. (Foster has four ex-wives, B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, and Yolanda Hadid; McPhee was previously married to Nick Cokas.) The bride’s beautiful styling was actually the work of her new step-daughter Jordan Foster, the youngest of Foster’s five children. “It was also very special to have David’s incredibly talented daughter Jordan—who is already an established a stylist—be with me for all my fittings and giving her input. I really don’t think that my veil [which was made of a pin-tucked tulle capeline] would have turned out the way it did without her input. It was such a cool concept. It was dramatic and original.” Tap the link in our bio to see more. Photo by @zacposen
“I really trusted @ZacPosen to make my wedding dress,” @katharinemcphee says. “I knew he would bring my dream to fruition. I had sent him some reference images of Princess Grace. I loved her classic beauty and elegant simplicity. Zac told me he wanted to incorporate our love of music somehow into the dress, so one of David’s songs was notated on the back. It was the song, ‘The Colour of my Love,’ that he wrote for Celine Dion and René Angélil for their wedding day. It was a relationship that David always admired, and [he] was there from the beginning. The wedding dress turned out to be more than I could’ve ever imagined, but what I didn’t expect was that Zac would also be with me as a guest and to personally oversee my every move.” Tap the link in our bio to see more.

@katharinemcphee became taken with London while starring in Waitress on the West End, so having she and @davidfoster's destination wedding there felt like a perfect fit. “It was an idea that our closest friends came up with for us,” she says. “We were all going to be in London together to travel throughout Europe—a tradition David does every year, and it coincided perfectly with the end of my run in Waitress the musical.” Tap the link in our bio to see the full wedding. Though it’s long been a custom to have bridesmaids wear froufrou clone dresses in mouthwash blue or Pepto pink, wedding rules have relaxed over the years. Instead of having the nuptial crew dress all the same, why not opt for something that is more in line with the participants’ tastes and style? Karl Lagerfeld left his mark on every item that walked the @Chanelofficial runway, from the minaudière bags to the boater hats, but perhaps none was more memorable than his bridal dresses. The scene at cocktail hour following @DanixMichelle and Ian Morrison's wedding ceremony. After finding their names on vintage French mirrors, guests were ushered through a foliage-and-floral arch into the ballroom, where the band broke out into music, signaling the start of the party. Dani Michelle’s veil was 11 feet long, and it trailed all the way from the stage down to the aisle. “One of our dear friends sang Etta James’s ‘At Last’ and then segued into Elvis’s ‘Fools Rush In’ with our family and six bridal-party couples coming down the aisle before us,” Dani remembers. “The ceremony was full of laughter and love. I will never forget how hard we locked eyes, our sweaty hands, and everyone surrounding us. We made our crowd cry, so we’ve heard! We left to The Ronettes’s ‘Be My Baby.’ It was everything we’d dreamed of and more!” At the link in our bio, we take a look back at celebrity stylist @DanixMichelle and fashion photographer Ian Morrison's Santa Monica wedding. Dani Michelle and Ian Morrison's wedding was a black-tie affair: the room was filled with @OscardelaRenta, @CarolinaHerrera, @Dior, and @Givenchyofficial, with men in sharp tuxedos. “We wanted our guests’ first experience upon arrival to reflect a lush, romantic French garden vibe,” Dani explains. “So our florist designed a floral installation and candles down the double staircase to welcome them.” The aisle was lined with wild delphinium, wild grasses, caspia, and candles at every height, and the couple was married under a chuppah covered in those same florals, anchored on a raw wooden frame enhanced by curly willow branches.
