Top 5 Hamstring Exercises 🍑 Designed to strengthen, tone and buuuuuurn those hammies 🔥 Give these a go in your next lower body workout 🏋🏼‍♀️ ➡️ Staggered stance Romanian deadlifts - shift your weight to the front foot and use the back foot for stability. Keep your back straight & core engaged. It can be helpful to check your form in a mirror. ➡️ Romanian deadlifts - go as deep as necessary to feel a pull down the back of your legs, then use the hammies to lift you back up. Back straight, core engaged. If you’re super flexible like me it can be helpful to do these elevated so you can go deeper. ➡️ Good mornings - imagine you’re pushing your bum backwards, keeping an athletic bend in your knee and your back straight. You don’t need to go to 90 degrees, just as far as your hamstrings allow you to. ➡️ Single leg glute bridge - focus on pushing through the heel and squeezing at the top of each rep. I lift my toes off the floor as it helps me keep the focus on my hamstrings, not my quads. ➡️ Hamstring walkouts - keep the hips high throughout the movement, pushing up through the heels to keep the hammies working. An Unpacked Supermarket 🌍👏🏼 Last week I was invited by @waitroseandpartners to come and visit their unpacked Oxford store where the focus is reduce, reuse and refill ♻️ They have reduced waste by removing packaging from 160 fruit and veg products, offering a refill station for almost 50 products and removing plastic from their flowers 💐 They even have beer and wine on tap - just refill a bottle! 🍾 Customers bring their own containers to fill up, can borrow a box from store or purchase reusables from Waitrose 👏🏼 This is HUGE and requires change at all levels of the supply chain! As someone who shops at Waitrose on a weekly basis, I’m so excited to see a huge brand take positive steps to fight plastic consumption and pollution 🌊 This Unpacked shop was meant to be a short trial but it’s gone down so well with customers that Waitrose are making it permanent and rolling this out to more stores very soon! 13 lessons I’ve learnt from starting a sustainable swimwear brand @staywildswim 🌊 ➡️ There’s never a perfect time to launch a new business. You just need to suck it up, take the risk and start. ➡️ The fashion industry isn’t built to support sustainable brands. Don’t give up, just push harder for positive change. ➡️ No matter how organised you are, factories never stick to deadlines so factor that into your schedule. ➡️ There’s no difference between you and a “successful business woman”. They’re just someone who gave it go and you can too. In reality everyone is blagging it and learns on the job. ➡️ Sustainable options are more expensive, your budgets will get gobbled up in seconds so set aside more cash than you think. ➡️ There is so much more to starting a fashion brand than just making pieces and selling them. Customer service, admin and logistics will take up much more of your time than designing clothing. ➡️ Humans are so supportive and kind, when you’re struggling with a start up you realise how giving other people can be with their time and skills. Don’t be afraid to ask for a favour. ➡️ Abandon any glamourised ideas of being a “4 hour work week” entrepreneur. Being a business owner means working long days, including weekends. But you don’t mind because it’s your baby 👶🏼 ➡️ It is easy to get caught up in tiny details of your business but in reality the most important thing is sales and cash flow. Focus on that. ➡️ Business partners are like a marriage, open communication is the secret to success. ➡️ Starting a business is one hell of a risk and leads to a rollercoaster of emotions. I swear by my routine and wanted to share my three non-negotiables every morning: • I try to leave my phone on airplane mode for the first 30 minutes of my day, so I can get started on the right foot without being bombarded by notifications. • I apply my @schmidtsuki Lime + Bergamot natural deodorant. Almost dying taught me a lot. But the biggest lesson? That life is a gift. The probability of you existing is minuscule. It’s equal to the chances of 2 million people getting together – each to roll a trillion-sided dice - and they all come up the exact same number – e.g. 550,343,279,001. Then the probability of you being born into a developed country? Even smaller. Being born with a body free of illness? Smaller still. You are so lucky. If that isn’t a reality check I don’t know what is. There are SO many reasons to be grateful and SO many reasons to find a little joy in every day. Plant based meals containing a whopping 25-35 grams of protein 💪🏼🌱 One of my most frequently asked questions is “how do you get enough protein?”, which is a very valid concern! Removing animal products from your diet takes away the typical protein sources we think of - meat, fish, eggs and dairy. However, you can still eat a significant quantity of protein on a plant based diet. Here’s my tips on how: ➡️ I know a lot of vegans say don’t worry about protein but if you’re training hard you do have to be a little conscious of your intake. Try to ensure you include a plant based protein source in every meal. Whether that’s tofu, beans, legumes, seitan, hemp seed or whole grains such as quinoa. ➡️ That being said, release unrealistic protein goals. Hitting 180g a day is just crazy and not necessary for 99.9% of humans. I personally hit around 60-80g a day (sometimes a little lower/higher) - which is plenty for the amount I train. ➡️ Track your intake for one day. Using an app such MyFitnessPal you can log your food for one day to see how much protein you’re consuming. This can show you what meals are high/low in protein and whether you need to consciously add more into your diet. (Warning: don’t do this if tracking food triggers you). ➡️ Supplement. I use a plant based protein powder [from @vivolife] pretty much every single day. It gives me 25g of protein in a serving, tastes great and is super convenient in a shake, smoothie or porridge. 🏋🏼‍♀️ I hope this helps you guys out! I’m no nutritionist but I can speak from my personal experience of eating plant based for coming up to 2 years now 🐷 P.s. Want high protein recipes like these? It’s Earth Overshoot Day 🌍 The day that mankind has used up its allowance of natural resources such as oil, water, soil and clean air for 2019. This date has moved forward by two months in the last 20 years and now we are at a point where we would need 1.75 planets to produce enough to meet humanities needs at current consumption rates 😅 So what does this tell us? Considering we need to be globally at negative emissions and significantly reduced and optimised consumption by 2050... we have a lot of work to do. Here’s where we can focus our efforts: ➡️ Global change. It is true that 71% of global emissions are produced by 100 companies alone - so we NEED to push for global, political, industry and policy change. Use your vote and your voice to support this. ➡️ Individual Change. Wider change will not happen unless we show the decision makers that we want it by making individual changes. We can make significant impacts in our daily life by reducing our consumption of resources and supporting sustainable practices. From eating less meat through to switching our energy supplier to renewable resources. Isn’t it weird how we get so caught up on our appearance? A couple of years ago I would have never posted this photo as I have no makeup on. I was so self conscious about my face that I felt like I wasn’t good enough without it. I always put myself down, saying things like “I’m not naturally pretty like other girls”. I used to literally never leave the house without a little something on my skin. Then a couple of years ago I had a realisation that my face isn’t going to change anytime soon so I might as well get used to it. Disliking it was a waste of my valuable time and energy. I slowly started to embrace it. I know it might sound silly but I challenged myself to go outside, see friends and do activities without makeup on. And now? I haven’t worn makeup once this week. I happily go to the gym, work and meetings without a scrap on my face. Don’t get me wrong, I still love getting glammed up and take great pleasure in the ritual of applying makeup. That 7 year glow up 😂💅🏼 Fun Fact: I used to be called Blonde Health and was into body building. Leave a comment if you’ve been following since the beginning! 💪🏼 On a serious note, here’s a few things this photo demonstrates: 1️⃣ I’ve always had a privileged, long (6’2) & slim body. I’ve never been on a weight loss journey. 2️⃣ That being said, even though I have always been a size 8-10 my perception of my body has shifted dramatically over the past 8/9 years. I had times where I thought I was too flabby, too skinny or not muscly enough. Everyone can be critical of their bodies. 3️⃣ I’ve gone from a regimented, chicken eating, macro-counting, weight lifting body builder who deadlifts 100kg to a plant based gal who eats and trains flexibly. Neither of these techniques is superior to the other. Our approaches to fitness can evolve and change, that’s normal. 4️⃣ Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20. I’ve been on a rollercoaster journey over 8/9 years since I first started training. It took time to find a method which felt right for me and it took time to feel comfortable in my skin. Finding movement and nutrition which works for you is a constant evolution, and I’m sure my personal approach will continue to change as I grow and develop as a person ❤️ #theglowup

Toned Triceps 💪🏼 This morning I was short on time so squeezed in an at-home workout - this is one of the circuits I did and it left my arms feeling like jelly 🔥 ➡️ 8 Tricep Push Ups (keep your elbows close to your side to target your triceps) ➡️ 10 Narrow Grip Presses (again, keep your elbows close to your side and your arms parallel as you press the weights up) ➡️ 12 Skull Crushers (the key with these is to keep your arms parallel, bend from the elbow and keep the upper arms still - just moving the forearms ✅ I did three rounds and it was a killer! You know those girls who come out the gym looking glowy and fresh? I’m not one of them 😂👍🏼 A savage workout courtesy of @gus.wittraining here in Paris left Ant and I soaked to the skin with sweat 💦 It’s empowering AF to push your body to a point where it wants to give up and find the energy to keep going. There were moments in yesterday’s session where I was literally repeating to myself in my head “I can & I will”. It is my mantra that gets me through any seriously tough session and I recommend you give it a go too. It feels cheesy the first time you do it but just try it. Full Body Home Workout 💪🏼 No equipment is needed for this strength building session, it focuses on bodyweight resistance while also keeping your heart rate elevated 💦 Save it for later, you can use it when you’re short on time and need a quick total body blast 🔥 ➡️ 25 Pop Squats (these are vile, sorry not sorry, but they’re in this circuit to keep your heart pumping!) ➡️ 20 Reverse Lunges (10 per leg, focus on loading the front foot to activate your glutes) ➡️ 5 Eccentric Push Ups (engage your core & focus on a super slow lowering phase of the movement, aim for a minimum 3-5 second eccentric on each rep) ➡️ 8 V Sit Leg Lowers (again, focusing on a slow lowering phase. Engage your core to protect your lower back and move your legs with control) Set a timer for 20-30 minutes depending on how long you have and see how many rounds you can get. Green Space 🌳 If you know me you know I’m a secret (or not to secret 😂) #naturenerd and I love a daily dose of green space. I was born and raised on a farm in Yorkshire so getting outdoors brings me back to my roots and grounds me 🙏 I have been focusing on mindful activities with @kevita_europe and on my last post you guys challenged me to go explore a new park on foot - the dream activity for me! 🥳 So I hiked up Hampstead Heath with a bottle of boocha in hand, which I have never been to before - and damn it is beautiful, wild and rugged. WORLD RAINFOREST DAY 🌍 I can’t think of a better day to share some seriously exciting news with you guys... I am officially an ambassador for @rainforestalliance 🥳 Rainforests support the greatest biodiversity of living organisms on the planet. A single bush in a rainforest can contain more species of ants than the entire British Isles & a single hectares of forest can contain over 480 tree species. Rainforest’s are the lungs of the planet, absorbing carbon and producing over 20% of the worlds oxygen. They are essential in our fight against climate change 🔥 However - over 200,000 acres of rainforest are destroyed and burned every single day. Over 150 acres a minute. As a result, a recent UN report states we are pushing 150-200 species of plants, insects, birds and mammals to EXTINCTION a day. A. DAY. 😱 That is why I am SO proud to be working with @rainforestalliance. They have saved over 125 million acres of rainforest in 74 nations by working with local communities to conserve forests and support sustainable livelihoods in rural areas 🌱 And this is just the beginning. Here is your weekend workout 🏋🏼‍♀️ This full body kettlebell circuit is guaranteed to get you sweating 💦 And all you need is one piece of equipment. Give it a go: ➡️ Squat & Press (one side) ➡️ Squat & Press (other side) ➡️ Romanian Deadlift to Upright Row ➡️ Russian Twist & Press Simply set a timer for 45 seconds work, 15 seconds rest. Completely the circuit 4-5 times depending on how strong you’re feeling! 12 things no one tells you about living in London 🇬🇧 1️⃣ Every journey takes around an hour. Only 2 miles away? Yep, still probably takes an hour. 2️⃣ Everyone wears black, it’s like the London uniform. But similarly you can wear a rainbow jumpsuit and nobody will bat an eyelid 🌈 3️⃣ Pret is EVERYWHERE. There’s sometimes two on one street. 4️⃣ The default walking speed is fast. Strolling doesn’t exist here. 5️⃣ Rush hour involves sweaty armpits, invaded personal space and anger at backpacks or heaven forbid, a suitcase. 6️⃣ DON’T CHANGE AT BANK STATION. Unless you want a workout. 7️⃣ City mapper becomes your bible. 8️⃣ You’ll pay the price of a small car for a gin & tonic. Want a double? Better sell your kidney 💰 9️⃣ You get categorised by where you live. East London? A bit hipster. West London? You’re posh. 🔟 It isn’t like the countryside, people don’t smile at each other. I don’t know about you guys but I thought that when I grew up I would end up having 4 best girlfriends I drink wine, wear face masks, travel and gossip with 🥂‬ The reality? I have a small handful of individual friendships and I still get occasional pangs of loneliness 🤷🏼‍♀️ Don’t get me wrong, I have incredible humans in my life and feel ever so grateful for those around me. However I just want to reassure you that adult friendships and in particular female friendships can be tough. We grow up. We grow apart. We move house, city or country. The people we thought would be in our lives forever end up leaving. We get thrown into new environments, communities and workplaces hoping to find lasting connections. And it isn’t easy to do that, it feels vulnerable to reach out and meet new people. It feels like everyone else has their close knit groups and you are left on the sidelines trying to find yours. But you know what? I’ve realised that it is normal for friendships to ebb and flow, for your inner circle to grow and shrink as you evolve. I’ve come to realise that you don’t NEED lots of friends or the idealised “girl gang” to be happy. You just need small handful of amazing humans who understand you, support you and bring you joy. It can take time and effort to find your people, and they can come into your world much later in life than you ever expected. They can stay forever or go in a different direction, and that’s ok. World Oceans Day 🌊 Our oceans cover 70% of the earth’s surface and are the lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen we breathe. Not to mention they’re home to some incredibly beautiful creatures - scuba diving with them is my happy place 🐋🐙🦞🐬 However they’re sadly under attack, with 13 million tonnes of plastic going into the ocean each year, equivalent to a truck load a minute. This can kill whales, turtles, dolphins and seabirds to name a few 😭 BUT - We can do something about it! Core Burning Circuit 🔥 Now let’s be real, this workout is about as functional as a chocolate teapot. It isn’t going to build the strongest or most stable core, BUT it will give you a satisfying and sculpting ab burn - and if I’m honest, sometimes that’s what we crave from a workout 😝 ➡️ Sliding Crunches (brace your core and engage your pelvic floor before you lift your chest up). ➡️ Oblique Toe Taps (relax your jaw and lift with your core to avoid neck strain). ➡️ Bicycle Crunches (a classic, I like to take these slowly and focus on squeezing on each rep) 🔥 Go for 30 seconds of each exercise followed by 1 minute rest after the full circuit. My brekkie of dreams 😻🌱 Chia pudding made with hazelnut milk, raspberries, strawberries, @nutrawfarms cashew pistachio butter and @boojabooja chocolate truffles 😋 I used to look at chia seeds like whuuuut the hell are you!? 🤨 But now they’re a staple in my diet! They’re an incredible source of omega 3s, calcium, potassium, magnesium, fibre and plant based protein 💪🏼 I don’t have a specific chia recipe, I usually just eyeball it and throw it in the fridge for 10 minutes to thicken up.
